Very interesting! You could see that extra aero helping the 992 through the corners, it also seemed to exit better... But your weapon was faster in a straight line it seemed. Amazing lap as always mate, could watch all day 👌
He distinctly held you up along that fast stretch then used the traffic to get away from you. I feel you gave him and his car more credit than was due in the title of this video. I honestly believe you would have had his measure if there wasn't any traffic to get in the way. Brilliant driving on your part!
There's not much in it. The 992 through the carousel was quit lose in the rear as if compression was too firm, but the aero is good and there was lots of traffic with differing opinion on what side to pass and at those speeds could end bad. 10/10ths driving needs balls with no mistakes but very good driving from both.
You might want to consider something that indicates "992" overakes "991" GT3RS! in the title... imo Someone who is unfamiliar with your channel may assume you're driving a 992 RS, whilst being past by another 992 RS...🤔 Had to read the comments to figure out what car "you" were driving.
Alex is trolling us here 😂 this lap is clearly warm up or some sunday lap or so... The other pilot is slower than him fir sure. Anyways, expert people are saying 992 is better than 991 and even easier to drive at the limits. I mean we need to see Alex in that 992. Summary video: 992 is great but we knew yet
If the 992 GT3 RS is so good why was Randy Pobst quicker round Big Willow in a 991.2 GT3 RS and substantially quicker in a 991GT2 RS than he was in the 992 GT3 RS (992 and 991.2 GT3 RS on Cup2 R). Answer Porsche marketing, the aero is only effective on circuits that have very high average speed e.g Spa, Nurburgring, Silverstone - put the 992 GT3 RS on your more typical and often more technical slow to medium average speed tracks and there is little difference between a 991.2 GT3 RS, 992 GT3 and 992 GT3 RS. Moreover, if the 992 GT3 RS is on pilot sport cup 2 and the 991.2 GT3 RS or 992 GT3 are on Cup2 R then its game over for the 992 GT3 RS. The reality, in the real world, the difference between these topline Porsches is mainly determined by the experience/skill level of the driver. I wasn't that impressed with the 992 GT3 RS and prefer the more flexible and more visceral 991.2 GT3 RS - sure its technically interesting, but has given up a lot of flexibility (loss of frunk, 50% increase in spring rates, more tram lining) for a marginal gain in performance that can only be extracted by very good drivers on very fast circuits. Most long time Cup and RS owners have already come to that conclusion. You're making to much of the front end, the 991 (.1 and .2) Cup and 991 GT2 RS car are significantly quicker than the 992 GT3 RS and the 991.2 GT3 RS gives up very little other than on the very fastest circuits and all 991 series Cup/GT cars are strut based fronts. 🤫
I think the difference will be way bigger with the GT2 RS. It looks like the limitations on the GT3 RS is the horsepower and the tires that can’t handle the extra downforce. The GT3RS is as fast as a GT3 cup when you put slick tires. The GT3RS has all the stuff for being quick but is limited, yes it’s faster around the corner but it has difficulties reaching high speed before the corner because of only 525hp so there is no big difference around a normal circuit than a 991.2 GT3RS that reach the same speed before a corner but everyone that drove the new GT3RS says that’s it’s incredible so the potential is here. The GT2RS will be less limited and will use more the aero because it can reach higher speed before a corner and I think it will be faster than the AMG one
There was a clear pace advantage! The slip stream is not very effective on cars which don’t produce a lot of downforce/drag like most road cars! Even the gt3 All the telemetry data shows the 992 RS is quite a bit slower top end despite the DRS
@@GazRsExtremeBrickMachines The gt3 produces lots of downforce and drag not that of a race car but still holding it back. The slipstream gives an advantage no matter what. It is everywhere in marathons, cycling. Yes the gt3 was prob faster on the straights in the long run but the slipstream was defo the reason of catching it in the straights.
Love all the people getting over for you two like "the big boys are here." How this video isn't far more popular is beyond me. Very impressive driving, and thanks for giving us an awesome look at the new rs.
When you're behind, especially when your gaining on the 992... are you looking at the 992 or ahead and past it? I find it difficult to NOT stair at the back of the car, and I feel that's the wrong place to be looking.
Sounds legit.. got the same over here I think you feel what you can do and clearly this was also a good driver, but if you keep a fairly safe distance and always keep an eye on the brake light you should be ok.( maybe the pros drive different?)
Such a clear indication of the strength and weakness of all that aero. Slowed on the straights but making it up and more with it's insane downforce though medium and fast corners. It's cornering speed is greater and it's exits are faster too as a result. Another insanely brilliant drivers car by Porsche.
I dont think, maybe the same, when the 991 aproach the 992 on straigths seems to be from the air cortin coused by the 992, or the driver was afraid to push it
Personally I'd much rather have the fun factor and the driver involvement and engagement of a GT3 with a proper manual transmission any day instead of the Flappy paddles. The new GT3 ST is definitely the one to get. Who cares which is faster when you are missing out on the fun.

Totally agree! Thanks mate 🙌
Driver doesn't matter anymore..? As for the straight line acceleration, in the parts you probably refer to this car was in the 992's wind shadow.
Now imagine GT2RS coming soon.... That would be the perfect Porsche track day hero of choice
Lol goin 50 mph around corners
*When your chasing your ghost car from Gran Turismo 😂
I know that feeling :D
Right!
The speed he carries through the corners....
Love your driving, beautiful. Enjoyed the ride.
Extrem selten, aber in diesem Fall ja definitiv auch keine Schande... 😉
FANTASTIC!!🔥🔥

how do you think the 992 got in the position to overtake?, if his actual speed was missing, as per your argumentation. 🙄🤦🏿♂️
that looks like a pro driver both do - he missed me overtook on my honda C90 but so fast camera missed it -

😮1.6g corners 🎉God loves good tyres 😅nice driving

I needed a cigarette after the finish line...
bc he got smoked?
Interesting that with all that extra downforce and perhaps a nice tow it's not much difference in the straights
15hp more but also more aero = more drag = lower straight-line speed
992 also with a passenger on board?
Corner exit? 💨💨💨💨💨
I thought passing on the right is verboten?
I would get him for a breakfast!

you were in 991.1 MR or 991.2 MR?
What was up with the guy in the yellow banana? Thinking he's the fastest on track or something?

Not even close too that cars potential.

Yep.
992 GT3RS its a great car.
But you are best and faster then him.
you need better Video quality 4k60,

That is called target fixating and it is what gets motorcyclists killed the most, but it'll happen in cars too

Is the new gt3rs slower on the straight ? Maybe because the aero
Yeah maybe... Or the pilot was into a code brown instead of full gas

Time to get a GT black series or the AMG 1
very slow reflexes mate
The way that gtrs changes directions!! And through the carousel!!! WTAF…… it gained 4 car lengths!!
What a weapon!
