Thank you for this video! I've been wanting this style for a while now, and didn't know if I would be able to braid it without as much hair in the back. Now I know and feel more confident about asking for this whenever I find a hair dresser!
I hope it'll become trendy as the man bun last year, I like this haircut because it's so easy to maintain and the haircut doesn't "fall off" or just breaks apart like other hair styles do after the wax stops working on your hair after a long period of time.
The only question is;How do you get a friend that is a girl to do this for you at school?

It's an African braid. France colonized Africa & appropriated it's land, people & culture. Renamed "French braid". Anyone over 5yrs in America know those braids as CORNROWS. Cultural appreciation is alive & well. Some whites have no pride to blatantly watch & COPY Black RUclips tutorials. They then RE-NAME & CLAIM a centuries old ethnic (functional) hairstyle. Its neo colonization. BTW a viking was an occupation not a culture.

Practice it with your eyes closed, it makes your brain understand the process of it without looking into a mirror and controlling movement based on your sight.

I have hair on the sides and part of my spiritual belief is to grow all of the hair on the top of my head. It's personal and may sound weird but it's what I believe in. Is there anyway to add some braids in on the side or is there another vid showing this. I'm a white guy with long semi curly hair and I need to do something more than ponytails at this time

The camera cuts make it impossible to follow along with what the fingers are actually doing. I'm trying to use this as a guide, but I can't because I can't actually see the individual steps in the process. The end result looks great, but I have no clue how it got there.

Just cut my hair into a mohawk and the stylist put in a braid for me and it looked awesome! I told my bf I needed him to learn how to do it for me, this is the perfect video to show him!

There is very little on how the Norse styled their hair, and what few depictions we have be it brief descriptions or ship carvings, look nothing like the "Viking" hair styles we see in media. This is similar to the Viking horned helmets that never existed lol
@@bug3518 actually it was very custom for them to braod there hair. They were big on hair care and there are many dipictions and artworks from the past that have them in braids
