To be honest. I prefer the Australian cast for this show, Everybody just seemed destined to play their character. Ben and Anna especially blew me away when I saw the film in the Cinema last year. Their singing really was angelic. The actor who was Gustave was adorable. :)

@Macy Scheldberg Agree 100%. But for Phantom I choose Ramin for acting and Ben Lewis for physique. Ben Lewis is the Phantom I always Imagine. Tall and has a hot, sexy aura.

Contrary to popular belief neither Ramin nor Sierra are. Talented indeed but were never trained to sing in the classical style. Don't ever let the Rierra fanatics tell you other wise. Speaking of under-rated. As an enourmous soprano fan. This show did wonders as it gave us not one but three magnifcent soprano actresses for the world to discover. Anna may have been cast as the principal Christine. But her understudies Claire Lyon and Erin Hasan (now goes by Erin McIntyre since she got married) are just as sublime! Be sure to check out Claire Lyon in particular. She's glorious. Not only does she have some videos right here on YT she uploaded and shared you can check out. She even has her own album. She also made sure to include Wishing from POTO and the title song from LND. Sadly Erin doesn't have any POTO or LND songs on here even though I greatly wish she would cover it. She does do a duet with Anna called That Horrible Woman at a concert from the musical A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murdrer. They're incredible together on it. :)
haha I love how Anna gets like one sentence in with these two! She looked like she wanted to say something multiple times but they started talking. She should have sung a high note and scared them that way she could speak :) Still Love Ben and Simon though

The version touring the US, has a few more, albeit slight, variations from that recording. If you're uncertain, listen to 'Til I here you sing and Love Never Dies, Ben Lewis and Anna O'Byrne's vocals are very clear in those songs.
Just saw tonight's production and to all the haters- I'm not sure if you were even in the right theatre, this production, crew, set, music and costume were all brilliant and mesmerizing.
Each member of the cast is spectacular, but I have to give special attention to Raoul's performer! you know they did an excellent job when you find yourself feeling sorry for Raoul! he was actually a decent person in this production, This version makes me feel kind of guilty for supporting the pairing of Erik and Christine! the reason I don't hunt down and burn every copy of the concept album, is because it is a necessary reminder that you should NEVER rush things! masterpieces take time!
Exactly! Simon did a great job! There are so many Raouls I find to be played so...cocky and unbearable, not really portraying any kind of love for Christine.

Being Australian and seeing them with an Aussie accent is so WEIRD!!!! I'm so used to there English accents I was shocked when I heard them with an Australian accent!!

I don't know about tht. With the huge success of the Aussie version, I would think that that woud be what he takes to London. Anna and Ben have since relocated to London, so... maybe?
