THANK YOU! I was trying to do this style because it's my first braid and looks fairly basic compared to some, but my technique was bad and my hair was all over the place. Your tutorial saved me a lot of headache, metaphorically and physically.
Thankyou for showing styles for men. I am at this moment attempting this one. I am having trouble as I am very new to french braiding, but I shall persevere. :)
+Apollo Olympos Good luck! Honestly it took me a long while to master it, but I also had to figure out how to do it all by myself because I knew no one who could do it. Hopefully it goes faster for you!
***** Thanks for the encouragement. My plaits are still rather messy, however they are getting slowly getting better. It is nice to have alternatives to either wearing my hair down or in a ponytail. Thanks for uploading male appropriate styles.
You make this look so easy, I've been trying and trying... It's like my hands have developed a mind of their own that's got some twisted ego and doesn't give two ticks about what you actually want =PPP My arms hurt but Imma keep at it
Unless you play a select few sports, you rarely need to hold your hands behind your head to do dexterous work. Hard as hell! I'm trying to learn these at the same time as guitar and my arms HATE me lol
I swear I’ve been trying to learn to French braid hair for like 6 years and the way you explained it finally got it to click and I was putting like 4 French braids into my boyfriends hair lol.
I do not comment often but your tutorials are great, i couldn't find a video so well explainted and showed, others just tell u what to do but don't show it really.
There’s a Danish book called Wikinger - it’s a step by step guide to authentic 20 or so viking hair styles, men and women. Might be worth having a look at for more tutorials. Most involve some French braiding. Only issue is it’s all in Danish so I’ve spending a lot of my time studying the pictures. Your tutorial help explained some of the aspects I wasn’t too sure on. Thank you.
I have a beard that I have been braiding for a while, it is pretty viking-ish when I'm done. I also have long, flowing, Norse locks. I don't know why it took me this long to find your tutorials, but they fit perfectly for what I'm doing, and I didn't even know I was doing it so thank you!
Wow, thank you so much, I was wearing my hair as a top knot samurai look for the longest and I never thought I would find another hairstyle I liked. This look takes a little more work but it looks fantastic. Thank you.
Thank you so much! I'm letting my hair grow out for the fall (but going to keep getting the sides & back shaved) and this is one of the very few Viking braid tutorials I could find! I've got terrible hand-eye coordination, so it's going to take me a while, but now I have a good reference!
I started braiding my hair with this tutorial. I already had been shaving my sides and back myself for a while, but had been using a manbun. I have curly/wavy hair and it's extremely thick, so I can tell you that learning this was a pain. If I can do it, you can! Managed to find some weird technique and it works. Was way more tiring the first times but still take a while. After getting more comfortable with French Braiding, I've experimented with smaller braids into larger ones etc. Once I grow just a little bit more hair/soon, I will try Ragnar's style where there's 3 main French Braids into a large braid at the back. With my type of hair it can get really fuzzy - which is fine for viking hair, but the pattern can get a bit lost. Gonna experiment with more hair at once added in once past the forehead. Otherwise I have to have the strands really taut. And centered. There is a reverse French Braid iirc? Gonna have to look that up too.
I love your channel. All the hairstyles I've always wanted to do, simplified and your hair is similar to mine. This is one of my favourites! And no teasing!!
You're hair is absolutely gorgeous, mines just a little lighter but so thick it's hard to braid by myself so I get my wife to do it in 3 fishbone cornrows. Best way to have it long but shrink it up so it's not flopping around everywhere. I really don't think I'll ever cut my hair again lol.
I finally did the ragnar braid. It turned out great! What type of braids that women usually wear do you think would like good on men, especially from tutorials you have already done? Another question: Is it common to leave up braids that take a rather long time for several days? Thanks!
This is sooo cool to do for work ! i don't have my front hair on myeyes while i'm working ! I managed the french braid, but i was trying to add one or two small accent french braids (or dutch depends on the days) on side of my head, still can't get it with smaller parts of hair, especially the beginning looks weird. Your tutorials are always so instructive ! (Vikings ones are my favorites) I never did anything other than ying my hair in a ponytail sometimes and now thanks to your channel i'm addicted to braided hairstyles !
I just started a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (grappling) class. That basically means that my moderately thick, shoulder length, sometimes curly and usually frizzy hair has been a nightmare to contain. I started with a ponytail, which fell out four times in the first class, and then two dutch braids, which have been a problem because the elastics slide out when I'm pinned down and fighting my way out of a headlock. I decided to put my considerable braiding skills to use, and using combination of this style, your Ragnar season 1 look, and some of Lagertha's side dutch braids, I've managed to get my hair mostly under control.
what a coincidence, I have shoulder length curly hair and Ive been doing mma for some years but my hair is at its longest rn, and I recently started BJJ a few weeks back and I tie it in a bun and even put some type of bandana/durag thing on my head to keep it in control but at least once a class it all falls out and mess up everything😧I try to get these tutorials since yesterday this is the best so far but still get confused, wish it would be more detailed😔 I dont get the adding more hair part, anyways how its training since you started in july?
