My girlfriend, Ana. We’ve been together for almost 8 years since 2015 and she took her own life in March this year due to mental health struggles. Every days has been painful for me since then and it will likely continue to be so. But as a huge Spider-Man fan, who had also read “Spider-Man Blue” right after her death, this movie… was just all I needed. Thank you so much 🕷️🕸️

When we lose someone we love, it’s easy to become buried by the weight. It can suffocate you - make us feel like the world has fallen apart and that there’s no way out.
When we’re in that darkness, we’re the most prone to making mistakes. This is where our defining choices are made; these are the moments that shape us into who we’re meant to become. We can either let it corrupt us, and push us deeper into our worst flaws, or we can find the integrity in ourselves to use it for something more. When we confront our tragedy - when we garner the strength to rise above, become better than we were before, and blossom into tomorrow, that’s when the goodness in all of us shines the brightest. Just like the lotus, we too have the ability to rise from the mud, bloom out of the darkness and radiate into the world. The capacity for good rests within us all.
I hope you all enjoy the film. We put everything we had into it. 🤍🪷

Honest review: while some scenes are too long and other could be cut entirely there is some good moments. I think trying to pad this out into a full movie did a disservice to the film, also some of the dialouge was a little too over dramatic. It should have primarily taken place in his meeting with timothy. Streamline the story. Start at the cemetery where mj gives him the letter, he goes home to find harry, cut down harrys walk of the city and get to spidey and his flashback on the bridge quicker, then seeing timothy remains mainly untouched, then you end things with him at the cemetary again then cut the the final swing. Much cleaner story. For a first film that kinda blew up into something massive this was not a bad first go. You have plenty to learn and grow still but you should be proud of this.

This film is soooo boring to me
Took me a while to get myself to watch this after all the controversy but this isn’t terrible. Quite amazing actually. Nothing crazy but for a Fs film it’s something. Couldn’t help but realize inspiration this fan film had to the 90s animated series with Spider-Man’s theme and also the whole visiting a sick child and especially how Spidey showed the kid how his web shooters work. The 90s animated series was my introduction to Spider-Man so it’s kinda cool to see modern projects use ideas from it.

Ain’t gonna lie, this was pretty good. Minus some dialogue that could’ve been cut short and excessive flashbacks, and some iffy cgi, it was quite decent. It’s unfortunate it has a bad rep but the actors gave it their all, they captured the spirit of their respective characters. I just hope Gav and Warden learned from their mistakes even though it’ll always follow them.
i can forgive the CGI because it’s a fan made film but the movie is bogged down by long sad convo after long sad convo and despite all the talking u don’t exactly feel like chemistry between the leads during these moments. it’s just endless sad music and endless sad scenes. a few flashbacks could’ve been completely cut out or retooled. i feel like spider-man could’ve just been convinced by a kid he was a hero rather than him having to talk to his mom and her giving him the same talk the kid could’ve. it would’ve been dumbed down of course but the kid could’ve just showed him the papers of all the peoples he’s saved after spider-man is feeling down on himself. and i think spider-man should’ve shown him his face rather than the kid asking to see it.

This might be the saddest version of Peter Parker I've ever watched 😔
I felt like this movie had a lot of areas where it could be improved, wider shots, less cuts in the action scenes, better mixing, etc. but it is very refreshing to see a Peter story rather than just a bunch of action with very little of anything else.
For someone as young as he is. And did most of the small stuff. It wasn’t bad in my opinion. I didn’t have the expectations of a 30 year old with experience and a million or more budget. For the experience Gavin has. I give him credit. I agree some parts were a little longer than I expected and the cgi using what looks to me real engine still wasn’t bad. He didnt have the means to actually race a car around New York or rain scenes in a studio.
@@bobbybigfoot1163exactly. For a amateur fan film? It’s fantastic in most of those aspects. Probably the best fan film I have ever seen. But as a 2 hour feature? That first scene with the horrible cgi car needed to be cut down like a mf, some of the wider shots of it driving was really bad but the closer shots from the back didn’t look bad at all, the wider full street view shots needed to be fewer. it took away from Spider-Man’s initial swing sequence because I was still sitting there like wow that was junk slop filth.

I think the film was amazing. It really shows that a hero, such as Spider-Man, is far from having a perfect life, and there's sacrifices and tragedy at almost every turn, in the words of Spider-Man 2099, "being Spider-Man is a sacrifice." It also sends a great message that you're stronger when you're together, and nobody, no matter what battle they might be fighting, has to fight alone. It was honestly heartwarming how Tim was a huge reason why Peter didn't give up. In the words of Stan Lee, "I guess one person *can* make a difference. Nuff said."

