I just lost my mother on the 29th ... You give me good mom / lovely mom vibes ❤ Thanks for being here teaching me things as a newbie to the IP community !
Oh I'm so very sorry for your loss. Cooking can be a safe place sometimes when we are in grief and I hope you find some comfort and nourishment in your cooking experiments with the IP, as I have. Take care of you in this difficult time. 💛
Your video style is so soothing! It's rare to find a video that doesn't rush through everything these days. It was like cooking with my late grandma, slow and steady. Thanks for the comforting experience!
Hi, i heard you say in an older video that you have many models of insta pots. Can't find anywhere where you mention your favorite. If you were only going to have one, which one would you buy?
Hi there, my favourite tends to change and it does depend on how you like to cook to some extent. I also haven't tried out so many of the models so I can only speak to the ones I've owned. But here goes...I'd say today as I write this , the Instant Pot Pro Crisp is my favourite- this is because it's large size and I do a lot of batch cooking, has the new version of the pot with handles which I love and I like the air fryer lid as I cook roast chicken a lot and it does a great job. If it wasn't for the chicken roasting, I think the Instant Pot Pro and a separate drawer style air fryer is a great set up. ( I'm lucky enough to have a drawer style air fryer too and generally rate them better). For the model I've had that's lasted years, I found the Instant Pot Duo Crisp to be really brilliant but I donated it when I got the Pro version with the new inner pot. The only model I've had any trouble with is the Instant Pot Duo Crisp with Ultimate Lid and I don't recommend that one. Hope that helps :)
I only recently switched to turning the keep warm off when I make rice, I find that if I leave it on the rice gets stuck to the bottom of the pot, when the keep warm is off the rice sticks much less. I also really like to turn the Keep Warm off if I'm making pasta in the instant pot so that it's less likely to burn to the bottom.
Hi there and welcome. You'll find some beginner recipes on this playlist : studio.ruclips.net/user/playlistPLm6fPlrI_KbLv-9gtqVW5pchnNV0PJsny/videos and you'll see a lot of videos with the Instant Pot Duo Crisp that should work fine with the Pro Crisp (if you're on my newsletter list you can contact me via that or via my website and I'll always try and help if I can)
Hi, madame! 1- I have the 6-quart Instant Pot, and I really like it. I'm thinking of giving one as a gift and wonder if the Instant Pot DUO cooks the same way and just as quickly for things like rice (I never measure, and it always turns out great). 2- Does the size of the pot affect cooking time (making it significantly longer or shorter)? I like you videos.
Hi there and thank you. The Instant Pot Pro is a TINY but quicker but not so much that you'd really notice and the pot size doesn't make any significant difference either, just a tiny bit slower to pressure because there's a little more water to heat. I wouldn't worry- and what a lovely gift! I'm sure they will be really happy.
Hi Sandra and welcome. Yes I do, you'll find some beginner recipes on this playlist studio.ruclips.net/user/playlistPLm6fPlrI_KbLv-9gtqVW5pchnNV0PJsny/videos (if you're on my newsletter list you can contact me via that or via my website and I'll always try and help if I can)
The main problem that I've had with the instant pot is that when coming up to pressure sometimes the float valve doesn't come up properly and I end up having to jiggle the lid about for it to come up.. So what can happen if you're not careful Is that you end up with the the room filled with steam and a pressure cooker with no water In it with burned food.. Well, that's been my experience with the instant pot duo 7 in one which I purchased in 2016. Now it's all well and good if you are stood over it when it comes up to pressure but I have no confidence in going out and leaving it to come on automatically I just wondered if you've had a similar problem and if you find one model with I assume a different lid better with regards to this problem? Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Hi Dennis and thanks for sharing that - I'm sorry to hear that. It must take some of the joy out of using it. No I've never had that happen with the Instant Pots I've had. It sounds like the float valve or something between the different sealing mechanisms isn't quite interacting correctly. If you haven't already done this, I'd take the lid apart (including that little rubber cap that holds the float valve in the lid) and give it all a good clean and soak on the off-chance there's something microscopic and sticky hanging around somewhere hidden. If you've already done all of that, it could be worth asking Instant Pot as maybe they can suggest a likely root cause and offer a replacement part if so (you never know!). I don't set the pressure cooker away and then leave home - for me it's more about not needing to be there when it finishes and being able to get on with other things at home. That Duo model was my first model of Instant Pot too - it's ages since I've used it but it's the only not in use that I haven't yet donated. I keep meaning to but I'm a bit sentimental about it! In terms of the rest of the models and reliability, I've had good experience with all of them I've had except the Ultimate Lid ( I don't recommend that one). I hope that helps and your IP gets sorted out or you get a new one you like 👍
Hi there, Oh I’ve not been asked that one before. I just went and tried it, and the start button feels and clicks (muffled click) exactly the same as those similar size buttons on the panel (cancel, keep warm etc) 👍
Long shot but is there still a bit of packaging paper over the button. I didn't notice it immediately on one of mine so you never know! ruclips.net/user/shortshdjrlCplijs
Hi! Love your videos! I want to buy my first instant pot but after doing some research I still cannot decide which model would be best. I want one that is over 6L since I like to have leftovers. I like to cook healthy meals and rice, soups, and stews. I used to use my slow cooker for stews and had never used a pressure cooker. Which model would you recommend? Is the price for the instant pro worth it compared to the duo? of the duo, which is best the regular duo or duo evo plus? I’d love to receive your feedback :)
Hi there and thanks so much! I literally just posted a video to help with this. It should help you decide what would work best. Pressure cooking then ‘keep warm’ is so good for the kind of foods you’re eating and I think if you go in with your experiment head on, you’ll really enjoy the transition from slow cooks to pressure cooking: ruclips.net/video/68Nzx9cRbRU/видео.htmlsi=NWUpSBaqnyGDQ18y
Hi there, for some reason, Instant Pot doesn't give you the option to set to 0 minutes in this model (I have a review on it here). A bit annoying but I just set a timer on my phone. I've no idea why they change things sometimes. The video on my views after 6 months with it is here if you're interested: ruclips.net/video/WxrbMFXSR38/видео.htmlsi=bPniBtJTx2kvWssr