Awesome tutorial, I've been wanting to learn to French braid my hair so it's less of a pain during sca combat. I'm going to give this a try. Also, I very well could be wrong but, I think it's Bjørn. As far as I understand the umlaut makes the vowel longer.
Loved this! However, there are two shows for which I think it would be great if you did tutorials. One is Black Sails, and another is Marco Polo. Both have lovely men's hairstyles and I'm dying to find decent tutorials on those! Hope you do those
Thanks for this video, it's very easy to follow. I have the sides of my head shaved and i recently let my girlfriend braid my hair and i like the way it looked, now i'm gonna have to try and do it on my own!
amazing I did just discovered your channel like a minutes ago and I'm already fan! thank you for your awesome tutorials my fiancé.e and Myself are having so much fun trying those! keep going you're doing a great job :)
I love your tutorials. I don't have the sideshave, but just an undercut (at the back of my head), so this will take some altering to work. But for some reason I could not figure out clubbing for the life of me. So thanks.
So I do this style for my husband almost every day because he has the haircut and I came across this video today. And I thought my hair is about her length I should do this. I didn’t account for the volume of my hair which rivals hermione in the first Harry Potter movie if I brush out my curls which you have to do for this lmao. Needless to say I have a beehive of 1960’s proportions once I tucked the braid. I look rediculous 🤣. This style looks great on my husbands fine straight hair. I’ll have to flat iron if I want it to look not crazy 😝
This is nice, and I actually did something similar to this (only I shaved the sides of my head like Bjorn) because my mother kept nagging me to get a hair cut.
This is actually a really versatile hairstyle, can experiment a lot with this. Also, can you do the style's that The Ragnarsson's wear, like Hvitserk and Sigurd? It would be interesting to see those styles with your personal touch.
This is really hard actually. I've tried it multiple times without actually completing it properly but I am slowly making progress. Maybe in like 3 months I'll be able to do it... that is if I don't shorten my hair till then.
The main thing I just can't seem to get when it comes to French braiding is I'm not sure how much hair I should be adding in from the side. Like... if I try and grab a piece that's around the same size as the original 3 strands, it seems like I end up having too much hair left over in the middle of my head? If that makes sense. But if I try grabbing a bigger piece then it doesn't want to properly integrate into the strand. Plus, my fingers naturally want to pass the hair UNDER instead of OVER when crossing but I don't know if that really makes a difference? Like should I train myself to pass it over, or is it fine to do it under if that's what's easier for me? Idunno! Either way, this is one of the better hair braiding tutorials I've managed to find so I'll be sure to just keep practicing.
You have a sweet and charming personality, are talented with hair, and you are very beautiful. Keep up the good work! *Those next door neighbor girls who always snicker at you are just jealous.* You have provided me great advice for the ragnar lothbrok braid by the way, so thank you!
Your videos are GREAT? Wonderful explanations, you make it very simple to do. I know most of these aren't technically braids could you possibly do a video on how to do all of Thor's hair styles from the Marvel movies (Thor and Avengers).
Thank you so much... i just learned... you are beautifull and sweet. The most important thing is the way you use your hands. When i made the same movement... with the hand's back for the same side as you do, it was really easy... of course i have to make more times but it is very simple... just because of you.. agreat teacher...kisses from Rio de Janeiro
Wish I could do this.. Lol, I can braid hair IF I'm looking at the back of the head. I don't have the coordination to braid my own hair though. Lol. Have that long top, with shaved sides but it's only ever in a pony tail.
If you actually have an undercut shaved in already..should hair be added in OR what I'm guessing is no. All the hair is a simply ready to braid, correct? Thanks again! Do you prefer this braid or the "Dragon" braid which is just a small section of hair French braided into/overlapping the next small braided section & so on until you reach the end or just tie it off in the back. I prefer the braid to go all the way but a man bun (I hate that term lol) is not exactly much easier but instead very quick for a different look. I'd love to see some variant of this undercut dragon braid style - if there is one, lol. I certainly don't know braids like you do! Again, what do you like better? A French braid down the middle or the "Dragon" thing. I like both but the dragon braid gives the illusion of more hair however it's not tight at all & can be taken out every 24-48 hours... #MerciBeaucoup 😉
Very nice and detailed tutorial. But, as a guy having never braided any hair before this is straight up impossible. So unless you're naturally talented at this, just ask someone else to do it for you or go to a saloon.
+ the fact that in the evening you're gonna untie your hair anyway, it sounds like a disaster. I mean, I'd probably break out my hair from the scalp by accident rather than untie that chaos, especially if you have dry, weak, puffy hair
THANK YOU! I was trying to do this style because it's my first braid and looks fairly basic compared to some, but my technique was bad and my hair was all over the place. Your tutorial saved me a lot of headache, metaphorically and physically.

