- ARMS is pretty divisive among early Nintendo Switch releases, but I think a sequel is absolutely going to happen. So what should Nintendo do to make ARMS the breakout series it deserves to be? Watch me rant about this for almost 18 minutes!

Some mechanics I thought of:
-using arms as a grappling hook, like swinging from the ceiling
-fixing the grabs so they don’t automatically attack, but having to perform your own combos
-using arms to propel speed on the ground
-choosing how far you want to stretch the arms
Those are really cool ideas!

Fighting games are usually not really my jam, but Arms looked really interesting when they revealed it. They almost gad me hooked, but the lack of meaningful single player content is definitely what kept me away in the end. So I'd love to see that remedied in a sequel.
If they ever do finish that graphic novel, the character I'd like to see get fleshed out the most is Kid Cobra.
I think he's got the coolest design out of all the ARMS characters, and while I think it would be interesting to know about the secrets behind Twintelle's hair, I'm more invested to see how different it is for Kid Cobra having the ARMS ability and how he, unlike the other characters, is the only one who was born with and grew up having it compared to the others who just randomly received it.
But an ARMS 2 with your suggestions would be just as good.🙂 Great video, keep up the good work!
Yeah, there are so many mysteries in the arms world! But all we have so far are hints at depth, I hope in one way or another these things are expanded on.

Very interesting video. I actually have over 1,500 Hours In ARMS (I make ARMS Tech Videos, So I Lab).
Here’s just some of my input:
•In terms of some of the ‘new moves’ you discussed:
-You can already Duck under opponent’s punches while sliding forward. Both Kid Cobra and Helix can do this with their Dashes.
-Lobbing Punches. There’s actually multiple ways to do this. Your Punch can actually be at different elevations. If you tilt the analog-stick downward when you throw your Punch or Grab, it will elevate and go at head-height, instead of torso-height to the opponent. With this, even if two Arms seem like they’re about to collide, if they are at different elevations, they won’t. There can be either High Attacks or Mid Attacks. Also, the ‘Blorb’ and ‘Glusher’ Arms bounce across the ground, or if you use the downward tilt technique, you can Arch them. You can even Arch Grabs! Overhead, instead of straight-forward. You can also Arch the ‘Bird’ Arms.

•Actually, in the rough prototype for ARMS, they actually had a Bowling Mode, as well as a first-person view Mode.
I also want Rush Attacks to replace by their unique special/finishing move. Just like final smashes from Smash Bros.
One request: the ability to play through arcade mode without being forced to complete the mini-games.
Oh and by the way I wish the ARMS people could revitalize the Custom Robo series with online multiplayer.

Arms is a game based mostly on streamlined prediction. So they need more variation in the movement and fighting to make it more exciting. For example, a hook on the ceiling that you can grapple onto with option of allowing you to swing across the arena very quickly OR the option to hang from the hook and punch with the other arm while still being suspended in the air. Alternative options are key to the gameplay and competitiveness.
I would like a ARMS action rpg where you have to parkour around town or maps to progress through a story mode.
Heck with them adding arms to smash they could make a platformer game like MegaMan.
I agree with everything you have said and well one think i will Love to see in Arms 2 is that the characters interact with each other talking with voice lines and that Stuff and even better a lot of cutscenes 🤩

The only thing that ARMS was missing was a story mode. Hopefully the developers will put that for ARMS 2.
i really want another arms game and i think uppercuts and maybe air grabs would be a really good combat update and supers would be so cool or maybe even some other character updates to make their fight styles feel more unique also skins we need new outfits and characters

What I want is for new ARMS fighters to have these occupations: Bounty Hunter, Gypsy Lady, Wizard/Witch/Warlock, Egyptian Pharaoh, Werewolf, Gentlemen, Caveman/Cavewoman, Chef, or Musician

These quite in depth theories about possible Mechanics I think that some of them will carry over albeit not exactly as you described others will not be their at all but their will be changes for the better and if the sequel is what Street Fighter 2 was to the OG street fighter then ARMS 2 will eclipse it's predecessor almost entirely.

Most likely it wouldn’t happen but It would be cool if we could make our own customizable character, like chose either 3 different body types or height and let us chose an ability from one of the characters to have for our own and chose the 3 default arms for them. The customization doesn’t even have to be complex like it could just have 3 hairstyles for each gender or something 🤷🏻♂️.

I may be one of the ONLY people who's nervous about ARMS 2 because weirdly enough, I think the first one is close to perfect.
Gameplay-wise anyway. I'm all for more single-player, characters, collectables, etc.
Also, I personally love that the story is somewhat hidden away in dialogue and artwork. There's a lot to infer that makes the world feel cohesive while maintaining its mystery
I think Splatoon has a good mix of lore that's directly told to you and lore you infer (like with the sunken scrolls). I hope ARMS 2 can pull something like that off!
