In a way, whatever the boycott Bollywood thing was, the status quo of multiple decades should be challenged, right? For example, look at the largely popular cultural representation in Hindi Cinema & celebrity lifestyle. It's essentially a rich, high income South Delhi/Mumbai based Punjabi cultural lifestyle and presentation. Both on screen & off screen. Only in the past decade has Heartland India become mainstream. Forget representing the East or South. An industry, self proclaimed representation of India, based out of Mumbai, not reflecting Marathi culture or any other Indian culture batting what I mentioned above, having a rigid entrenched establishment. How can that be any representation of the real India? No wonder the public doesn't like their stuff anymore. Its not political interference, or effect of southern cinema. It's just the public declaring these guys do not talk for us. Even the reformist politics in these films is not accepted because they talk like polished western media. I don't get why people criticize Imran Khan so much. He was in a lot of movies that really connected with female audiences. Back then, there weren't many K-dramas for girls to fangirl over, and Imran Khan's movies filled that gap. Even if he wasn't the best actor, he had the looks and charm that made romantic movies enjoyable. Now, we have great Korean dramas, but it's important to remember why so many women feel nostalgic about Imran Khan's films. Today, most movies are either male-focused or try to balance both genders, leaving little room for the kind of fangirling his movies inspired. Why should fangirling be looked down on when fanboying over action-packed movies like Pathan and Baahubali is celebrated?
I remember watching his movies with my friends over ten times. When we say Laut Aao Imran, it's not just about him returning; it's about wanting those romantic movies he was in and believing he could still choose films that appeal to a female audience. Women's tastes have often been made fun of when men couldn't relate, like with Justin Bieber, who also had mostly female fans. We need that back in Bollywood, simple, modern romances that make us cheer for the characters. It's time to respect what female audiences want and bring back the kind of movies that let them fangirl without any shame.

I totally agree. It just seems petty, petulant, and envious, particularly the stuff about Imran, and I can’t help but take it personally because my own story has similarities (albeit on a much smaller, non-famous scale). And just because your family has the means to look after you when you’re not working-particularly when it’s because of mental health issues-it doesn’t mean you’re OK. In fact, it often makes those issues worse. It doesn’t mean you’re a layabout. Most people want to work, to feel productive, to have a purpose, to have pride and a sense of self-worth. And yet, if it weren’t for my family, I’d be on the street, or more likely dead by now. I’m sorry to say this, because I usually like your stuff, but bad job, Anmol.

The higher your status or privileged you are higher mental health issues you face if you are jobless.. its a society issue..acting is a very demanding job also you don't get consistent work.. wealth do help to survive easy but a person needs work to be mentally happy as society doesnt respect jobless person and in bollywood media sadly don't see them as human and ridicule there failures to such an extent that anyone will get mentally upset unless used to or trained to of these things .. whereas a person not coming from privileged ground will keep doing some work or other, keep hustling , getting him/her engaged because he/she needs money or maintain lifestyle, this helps them mentally and physically. If you see most of the star kids who didn't become successful they transitioned themselves into some other roles but mental health definitely gets affected. A person with a steady job and salary which is enough for that particular generation remains mentally worry free . Whereas in business or temporary jobs there may be chances of huge financial rewards but to tackle bad days and job less days becomes tough. Having generational wealth helps these people to survive easily and may be for next 3-5 generations but still they face issues like all of us ( health , relationships).

I would like to see a video on how actors and actresses are exploited in the film industry for movie roles. This affects both genders, with many having to compromise for opportunities, sometimes only securing side characters. A notable male filmmaker is known for exploiting male actors and that’s how they end up getting movies. Additionally, actors often portray their marriages as ideal, despite having open relationships and infidelity. This video should expose the gap between the idealized images and the reality of actors' lives both on and off camera.
