Denis love the show been subscribed along a time I noticed you've been slimming down you look great for your which is my age about I'll be 60 in February I think you know more about cars than poor old Steve Magnante you never disappoint always finding really cool cars I know a guy who has a 1914 scribb boot rocket cycle car complete all together here in the ottawa valley in canada
I spent many hours working on that car. Prior to each race, the Honda engines were rebuilt and provided to the teams by Honda Performance Development, or HPD. In 2003, we finished 8th at Indy. In 2004, we started 2nd at Twin Ring Motegi in Japan, losing the pole to Dan Wheldon by . 0017 seconds. The bullet we received for the 2003 Indy 500 and the 2004 Motegi race was production number 007. It was a great engine, and it produced a good qually and race result almost every time we used it. This video was filmed across the street from the former location of Plano Marine, a dealership started in the 60s by Benny Ray, Now Benny is retired, the dealership has moved to Lake Lewisville, and Greg runs the company. Greg is a great person, a fierce competitor, and good friend. Thanks to Dennis for posting the vid, it brings back good memories.
In case you haven't figured it out yet the car is a 2000 -2002 Dallara. The engine is a Gen 2 Chevrolet. The car was used as a show car and consequently painted like the 2003 Panoz. The engine might have internals as it was obsolete by 2003. I am guessing the gearbox is empty as the shift cable is missing and the car turns too easily to have a spool in it. This is common in show cars as it makes them easier to move. The electronics that are required are still available on the used market but are getting harder to find.
Years and years ago when I was going through automotive tech school I thought my dream job would be working at GMG but since I’ve been binge watching these videos it’s now working for Dennis. The respect and love he has for his team is amazing.
Dennis, I am an average car guy with modest means. I have a small collection of cars a 68 Saab Sonnet 69000 original miles a 68 Saab 96 I am mildly restoring a 2005 BMW Z4 and a 1987 Harley Davidson FXLR with 20,000 miles unmolested. I love watching Coffee walk because I can really live my car collection dreams through you. Thanks for representing such a great searcher collector and care taker.
I don't know if anyone mentioned it, but the jack on trailer can be used with it still attached to truck. Run the jack up and it will lower the rear of trailer changing the angle so no need for all of those boards. Love the car and show.
Conseco was AJ Foyt's sponsor and those caps were when Ray drove for Foyt for short time. The race track in Japan was Twin Ring Motegi is actually pronounced MOE - TEGG- EEE
The formal looking Indy 18th place paper work you found is what the MC reads and then hands to the driver at the awards diner on Monday after the 500. back then was probably Bob Jenkins who was a fantastic announcer and racing ambassador
Great answer on favorite local eatery! Not much over by that storage unit. Country Burger!! Only ordered 1 thing in the 25+ years I've been going there....Chili Cheese Burger Combo. I need to hit up this place again this week....when did they get plates? LOL I guess some dishes require them.
Spectacular find…sweet piece for sure !!! Trim Spa back in the day had Anna Nichole as spokes person….Love everything that came with this purchase. You guys rock. Love the content.
I like that guy Steve. He says he don’t know much passes paygrade but he sure has a lot of information and a lot of quotes and a lot of comments for somebody that don’t really know too much but hey, that is the best guys to be friends with because they could help you with your next deal.
I am watching Coffee Walk. From Indianapolis, Indiana. Actually 2 miles from The Greatest Spectacle in Racing! The Indy 500. The track is located in Speedway, Indiana. Roger Penske has The place Shining like a Diamond. I remember Greg Ray at the 500. This episode is going to be good. Thanks Dennis! Another job well done! Shawn.
I've watched that race since the Turbine car days. I'm not the fanatic I once was but up to about ten yrs ago the Indy 500 was like Christmas morning. I was an Andretti fan so I shed a lot of tiers.
Dennis.. my husband watches all the car/gun/fishing/hunting shows on RUclips.. l literally hate all of them EXCEPT your show! If he starts to watch one of your shows, and I am not right here with him. I make him stop and save it for when I can sit down to watch also! Love your content and how you and your team interact, the stories behind the cars and of course the eating food at the end of the show always!! Keep the content coming, and you have my subscription on here also!
I grew up in Monterey California and I went to the Indy races every year at Laguna Seca Raceway and to see you guys recover a Indy car is mind blowing,,!!
Excellent buy + a gold mine in memorabilia. Looking forward to a possible follow up if you found the sensors and possible disposition of any memorabilia
