    Hey Andy and Austin, sitting here in Oaxaca City, Mexico. Clocking in at about 80 degrees so no need for a Propex at this point in time...oh and you Colorado Boys are crazy! Happy Travels.

    where in the video is that part where you show us exactly what the Propex looks like and where it is installed in the van? I am trying to figure out where I need (or don't) the under-bed storage boxes and was wondering where the Propex lives. (I will also need A/C when the time comes to buy Wilma or Wilford). Also need to know the smartest configuration for the dog to get herself up into the bed.

      Thanks for the Q! Here's a different video that goes a bit deeper on the Propex heater; location, performance, etc. Check it out! ruclips.net/video/lVmiJGhGm_g/видео.html
      re: doggo in bed, it depends how big she is. Most of our four-legged Wayfarian friends hop into the bed using the boot box 🐶

    I just used the build your van tool and by the time you add anything other than walls and cabinets it’s the same if not MORE than what a custom builder charges. The business model SEEMS like you’re saving money but just wait. I won’t even mention the fact a build from this company just 4 years ago was 9K! Now it’s 24k for the bare minimum build!

      Hey-oh! We'd like to clear that air here on price - our builds start at $21,200 - and while we did make a necessary price increase in 2022 (COVID, supply chain issues, cost of living, etc), we paired that with many enhancements and some incredible new materials and hardware. Here's a video that goes through our first and second generation vans side-by-side: ruclips.net/video/Us7VzsI0Vik/видео.htmlsi=QgC496ykccreaeRI
      There might be cheaper options for a camper van conversion but we'll go to bat any day on the quality of our work 😎

    I see Propex makes many different heaters. You never mentioned which one you guys are using and what unit do you believe is best suited for elevations up to 5000 or 10,000 feet?

      @@WayfarerVans Obviously there are variables but how long can I expect the two 5 pound tanks last? Could I expect a single 5 pound tank to last one night or longer if it is conditions like you had? BTW, my wife and I cant sleep in 60 degrees comfortably. would that unit take it to 68 or even 70 at maybe 10-15 degrees outside? Did I see an automatic valve for flipping from one tank to the other in you accessories set up?

      Great questions, Ron. If the Propex runs nonstop, it burns about 1 lb. every three hours. We find that two tanks last several days if you're running it mostly evening and overnight, and the valve draws from both tanks without needing a manual flip. To your question on the temp, 70 degrees would be hard to maintain when it's that cold without something supplemental like a heated blanket 🙂 The Propex is really meant to expand your camping season and possibilities, not function like your furnace at home. While there are more expensive systems that produce higher BTUs, we find the Propex is the perfect balance of capability and price point without adding complexity (read: maintenance and repairs) to the van.

      It depends on the volume of air you are trying to heat. In my teardrop trailer, I can easily sustain temperatures in the 70s or even 80s, but I tend to keep it around 65 during the day and 58-60 during the night. It’s a great heater!

    How long does the 5lb tanks last ?

    • @WayfarerVans
      @WayfarerVans  8 месяцев назад +1

      Great question! Total run time depends on the conditions and temperatures where you're camping. If the Propex runs nonstop, it burns about 1 lb. every three hours. We find that two tanks last several days in very cold temps if you're running it mostly evening and overnight!

    The lack of snow in your area is not a good harbinger of the summer of 2024 to come.
