    This type of content is truly one of the biggest reasons why I am so so proud to be part of the Shut Up and Go internet-ional family. Because whether you're shutting yourself up to go and book that solo trip to Paris or Palestine, the message still stands strong; shut up and go experience the country yourself. Absolutely cannot wait for this to drop.

    The first 23-minute short documentary in Tel Aviv was received pretty well, so I wanted to continue the series with this 29-minute short doc from my experience in the West Bank/Palestine.
    Like I said in the previous video, I think this part of the world has become the most fascinating adventure I have ever, ever been on. Check the description for a breakdown of the segments, if you ain't got the time and just want to skip around.
    Oh, and regardless of your view of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, I hope you sit back, relax, and enjoy the show (and learn something). Next up: Asking A Former Ultra-Orthodox Guy (who i met in a club) Every Question I Have About Jews and Judaism, and Everything You Need To Know For Your Trip to Israel & Palestine. Two more videos!

      "Your country" didn't 3exist until 1948. Before that it was called palestine. Jews left the middle east to north Africa THOSE ARE THE TRUE JEWS. I've been watching jews taking dna tests coming back 99% European whereas palestian take dna test and most of them.have 100% from the land of palestine. I'm sorry honey it's not your country.

    Great video Damon. A reminder why I love the work you do with this channel. You were curious and explored this issue despite how contentious it is. It is extremely disheartening to see what is happening in Palestine. There aren't much people that can cover this conflict without bias and it seems that you really did that. Much love

    This video made me so genuinely happy. I agree completely that travelling is not about seeing the touristy/instagramable part, but to get to know the people, to get to really understand their way of life. I love the fact that you try to portrait what actual palestinians think about this, and that despite it being a heated subject you went on and talked about it.

    My family is based in Ramallah. It is a literal journey trying to get to Jerusalem from Ramallah due to all the checkpoints enforced by the Israeli government. I’m an American citizen and every time we crossed a checkpoint, my relatives living in Palestine were severely interrogated and taunted by Israeli soldiers and when I tried to intervene after noticing some of them speak english, I would be questioned on what my motives were for visiting Palestine. It’s just sad that this is a daily occurrence for Palestinians

    • @sarabella8093
      @sarabella8093 5 лет назад +24

      SarahK23 just try to understand their point. If they didn’t have these checkpoints and they didn’t check Palestinian cars, do you know how many terrorist attacks and Israelis killed there would be? I know people who are soldiers at the checkpoint and they tell me how every single day there are Palestinian cars trying to come into Israel with weapons hidden in the trunk, knives hidden in Pringle boxes, and the army found out that those same Palestinians were planning to do terror attacks. All Israel wants to do is protect its citizens, and we have the right to.

      Sara Bella ok no, this is the most idiotic comment I’ve read. To begin with, you acknowledge the fact that Israel has and continues to build illegal settlements on land that belongs to Palestinians. In addition, you make ironic accusations against Palestinians claiming that WE are the ones stabbing “innocent” Israelis when in fact the opposite is true. Israel continues to implement genocide against tried and true innocent Palestinians and has been since 1948 so please get your facts in check and keep your delusional, fragmented, and falsely accusatory Israeli propaganda tf out of my mentions. Thank you, next.

Sigh....land

  • @teona4279

    This was great, and I agree that not enough people are being objective about this conflict. Everyone deserves to live in peace and live where they choose to. As someone who grew up with Native American teachings land disputes are always a rough thing for me. The land doesn't belong to anyone, everyone simply has a duty to invest in the place they call home and give it respect. These lands give us so much, and because of that we shouldn't be denying others the right to live and find growth in a land they choose to call home. That being said causing bloodshed, violence, producing hate, forcibly removing others from these places to call it yours or to live there isn't right. There is never really a right and a wrong in life, and if everything was that black and white so many conflicts or "wrongs" in this world would have quick and swift punishments.
    On to other things, how did you react to the sea? You were lookin' fiiiiine in dem shorts boo! Imagine if Tinder was open to both sides and people just had dates at the wall talk about peaceful resistance. Was there someplace you found the most beautiful or most interesting that wasn't in the video? And your black and white joke at the end made me laugh. Thanks for the video and as always in all the videos produced on this channel going through things with an open mind.
    Some people said you should think about travel journalism in the premiere comments and I would agree, you could do that really well and still keep the current format you're comfortable with.

    • @DamonAndJo
      @DamonAndJo  5 лет назад +9

      You spent TIME on that comment and I appreciate it ❤️
      For the entire time in Israel and Palestine, I kept thinking of how similar it was/is in terms of the Native American land. Every time I explained the situation to friends and family, I used that example.
      In terms of my favorite place or moment, I can truly say that the Banksy Walled Off Hotel was just so crazy fascinating to me. That, and when I met the German family in my dorm. I honestly want to go to Berlin and hang out with them!
      The only issue I have with traditional travel journalism is that there isn't much room for jokes, as some subjects are extremely sensitive. I enjoy making this type of content, but I also love making lighthearted, feel-good content!
      Thank you again for leaving such an in-depth comment. We try to read comments every day! 😬
