WINTER CAMPING in a DIY CAMPER TRAILER using only a WOOD STOVE for HEAT

  • With the snow storm of the century quickly approaching I find a perfect place to camp with Eddie, my DIY travel trailer, and explore the winter landscape before the blizzard arrives and things get too extreme. My cubic mini grizzly wood stove keeps things perfectly warm and as a bonus I use it to help with the cooking as well.

    It is quite remarkable how many You Tube videos precisely follow the Winter Experience formula. Invariably it involves a camper/trailer/tent/cabin setting, soothing music, drone footage, meal preparation, cutting firewood…and, of course, snow that does not appear to have been touched by anyone else. There’s nothing quite like lounging in a warm, comfortable room, watching someone else freeze his or her ass off.

    • @RobertsBulgaria
      @RobertsBulgaria Год назад +3

      You got the formula for a successful RUclips video despite the fact that your subtle remark went over the heads of almost everyone commenting and liking here. I spent the winter of 2009/10 here in a caravan that only had low wattage electricity and if I tried to plug in more than one fan heater, it blew all the fuses. I ended up with every blanket I owned on me and another blocking out the drafts of the doorway - Oh how I would have been grateful for a Wood Burning Stove which my caravan now has and what a difference it is, you can survive well and cook upon it, put roasts inside of it in foil or not. I'd laugh at Minus 30 degrees Celsius in such a situation as long as you have enough firewood.

    • @thardyryll
      @thardyryll Год назад +6

      @@RobertsBulgaria Another thing I am increasingly convinced of is that these Winter Experience vids are often barely more than day trips, organized to get just enough footage. Then the person goes home to a comfortable apartment or house and edits the video. There’s much of a cell signal in remote areas for uploading a big You Tube file.

    • @RobertsBulgaria
      @RobertsBulgaria Год назад +1

      @@thardyryll 😁 Of course they do. I only have to click on my Subscriptions to see numerous, 'Overnight SOLO in Winter conditions' which in the UK means Minus 1-4 and of course, they're hot tenting, waddling in with all of the expensive equipment from their nearby parked 4x4's that they mostly don't know how to drive correctly and wham, 50k views. It is what it is, but some of the Thumbnails make me laugh. I would love to post one such as, 'Overnight in Oymyakon at Minus 51 C. without a tent or sleeping bag, watch me freeze to death'. 🤦‍😉🤷‍

    Печку надо на пол прикрепить,ножки на болты -саму печь увеличить в размерах, глубина её 50 см, ширина 35см высота 40 см!!! Дрова сухие, хорошо высушенные без коры. Чтоб не было конденсата, верхнюю часть трубы во внутрь нижней, спать должны не менее 3 часов между закладками, иначе не выспитесь!!! Печь щепотницу выбросьте, полено должно входить не менее 50сантиметров! И не одно!!! Всегда поджигайте дрова сверху-дольше горит огонь 🔥🔥🔥сверху вниз. Тогда отдохнете, а не будете каждый час подбрасывать! Когда печь сильно разгорится можете, на хорошо горящие дрова влажное полено положить. Вода в нём это Н²0 -кислород и водород. Добейтесь 3 часа горения дров. Шишечки, шапочки, это не для нас, нам надо брёвна, поленья тогда и выспатся можно, одному!!! Вам успехов, здоровья, плодотворных путешествий. Печь должна быть на полу! Прибита к полу Кемпера!!! Тогда тепло будет распространяться снизу вверх!

    I have a 20ft travel trailer that had been more or less gutted on my property that I stay in most of the time since my farm animals are there. No skirting, no extra insulation, just a camp stove and the windows covered and the door at night has a thick curtain down on it. If it gets down to the negatives then I just get up every 3 hours to stoke the fire and it tends to be around 40 to 50 in those Temps.
    I do have a house in town but honestly I enjoy being on the property a heck of a lot more.

    The fumes of your barbecue fire starters are the least of your problems.. I noticed the amount of garlic on your sandwich.. What's the purpose of a fire outside if you have one inside? Some people are funny about picking up store-bought wood. They think it takes away from the allure of roughing it.. I have no problem with that it puts money directly into the local economy.. This is my 1st video on this channel and by the way you're explaining the barbecue fire starter and the packaged wood it's only because you're pressed for time you're messing with those items... Was that five cloves of garlic on that sandwich? You might need to keep that in the ammo box! :)

    What did you put on that sandwich? For a second I thought it was butter slices, then I figured it must be cheese of some sort.

    Why did you light a fire in the outdoor pit (with wood you paid for) then go inside and light another to cook on? Seems like a waste of money and wood to me
