Isn't the Goddess of Explosions the mother of Hyoer Princess Pitch who fought Robot Santa and is made by Daniel Remar who is most well known for making Iji?
It's just a pure, precious thing, isn't it? Sometimes it's great to just sit down with friends and play a silly but surprisingly stable smash-like. Good press for the indie games they come from, too, so a smart move to make it.

I hadn't realized that the basic tutorial doesn't even mention the Clutch button. Clutch modifies various moves for various characters. For some characters/moves, this is minor, but it can be rather important for others.
I don't know about the other characters, but Princess Remedy actually had her own game: Princess Remedy in a World of Hurt. It was a really fun free-to-play puzzle game/ bullet hell where you heal everyone in the kingdom, and then choose someone to marry as your king.

Goddess of Explosions is the mother of Princess Pitch (Hyper Princess Pitch, a free game by Daniel Remar), but was also in Card City Nights. Business Casual Man doesn't have a home series, but has appeared in a few Ludosity titles.
There are some bonds between characters that are very strong. I feel like Matt and that girl in a cat kigurumi are one of those bonds. Maybe it's residual Night In The Woods feelings.
Ah, I see you guys've finally run into one of the best studios working today. Ludosity's stuff is great. Slap City's the best Smash-like out there, Card City Nights is just Triple Triad by way of the Pokemon TCG RPG, and Ittle Dew's a great little block-based puzzler. The Princess Remedy games are also really solid. I hope they continue to make cool new IPs after the success of Slap City, they really deserve it.
Should be noted that one thing that's sorta neat about this game is that its a huge crossover of creators other games. They have another cross over series in fact, card city nights is a fun little card game with a bunch of their characters and stuff too. At least I think these are cross over games, they keep bringing characters up in other games like the platypus duck that its hard to tell if these are crossover games or if all their games just sorta share characters. Good devs tho either way.
