“To Kill a Tiger is a story of how one family’s strength can overcome even the most heinous injustices. Nisha is an incredibly powerful storyteller and her film is a triumph. Everyone should see it.” - Mindy Kaling
In To Kill a Tiger, Ranjit, a farmer in Jharkhand, India, takes on the fight of his life when he demands justice for his 13-year-old daughter, the survivor of sexual assault. In India, where a rape is reported every 20 minutes and conviction rates are less than 30 percent, Ranjit’s decision to support his daughter is virtually unheard of, and his journey unprecedented.
    Directed by Nisha Pahuja - 2022 | 125 min

The decision to reveal her identity makes her much more powerful in the movie. She is not just a victim. She's a young girl with her own beliefs, ideas and courage. It was so rewarding to see her courage shine in her eyes.

Such a great movie, Raw and intense to say the least! Hats off to Ranjit, who stood so fiercely beside her daughter. He is raising a strong and powerful lady, with all the right values.
I wish India gets more fathers n mothers like this, who stands beside their daughters through every thick and thin.

Congratulations to everybody who worked on this documentary that their work is recognised and who did their part to raise such issues and spread awareness. This film is great. It gives me so much anger watching how the community treated Ranjits family and blamed the girl when she was a victim. The solution the came up with to resolve this issue was outrageous. It was crazy to see an elderly woman from the community to speak of the young girl and discriminate that poor girl when what she really needed was support and understanding.
I couldnt help it but that is one community that i cannot see any human being on earth needs. Its toxic.

I just wanted to grab Kiran and hug her and tell her she is a warrior and she is stronger than I’ll think she’ll ever know! She is a heroine! Her parents love her and always did the right thing. They listened to their hearts admist adversity. This is what selfless looks like! Kiran you are so inspiring and baby girl you are not broken. The change needs to be in their belief. They arent like western countries with the loose religions and marriages. Shame to the family which is guided by religious beliefs is what drives them to make choices ppl in most countries would be appalled at. Like to be married to ur rapist. Hell no in most countries but most countries dont view shame the same way. It's way more drastic to south asian ppl. Similar to asians but not that deep shame that south asians feel. It can only change if they dont believe in their religions as much and their family structure loose like western culture. Of course rape and rape that men do to men is kept much under carpet in say north america. I've seen horrific docs about north american serial killers and that jeffrey dahmer guy takes the cake as to a typical white man in north america. The most unsuspecting killer and rapist.

Gang rape or any type of rape should be take seriously and make the responsible pay at least with life in prison or dead. I can’t understand how come some men can violently rape a woman, treat a woman like does not worth anything when this men are here because of a woman. Women should be treated with respect. The problem here is educación. There so much ignorance in this world. This girl, her father, her family are so brave. God bless them and protect them always.

I find it odd that Canadians paid for this documentary. The Indian government should.

Although the documentary claims that the lives of those involved would be safe. How does it plan to achieve it? The village is clearly agitated. The constable is named as useless. Don’t you think that journalism should be more responsible for human lives than worrying about getting an award for an annual circus?
