    3 cups sugar (this recipe also works with 2 cups sugar)
    3 sticks butter (I use salted)
    3 cups flour
    1 cup milk (I use 2%)
    6 eggs
    3-4 tsp baking powder
    1-2 tbsp lemon extract

    Hi Danielle... I’m a 65 year old women who has not baked in over 45 years due to a terrible experience making a pound cake.. Since this pandemic I discovered that I wanted to try to make a pound cake again..I looked at several videos on RUclips and ran cross yours and I figured if I was gonna do something... I really wanna do it at my best and from what I can see you definitely had a simple and easy way to make a pound cake....I followed your instructions to the tee and can tell you it came out fabulous..My husband loves pound cakes and he’s always buying it outside and now he’s able to eat it in the house.. homemade by his wife..He loved it..I just wanna thank you very much and please continue to make these awesome videos and I will definitely follow along..

      @@kimmclucas2672 Hi, I am not so sure what kind of flour she used, but I did hear her say Plain Flour. White Lilly is a good Plain flour to use. But I would imagine, any would do as long as you ass the right amount of baking powder and salt. I hope this infor help you with the question of what type flour. Happy baking.

    Sooo glad to see I'm not the only baker who just flat-out ignores the "do not eat raw batter" message! I was always given the bowl & beaters as a kid so, of course, when I bake & there's small ones about, they already know Auntie's gonna share the tools 😋 (and when there's no little ones around, then it's still up to yours truly to enjoy all that goodness!)     This is exactly how I make my lemon pound cake that I learned from my.best friends grandma. I use only 1 tbsp of vanilla to the rest of the lemon extract. If I'm making an ultimate lemon pound cake I'll add fresh squeezed lemon juice and sour cream for the extra moisture as well! Bomb!

    I have to write a review: I'm from the south (GA) my family have always cooked cakes and pies from scratch but my grannie never shared her recipe. Pound cake is my favorite. I've tried several recipes and failed. Cakes have always been a challenge for me because I've had some of the best desserts. This is my fourth try. I finally succeeded!       This brings back memories of my Granny; she use to "dust" it with confectioners sugar, I myself add milk and confectioners sugar and drizzle it over the cake; either way it's a delicious cake!!!

      @@anthonyjohnikins7959 Update: So I made this poundcake 6 days ago. I stored it in a large Tupperware container on the counter and my family has been eating off of it gradually. My cousin came over today and cut a slice (unprompted), the first thing he said was wow this is so good and moist. 6 days later ya'll!!!!!     Danielle. Thank you soooo much for the pound cake recipe. I am gluten free and I made your grandmother’s recipe. It worked out wonderfully with brown rice, potato starch and arrowroot flour. It was nice and moist and that generally doesn’t happen when u convert a recipe to gluten free.
    The cake was G 🎈R🎈E🎈A🎈T. THANK YOU🎈🎈

    Stumbled upon your video and decided to follow along and bake one with you. This was by far the best pound cake I have ever made. It is still warm, but I just had to slice into it. It is so moist!! It is supposed to be for church tomorrow, so I had to squeeze it back together 😂 to hide the missing slice. Thank you so much for sharing. You have made your grandma proud. 🙌🏽

      Amen! I can't tell you how many pound cakes I've ruined by simply mixing the ingredients the wrong way. !!! I just didn't know any better. I had my mom's recipe but she never taught me how to actually make it.

      @@elizabethharper9208 I can imagine that it took alot of work like a chemist trying to get it to be the same. My mom would not let me watch her cook. It took me a long time to learn on my own. When my daughter ask me i always try to teach her what i can, it fills my heart with joy. I didn't have the opportunity to learn from my mother.       Update: I made this cake for Christmas and I added both the lemon and vanilla extracts, but I took it up a notch and added some rum extract! You talking about OMG and it turned out beautiful!! My family loved it! I did do half milk and half cream cheese. Thanks again for sharing your Grandmother's recipe.💯💯🙌🏽🙌🏽👏🏽👏🏽 I will be making it again!

    My mom and grandma would make this exactly like you did...oh...man...it was spectacular when it was still warm from the oven!     I 💕 how you cherish and gave props to your dear grandmother's recipe I am the same way with my late grandmom's recipes. I'm not as perfect as she was with the recipes, but I'm pretty darn good lol! 😄

    Greetings Hun, just need to say that this is the best pound cake recipe I have ever come across. Respect to Gm, I am a senior 74 blessed years so trust me I know a good recipe when I come across one. My family absolutely loves this cake, I make it on a regular basis like every other week. On son requests one for his buddies at work and believe me they do be waiting. I love to add pecans. I know you can play around with this recipe but I find it's amazing just as it is. Thank you sugar!! Oh and my grands love the bowl and spoon lol May you and family be blessed.

    I have followed this recipe to the “T” a least 4 times and this cake comes out perfect EVERY single time! My husband loves loves loves this cake! I use only Almond Extract. Thanks for sharing!😊

    I made it it came out perfect! I was so proud of myself. I made probbaly five pound cakes this year. Most of them fell apart. This is the first one to come out the bundt pan perfectly. My issue was too much Bakers Joy. I finally got it right. So thank you 😊
