- The first short film on the premier bicycle stage race in the U.S. in the 70s. The only stage race to finish with a Miss and Out, normally a race for the velodrome. Used by permission of the Race Director and film producer.

How cool! I was there the day of the race at Boulder park..I was nine years old and I remember standing next to Susan Saint James while she talked into a bullhorn to the crowd. My dads cousin, John Howard, had won the race the two years before. Thanks for this video, it brought back some memories!
I remember John Howard. He was born in Springfield, MO and I remember when he won the triathlon. He is a great competitor. He had to work hard on his swimming but was faster than everyone on the bike.
Boulder was a lot smaller then. And you can't run a bike race on McCaslin Blvd anymore. And the spectators were a lot fitter.