Thanks to you and all your whole crue. You guys are so cool and personable. That’s what separates you from the rest of the clowns doing what you do. Keep up the good work.
I've been waiting for this!! ️ Pulling it with the arm is dangerous! It would have been good if there was a rear jack! Is G-force okay for the machine? To me this warehouse is a treasure trove, excluding the golf set. Will it be exhibited in Dennis' museum? I'm looking forward to the eating video, but all the sizes & drink cups aren't too big!
So................when you have a slow week 🤣.........I think you need to do a video along with the stories of Kelsey's jacket collection finds. Also, like everyone else says, more update videos on some of the cars your guys (Alex) revives> I'm sure a lot get resold as is, but the survivor stuff is cool. Dan in NorCal
Dennis you should contact Ray Evernham he buys vintage race cars don’t know if he messes with Indy cars but I would definitely let him know you have it.
Maybe he would like to see some of his trophys back? Mean, dont know what happened that it all ended up in that storage locker but i cam imagen he would like somethings back. And seeing you ar full with respect, what i like and admire in you i think it qould show some reapect to #GregRay if you contacted him about this find. Amnyway, live what yall been doing so far, keep up the good work!
Dennis if you would change your intro where you turn the coffee cup and change it to where the LEDS go from red to green like an old digital tach would make it look so awesome
Would like to see you run the car at the Monterey Historic Races, the next time Indy cars are featured. Like to see the Pantera run there the next time Ford is the Marque of record. Like to see that car you recovered out of San Francisco at the Historics as well.
A rather sad video . The seller was a wise man . He knew he'd had his fun and it was time to move on . Thanks Dennis , your appetite never fails to amaze me ! 😂
That is a 2000-02 Dallara. When Greg drove for Menard, in 01 and 02 the car was metallic blue. Seeing the headrest is solid blue, it wouldn't surprise me if Menard sold them this car to be a show car. Being chassis #9, it almost certainly was built in 2000. It might even be the Indy pole car. Or if it is a Menard chassis, it could have been Robby Gordon's in 2000.
Man, I hope you guys find at least SOME of the sensors and electronics for that thing. I'd love to hear it run at some point! Great team y'all got there!😄👍👍
Holy s#!t, that's a trailer!!😂 Super cool find, Dennis! I hope you can get the electronics and sensors together to make it a runner. It would be incredible to make it run again! Really amazing episode, and I'm really looking forward to what happens with this piece of history! ✌️❤️🙂🇨🇦
The wooden thing that you had in your hand is not for CD's. It has 31 slots in it for bills. You put them in the slots of the day of the month it needs to be paid.
The electronics ecu sensors and wiring were often leased or rented. And worth a shit tones . The engines and gearboxes were often on a lease program to.
Imagine winning that on " Storage Wars"! I used to love Indy Car Racing,I kind of lost interest after Mario & Michael retired. These were very fast cars!
Dennis, way back in the day.....1990 or so, I think I ran into you at Fenders off 2231 W. Northwest Hwy.......it's a Papas BBQ joint now, but I'm curious if you ever hung out there.
I worked near there during that time. Sometimes I'd go there on the weekends before my shift in the gold and silver building with the angled sides. At the time it was ITI, a small long distance telephone company. I still have old photos of some of the amazing cars that were parked there.
Too cool, would I love to hear that thing run, and Dennis take it for a blast down the street. For some big boys, these guys don`t eat to much Dennis, you got some really good memerobilia on this one, all the best guys.
In that era of IRL the manufacturers leased engines and all the electronics to the teams. My guess is that is a dummy engine and the gearbox has no internals, meaning no gear ratios. Might not even have a R&P or input shaft. IRL cars can race with SVRA and run demonstration laps at select events with the Vintage Indy organization. Complete engines are available, Can Am Cars LTD in St. Louis would be the first phone call as they deal in all things used Indy Car, vintage Can Am cars and lots more. Not sure if Honda lets loose of old electronics but this car is easily made to run using a custom wiring harness (there are companies that specialize in creating harnesses for stuff like this) and the use of a Motce, Haltech or other high end ECU. Lastly an Aim dash/data system will fit right in to the cockpit or you could try and find an old Stack system and see if AutoMeter (who owns Stack) will help you make it work. Fun times ahead!
America, greatest country in the world, but so much haters, come on guys some of you wil not survive a day in Soufh Africa, cheer up this is a briljant show, love it