Thanks so much. I couldn't do that high energy thing if I tried ! 😊
I learned from Helen Renne that using the IP on the slow cooker setting, or my 3 quart on the high warm setting works perfectly for beans.
Yes I saw that video too - she's amazing! I pressure cook mine but do pre-soak and brine. Works great for me.
Dear Madam, your delivery, speech and of course, the British accent English is really something. Kind regards.
thank you so much - that's very kind
Hi, yes would love a video on the burn notice
Hi Ellen and thanks for that. It's definitely a bit of a challenge at first. I'll get that on my list 👍😊
The burn notice is almost the entire reason I barely use my instant pot - so yes! I'd love a video about it!
oh in that case, it shall be done!
more recipes plz!!! love you chanel
Ah that's lovely! More to come!
Great to see you back! I'd love a burn notice video please.
ah thank you 😊. Definitely on the list now
Yes, I'd appreciate a "burn notice" video! Thank you for your wonderfully calming channel. :)
I've got it on my list now- thank you😊

Yes I would be interested in a video on the burn 🔥 notification
Thanks Maryann - I'll get that on the list
Thanks ! All your videos are extremely informative and helpful! Love everything about them !
So nice of you 😊
I just bought the instant pot pro crisp, and I'm a beginner! I'll wait patiently for your new videos. Thank you for all the tips

Question, does the start button on the pro feel softer than the other buttons with a less clicking sound?

@ Thank u. I had just purchased the pro the other day and noticed this the feel/touch is there it just does “click” like the others..

Where can I buy the extra pot
They are usually official Instant Pot ones on Amazon and here in the UK also on the Instant Pot Site so check for your country there too 👍
Speaking of broccoli....My Pro won't let me use 0 minutes. I had to use 1 minute. Same for you all??

Nice video but please lose the background "no" voice (and similar) in future videos, it's highly irritating.
👍
Thank you 👍