This is the best French braid tutorial I've ever seen. I've never quite figured out how to hold all the pieces, thank you for showing how!!
You make this look so easy, I've been trying and trying... It's like my hands have developed a mind of their own that's got some twisted ego and doesn't give two ticks about what you actually want =PPP My arms hurt but Imma keep at it

MY ARMS ACHE but my hair looks fantastic
mine don't ache, they BURN
Yeah, nobody ever told me that braiding my hair would be a workout.
@@blue_caduceus592 im Getting it done feel like in a snoop dogg video
Yeah and I wanna cry cause I dont get it done
@Garrus Vakarian 😂😂
My friend just braided my hair last week and now I'm trying to learn to do it myself. Love the Viking look, thanks for the tips!
I do not comment often but your tutorials are great, i couldn't find a video so well explainted and showed, others just tell u what to do but don't show it really.

This is how my boyfriend likes his hair done, and I might have finally found a tutorial I can actually follow, thank you very much.
I've been needing more hairstyles to do with my undercut. Thank you so much for this!
this is the best braid tutorial ever
tried this. no chance with my hair, but at least one video that is comprehensible and show what to do. Awesome
I started braiding my hair with this tutorial. I already had been shaving my sides and back myself for a while, but had been using a manbun.

I have really short hair and tried this and i did it in my first try. its so beautiful 😍
I like this! I'm growing my hair during lockdown, so I can have this hair style.

To any men watching this video: modern society severely undervalues intricate hairstyles for men. Pleeease do more hairstyles like this!
As a man trying to learn braids good to know people will actually appreciate it. The back lash from family and classmates has been kinda brutal lol
Awesome. Thanks. Still can't do it myself, but my wife can. I appreciate you.
love that you do hairstyles for men! :)
can you do some more everyday hairstyles for men with long hair, my boyfriend would love those xx
This is my go-to hair style. Has been more or less since you've uploaded this.
Thanks for the help!
She makes it look so easy
I wanted a Björn hairstyle ,and I'm very happy to try this one :)
I've wanted to learn his style for so long now, thank you!
My hair is no long enough to do any of these, but I really like watching it. Pretty cool stuff, hopefully I can try one of them next year.
Awesome! Love that you do braids for men and your videos are very easy to follow.
I've tried this maybe a thousand times and still can't get it. Being bald is much easier.
have to spend more money on sunscreen though
I finally did the ragnar braid. It turned out great! What type of braids that women usually wear do you think would like good on men, especially from tutorials you have already done? Another question: Is it common to leave up braids that take a rather long time for several days? Thanks!
Sokami Mashibe most girls wear a Dutch braid for 2 days at a time or more
I rather have long luscious hair that I can do this with and other Viking haircuts
I feel ya, can never get past the first part 😩

I can make braided bracelets just fine but this, this is a whole new level. Gonna keep trying though.
Ah! This braid is perfect for my mohawk! I'm absolute garbage at french braiding but hopefully this video will help! Thanks!