Benny is not retired he comes to work every day.
Dennis, I’ve noticed that you and all your employees are extremely polite. Thank each and everyone of you for that. It’s missing today and society.
I noticed that too. Please, thank you, and yes ma'am. Great team.
Good to know that there are good people in the world still! Morals and manors!
I'd prefer honesty, dont learn anything about people that are putting on a nice front all the time.
Still like the show!
@@MrBrianbusch Being polite and respectful isn't being dishonest for everyone.
You don’t know what is seen off camera 🤫
But to be fair Dennis is polite

Years and years ago when I was going through automotive tech school I thought my dream job would be working at GMG but since I’ve been binge watching these videos it’s now working for Dennis. The respect and love he has for his team is amazing.
Gforce owned the senors gear the teams rented them for the year that’s why it was missing

Dennis, you have got to post follow ups on this Indi car. Can't wait to hear you fire this up and drive it around the yard. Great find.
Neighbors will love it🙄

you need to contact Matt Hay in Phoenix, as he deals in older INDY cars...restores them, and such.

Wow one of the most historical racing finds.
Save everything!
Extremely interesting!
I believe, and I may be wrong, that the car has no electronics because all the ECU’s and electronics were proprietary to the engine manufacturer…🤔
I'd love some of those Conseco hats! Please let me know, I had family that worked there and it would be an amazing gift
if you’d taken Derek Bieri with you then you could have driven it home…
VGG is the best!! He could have had it running in no time

What's weird about that, of course they are. Dennis is a good judge of character.
Dennis looks so cool with his gloves. The most important thing is to NOT get any dirt on your hands.
I like that he’s a millionaire but still gets right in there and gets filthy and sweaty! He could easily pay people to do this.

Greg is a great guy. Crazy to think he left all those goodies in a storage locker for so long.
Holly Dominator and a tune, will get it running!
Sniper would do it . Highly doubt it's over 650hp
All that stuff is amazing. I would love to buy some of it If it was for sale affordable.
A freaking indy car!!??!! How cool is that? Great find Dennis and crew 👍👍
You Guys ROCK, Great job on the Install love it...
Seems that a good deal of boxes and signage is missing between the 1st visit and the get it emptied visit.
The funny thing is when you gave James that Lambert Kay fresh and clean cologne spray I used to work at the company that made thatCarter/Wallace Inc.
Awsome find can't wait for the update on this one
It’s good as a display vehicle, that’s a about it. Retired Indy Cars that old are not worth much.
Can we please get an update on that Shelby with the tubes in the hood.

If you need help figuring out what some of that stuff is, I can help. I knew what most of that stuff was that was racing related
I Think is an Aurora Motor in Indy Race Car!!
& still looking for all the electronics/&or complete dash assembly tote/ boxes & I sure u can find it......
Mark III lincoln cool ass car
I believe AJ Foyt's old crew chief lives around New Braunfels, he might give you some insight ,Chuck Porter I think.
are they in the austin area??

Been a long time since I've had Country Burger. It was really good at one time and a North Texas staple.
Just need to spend an extra couple dollars on a dropdown trailer. I love it though
How much did they get the storage locker for??
Team building day, everyone gets one set of clubs. Go out and play some golf.
Hello Con, great to see you man. ☘
Can you imagine the cost of a storage unit for 20 years? I roughly figured it out. It’s close to $48,000.
That would be tough to figure out considering storage prices have varied over the last 20 yrs
@@ShakemeupI agree
Well I see how he figured it 200 a month 2400 a year 2400 times 20 48000
@@joelfranke6942 I'm sure it wasn't no where near $200 a month 20yrs ago
At least 20K even with the 30$ a month he used to pay 20 years ago.
Every golf club says their better but it really depends on how good you are. I'd use any of those old school clubs and play just as well.😊
That don't look like Mac-n-cheese Alex but those fries looked killer good 😋

Buy every ambulance you can because people are making overlanders out of them check the market on class b van's they are outrageous
You guys need a Stacker trailer for these times when you have cars that are so low…..!
Dennis is top notch.
That would be so much fun to race up and down your street Dennis. I hope you let your daughter drive it
That's a great find. I'm sure some race enthusiast will be all over this one.
