You are great and Paulina Villareal is also great. She in my opinion will be one of the greatest musicians and a very good drummer compared to other drummers. She sings, drums, plays piano,does backing vocals and writes the songs for the band. Amazing artist at a time music has moved away from artist performing and creating their own music. Uuuuuhmazing.

Danny Carey and Jimmy Chamberlin not being in the hall of fame is criminal... I could easily swap out a couple of the people that are and put those two in and the list would be immediately the better for it... and Neil Peart too. Well, maybe in the future they will get their day in the sun!
I've never heard a musician be so negative about genre's of music. This guy says it's fine to have "likes" and "dislikes" but I'd argue that their is a difference between expressing a "dislike" of a style of music and actually "devaluing" or "disrespecting" an entire genre of music. It sounds to me that this guy is doing the latter. (to be fair, I watched 3-4 videos on his channel. That's it.)
His distain for certain players is his opinion, and his right of course, but I don't see it being very productive. Everyone has something you can learn, or "take away", from their playing that is positive. (I'm sure this guy has much to offer) One thing I've learned about music is that it's NEVER cool to bust on ANY musician for any musical reason in a disrespectful way. He doesn't do it a lot, but I've heard him do it enough in my brief exploration of his channel to turn me off.
There are fantastic players everywhere!....the street, small clubs, jazz venues, open mics, session studios, grand concert halls...EVERYWHERE...even in their own homes on youtube...what separates them isn't talent...it's LUCK. The "luck" they made for themselves by being cool to everyone they meet and respecting them. Being "out there" playing, but also listening and giving positive props to fellow musicians....then maybe, just maybe, the "luck" will follow. 😉

My only issue with MD when I was a kid was that they heavily promoted the Berklee/Jazz version of playing drums. I never read any articles about Tommy Ramone or Jerry Nolan back in the day. I do think they eventually got “cooler” and covered different types of drummers but in the late 80’s it was a very Jazz fusion centric magazine with Hair Metal drummers on the cover. As a young drummer then, I felt alone.

I feel as though the modern drummers today can't help but play at max velocity/volume no finesse in regards to how hard they gotta hit the drums, and then rabbit foot spam on the kick drum and speed with 4/4 and if they aren't doing 4/4 time sigs, then it's still max volume and no tasteful technique. Not all drummers today do that, but it feels like 9 out of 10 drummers do this..
I'm doing a video in the future on just this subject.