This seems simple my husband has been BEGGING me to french braid his hair 1st try tonight 🤞🤞🤞🤞
Thank you for the help! Your hair is incredible.
30minutes in and it feels like ive done a full shoulder press gym session XD #pain
I finally got it to work!! Thank you!!!
The other videos are really nice. Gotta try them on my hair too. Thnx.
I actually did this on my boyfriend... It took ages ahaha but it was really great. You have wonderful tutorials going on, thank you!!

yo I am like... REALLY enjoying this.
thank you thank you thank you love the way you teach
Omg yes you’re amazing going to try today!
I didn't know I wanted this, thank you!
"Ohhh yeah this is gonna be easy"... 1:21 "Welp this is impossible"
Love this hairstyle so much ❤️
Viking Fest is coming up on Sep. 22nd this year. Will definitely share.
I was looking for this one! Thank you so much! As awesome as aways :)
i love how you explain it, you know how to use your words haha i learned the rope braid in another video :P

Girl, you made my day! Thanks for tutorial! :D
Beautifil hair, beautiful colour, please : never cut it off ! Greetings from France !
I've never laughed as hard while watching a hair tutorial as I did when I heard you say hair hernia...... Thank you for that.
HAIR HERNIA!! LOL 😂 😂 Oh lord, that was so funny!
this isn’t easy like the title claims
Skill issue
Welcome to my world I'm a man with an undercut and wish I could braid I'm fuming that I suck 😢
Season 1 Sansa has her own YT channel!!!!! 😍
Would be nice if you can do a tutorial on how to position the fingers , etc
You have some really cool videos. I love your hair ;)
I did my best and it look awesome
right on!
The red hair makes this even better. I stil cant braid my hair tho after watching this 50 times but that's me
Please, do Thor's hairstyle from Age of Ultron
And perhaps some hairstyles with medium length hair (chin level)?
This is nice, and I actually did something similar to this (only I shaved the sides of my head like Bjorn) because my mother kept nagging me to get a hair cut.
Thank you so much ! 😍❤️
thanks for doing this now I am doing it to
Great tutorials, thanks!
I've been trying braiding my hair and my arms feel exhausted, haven't braided in like 10 years, who knew it was so much work!
work dem muscles!
sansa 🤩

I'm planning for that video really soon! Definitely before the second half of the season premieres. I'm really excited to try them all.
***** Goody goody! Cant wait :D
My arms hurt, but I need to learn this! xD
This looks awesome, I hope I have the ability to do it lol
I love hairstyles like these! I do the easier styles on myself and the more intricate ones on my little sister.
This is crazy difficult lol. But I wanna do it so bad. Might show this video to my missus and see if she can do it.
This movie was great
Happy braids
You're such a beautiful soul 💛
This is really hard actually. I've tried it multiple times without actually completing it properly but I am slowly making progress. Maybe in like 3 months I'll be able to do it... that is if I don't shorten my hair till then.
The main thing I just can't seem to get when it comes to French braiding is I'm not sure how much hair I should be adding in from the side. Like... if I try and grab a piece that's around the same size as the original 3 strands, it seems like I end up having too much hair left over in the middle of my head? If that makes sense.

I know it's not Viking hair, but would you consider doing a Subian knot? The style worn by Osterby Man, a bog body from Germany in the Late Iron Age.
Merci 😉
Your videos are GREAT? Wonderful explanations, you make it very simple to do. I know most of these aren't technically braids could you possibly do a video on how to do all of Thor's hair styles from the Marvel movies (Thor and Avengers).

Very cool!! :)
Wish I could do this.. Lol, I can braid hair IF I'm looking at the back of the head. I don't have the coordination to braid my own hair though. Lol. Have that long top, with shaved sides but it's only ever in a pony tail.
when she jokes about shaving the rest of your hair, but you have done exactly that xD
SWEET!
Nice! Thanks a lot!
I’m new to braiding like this... and I’m a girl. Which is sad. But I will continue to practice!!
My sister and mom are already tired of making my braids...
And I don't wanna go to the salon 😞 I guess I'll need to practice on someone's hair...
+ the fact that in the evening you're gonna untie your hair anyway, it sounds like a disaster. I mean, I'd probably break out my hair from the scalp by accident rather than untie that chaos, especially if you have dry, weak, puffy hair
A lot of it is practice
It's not like girls pop out of the womb knowing how to braid. All it takes is practice, I'm sure you'll get it in no time!
is it possible to continue the braid down the neck not using anything from the side of the head just on the neck?
