Slap City's big wave of hype when it had hundreds of people playing online was during the spring and summer of 2018 which died hard when Smash Ultimate came out later that year. The game is close to getting a Switch release so hopefully some of it will come back

I'm waiting to see if I want to buy it dempeds on if nick all star brawl actually has a second dlc and multiverses and just cause 5 comes out soon then I'm buying them for like 450 dollars because just cause 5 will also have tons of dlc like the last 2 so basically slap city is great but I like bigger roasters
Also I like games that are like just cause 3 4 so basically this game is pretty good
Smash ultimate is pretty good with spirits and stuff but slap city is just fun so I'd play it soon

Oh wow, I recognize Goddess of Explosions from Hyper Princess Pitch! That's a crazy throwback, I remember playing that game a bunch in high school, along with other Ludosity classics like Herocore. I had no idea they were the devs behind Slap City and even the new Nickelodeon game.
I've been playing fighting games for over a decade, and despite having no prior interest in any platform fighter, I fell in love with Slap City very quickly and it's now probably my 2nd favourite fighting game. I'm doing what I can to promote it in my local FGC, and encourage anyone else who likes it to do the same. Thanks for bringing some attention to this hidden gem!
Every character has exactly one stage that is designed for them, their Omega Oblivion of Obliteration, a challenge stage you can get as a secret. Pretty easy to miss, but fun if you want to do something really hard. You get there by collecting all the collectibles to unlock a secret level, then at the end of that secret level there's an insanely long jump with a customized distance per character that leads to the 4O.
I've done a couple of those! I just figured it was too much of a spoiler to put in the video, and didn't effect the criticisms I made towards the story modes overall

I only remember this game from the people you said had covered it around 3 years ago. It seems like a pretty interesting platform fighter, and I’m glad the devs went on to work on that Nick fighter. I might try it out sometime, thanks for the review and recommendation Hidden Chest. I’m looking forward to more content soon!

I laughed so hard when I saw that, I had to include it in the video!
I only ever saw the name and a picture of one of the more meme style characters back during its hype days, and I think I just wrote it off as some sort of duh huh funny 5 minute joke game that the Internet likes to rally around for a week at a time if I'm totally honest.
So thanks for bringing to my attention the dev all around as I hadn't a clue of any of that history! This is exactly how even with a window of big Internet coverage it is quite easy to still slip through the cracks for us indie devs. Fingers crossed my next game makes even as big a splash as slap city though haha

I mean a year ago they added rwo characters and crossplay for Nintendo switch which works with pro controller perfectly so basically this game is great again
I would love for this game to come to nintendo switch. Especially since ludosity worked on nickelodeon all-star brawl (I love that game).
