Can you do this is any state? I live in louisiana, also seen the problems with mini bikes in california. I used to live there. I would love to make a mini bike a "moped" so i dont have to run from cops and be able to commute safely. Any tips and tricks?

Hey buddy i need some help and you seem to have this down. I bougt a 150cc motorcycle from a friend that looks somewhat like a moped. If i slap 80cc stickers on the motor and make my own vin i can register it as a moped? Do you have to get inspection?? I can simply make my own vin plate and write a bill of sale from joe shmoe? Well, depends on whether that bike has a serial number. I registered mine as an "assembled" moped. A manufactured bike will likely need a title and plate.
@northminibikes I mean I've done a bunch of work to it to get back kn the road couldn't I just say I bought the frame from this guy down the road here's the serial number on it?

you just need some part of the bike, frame, engine, whatever to have some sort of traceable number on it. If you don't have any numbers then you can make your own like i did as long as it's on the frame, then you can make a bill of sale to yourself showing a cost of whatever and the number.
This is exactly what I did in SC three years ago.. been riding everywhere ever since !!
