As soon as you guys started reading through some of these abilities, I decided that I'm gonna play a Heavy Metal Barbarian as soon as possible. This is so fucking cool
I can already think of a couple musical themed abilities you could add to this subclass: - A Jimmy Hendrix style ability where you light your instrument weapon on fire and deal extra fire damage when you hit with it - A Kiss style ability where you’re immune to the charmed condition - An ability called We’re Not Going To Take It where you give yourself advantage on a saving throw against a spell effect or something
I tried REALLY freaking hard to make something like this (a bard-barian) work, and couldn’t for the life of me figure out how and still make it interesting. This is definitely the interesting spin I wanted. But this somehow still feels… wanting?? Idk. I’m super new to D&D still but barbarians barely get anything with their subclasses it seems
So, this might actually work well with duel wielding as the bonus damage from the third attack is pretty nice. Assuming you are able to hit all three attacks on the first turn that is a plus 3 damage buff to the first attack on your next turn, and plus 6 damage buff on your third turn by 5th level which is insane.
My buddy love playing Barbarian and barbarian adjacent classes. Order of the Lycan and such. This one might peak his interest as he wants to be more useful in non direct combat situations and loves his two handed axe!!
Nigel: ...if we need that extra push over the cliff, you know what we do? Martin: Put it up to eleven. Nigel: Eleven. Exactly. One louder. Martin: Why don't you just make ten louder and make ten be the top number and make that a little louder? [Pause] Nigel: These go to eleven.
Hm, not a fan, it feels kind of weak. How I would do it (I mean no one cares, but eh I like thinking about it): Keep heavy metal axe, have it make you trained in performance and intimidation too. 3rd level: Deathening Chord. Once per rage, as a bonus action, you play an overwhelming chord. Creatures of your choice within 30 feet of you make a fortitude save (half on fail) or take 1d12 thunder damage for each rage bonus damage you have. Deafened for 1 round on a failed save. 6th level: Guns and Poses When you make a charisma check, gain a bonus equal to your strength modifier. 10th Level: Headbangers You inspire a rocking frenzy in your allies with your performance. When you use deathening chord, you and any allies within 30 feet of you may make an unarmed attack with their forehead as a reaction. Your allies may use your unarmed attack bonus for this attack. The attack deals 1d6+strength modifier damage. Your allies apply your brutal critical and rage damage bonuses to this attack. 14th level: Endless solo While raging, when you reduce a hostile creature to 0 hit points with a weapon attack, you can use deathening clang once again during this rage.
My go to instrument would have to be a Warhammer Saxophone, where you could either play it like normal, or thematically when you swing it around as an attack, the wind rushing through it makes it play a bit
Multi-class with Scofflaw fighter. 14 barb, 3 fighter: rage, solo, solo ends, smash axe, pick up chair, smash chair, grab 2 legs, start drumming on enemies. Also can use strengh/dex for performance checks during combat. Alternatively go 15 fighter 3 barb and intimidate your foes with the power of your metal.

"it will be amazing with dual wielding" No, it will not. Your instrumental weapon have to be two handed weapon. So you cannot play there head with the drumsticks. On the other end, you can still bit your enemy with the whole drum.
Dude, you have dragon wings obstructing your "barbarian shirt". Be aware of the camera and reduce the minis on the table. We're not here for the dragon minis, we're here to listen to you two discuss D&D. Actually, it's not that big of a deal, it just looked ridiculous that you were promoting the shirt and we couldn't see it because of the clutter of the desk blocking the view.

The Heavy Metal Barbarian
For the barbarian who’s Rage is literally an artform
Behold, the Bardarian
Long live Connan, King of Bard-barians!
As soon as you guys started reading through some of these abilities, I decided that I'm gonna play a Heavy Metal Barbarian as soon as possible. This is so fucking cool
Cool? More like metal
Angry man running at incredible speeds (now with battle music!)
My 80s heavy metal heart has found its spirit animal ^.^
Its like a Hunting Horn user from Monster Hunter but with the benefits of hitting harder, I sure many have been wait for a barbarian like this!
I love hunting horn!
Ok I dont normally watch these but HOLY FUCK I WANT IT NOW

Solo Shredding and Killer Vocals are the best.
BRUTAL LEGENDS YES! DECAPITATION!!!!!!!!!
Ready to rock!!
would that make a heavy metal barb that dips into hex blade Death Metal?
This kind of makes me think of CR campaign 2 Yasha and her bone harp 😅

That’s a fair conclusion. Martial type classes tend to be a bit more simple when compared to caster classes. Thanks for watching!

Just finished a year long campaign where I played a gnoll Bardbarian, mostly a bard but a few levels in barbarian this would have been useful.

The BardBarian fusion we all needed :D

These videos really help me flesh out my sub classes thanks for your time guyss
Finally, I can roleplay a Mon-Hun hunting horn without looking like a fool.
Bagpipe Grateclub ftw!
But can you cast Vicious Mockery.
Yes when not raging after taking magic initiate feat

Dope content, as always!

Could you use up to 11 on history check? I play the ballet of the lich lords black brew to remember the history of this small town! 🤘
I have never seen a ttrpg have a playable thing make me happier to be alive
Good I want this bundle so badly
Damn i want that bundesweit to it has so many different subclasses
This is really fun!
Nice, E.T.C is now playable.
My thoughts exactly!
bardbarian
all my barbarians are heavy metal... looks like now I can actually make music
I would likem more options to deal thunder damage.
U guys make great videos
If someone doesn't make a Way of the Heavy Metal Bard-barian who is multi classed with Warlock as a Pick of Destiny refrence I will be sad.
HA!! This class is perfect for Eddie Riggs from the Wii game Brutal Legends!!!
Happy Hands! Interesting barbarian, but not a class I will ever have a chance to play.
This Bardbarian should have been a thing long ago.
Couldn't see the barbarian shirt clearly due to the white dragon wing in the way

@@URGE nice
The Bardbarian
This seems just like a fun subclass, not optimized or anything.
Hi, nice video
at lvl 14, sublass into a artificer... heee heeee
???
There's a dragon in front of your shirt bruv
"it will be amazing with dual wielding"

little drummer boy.....dwarf dual weilder with a 3 section staff
I don't think that the bonus to hit needs to be twice your PB that is a very strong maybe it should be twice your rage bonus
It’s not to hit it’s the rage damage. At level three when you hit the +2 rage damage goes up when it hits.
Two weapon barbarian using maraca clubs lol
If you use this subclass and you don't yell decapitation after killing the bbeg are you really playing?
I thought this was official content, and was deeply made sad to learn this wasn’t official
Big sad
