I want to tell you this as a dazai stan you deserve to know that anime just ruined dazai whole character in anime, in Actual novel 15. Dazai's portrayal is VERY different in the In than in the anime. He is more bratty and childish and just generally has more life and emotion to him - he talks back to Mori, he complains about Mori very obviously manipulating and lying to him, he tells Mori he'll betray him and join an enemy organization, etc. He also seems genuinely surprised that Mori would ask him why he wants to die and confused about the fact that unlike himself, he doesn't see life as meaningless.

I love this arc Dazai and Chuuya are so fun together but the anime adaptation forgot a lot of things. For example they don't say Randou/ Rimbaud real motive. In the Ln he just want to remember his past so he can know what hapenned to his partenaire. He did everything for him. Chuuya actually respect him for that. Also another interesting detail is that Dazai is genuiely surpise by this motivation, he can't imagine doing all of this for a friend, it forshadow him leaving the pm for Oda. There's other detail but that's the most important that wasn't already said in the comment

Though, again, in this "Fifteen arc", Dazai haven't exactly met Oda yet, or haven't really mentioned an interest in this concept of "something wonderful" and the longing for it, so... hedonism actually sort of works to describe his motive to join the mafia, because we're really not sure if he experiences pleasure in seeing violence or bloodshed, but he does seem to want the thrill of it, so... it's complicated.

You didn't! Chuuya's VA is the singer for GRANRODEO and they did the openings for S1, S3, and Dead Apple!