Here’s my main problem with this movie… if you’re gonna do a 2+ hour feature length fan film(which it never should’ve been), and you want us to rely on the tragedy of Gwen’s death to fuel the story, LET US GET TO KNOW THE CHARACTERS! The entire film relies on your preexisting knowledge of the main group of characters from the comics, it doesn’t do any of its own work to establish who they are as people. We get a handful of flashback scenes between Peter Mj Harry and Gwen before she dies and these are supposed to be the moments that get us invested in these people? That it’s supposedly the best time of their lives? I don’t know why these people like each other, they don’t even seem happy in these flashbacks. So how am I supposed to care when these people I don’t care about, are grieving over this nothing of a person for almost 2 HOURS.
Honestly biggest plot twist was when Flash Tompson ended up being a combat engineer like me. Shits lit asf.
Fuck it, even Sider-Man Turn off the Dark was less painful to watch than this.

Honest critique of the film.
I think the cinematography and the use of assets is very good. The direction of the acting and the designs of the sets and background is stylish without being flashy. However, it suffers greatly from story bloat and an extended period of dragged out sadness.
As comic book fans, everyone knows that Gwen Stacy dies, but this story focuses on her death way too much, even for a grief related film. It's boring and depressive at points. The reverse order of events was artistic, but not enough to make up for the overall sluggish feeling of the whole thing.
A rework of the script before being put into production and showing Gwen first as her own person without any hint of her death in the context of the story would have been better, in my opinion. We had no reason to care about her in this context before we knew she was dead. As an isolated piece of media, it falls flat on its face with what it's trying to do.
She was essentially fridged as a character. And that's a disservice to the story.

This is a really great story with a personal touch to the character, and the character flaws and mistakes of Peter Parker/Spider-Man is what I think has always made Spider-Man such a beloved and relatable character, and this really amplified that. Well done!
You dont have to lie
So happy this didn't get cancelled due to the controversy. Can't believe we are actually getting it!
I wish it stayed cancelled

@@VergilTheGoat06 yes the movie was awful in my opinion fr☠️
There are some really amazing things happening in this film. I think it suffers a bit from being stretched to a feature length film(a long with a million other things), but I really appreciate the vision and there is a lot of conscious sentiment in it.
Despite how heavy the melancholy is in the writing and lingering scenes, I think the key themes still come through and hit emotionally in a way that understands the heroism and tragedy of Spider-man.… enough so to justify that this was a film worth completing. I have to applaud and congratulate that.
…I just really wish it was executed far better, and *cough* by different people, maybe not be a feature length.

"a bit" this shit could've been half the length that it is
HEY GUYS DID U KNOW THAT SPIDER-MAN IS SADDD?
He promised a Spider-Man movie true to the comics and all we got was 2 hours of everyone being angry at each other when together, Peter being a dick the entire movie and the whole plot being how Gwen died and people are sad about it. This shit was awful lol
Next time, try a
Scarlet Spider Movie.
The Scarlet Spider is an alias used by several fictional characters appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics, most notably Ben Reilly and Kaine Parker, both of whom are genetic replicates of the superhero Spider-Man.
I'm not throwing hate at your fan-film. You guys did great as fans of Spider-Man, I'm just giving an idea for your next project.
This movie was fantastic, happy I got to watch this! I wasn't expecting this! Can't believe you made this out of that low of a budget!
Obviously, it's not going to be the best acting of all time for a Spider-Man fan film. But still, they told the story of Peter struggling with this very well and how he feels that he can't be Spider-Man that much anymore, but he now does and it, it compiled the story so well.
"Very well" is a LEAP. When your Peter Parker is just a spiteful asshole, with no content for life and other people's feelings, and whose main interaction with the world is sadly looking at the horizon for half the movie and screaming at his supposedly best friends for the other half, I can't really say I see your point.
When you claim that your fan film is going to be better than movies made by professionals we’re going to judge you at every single thing and this one fails at capturing a good spider man story.
they told a shittyy story
There are no words, you understand everything from every single scene of the film, you understand all the love that has been put into this work. The cast is something spectacular, the music amazing, the settings sensational. I don't know how to thank you for all this. Spider-Man is and always will be my hero. Thanks for honoring him.
"You did good, kid."
Nah
It was unexpected but refreshing to get a Peter Parker film rather than a spider-man film. Also I might just be a sucker for redemption arcs but my favorite part might have been flash’s talk with MJ
This isn’t Spider-Man, it’s a sheep in Spider’s clothing, he would never traumadump on a terminally ill child
This will be a historic moment in the Spider-Man fandom!

Oh man this movie is so good thank you to everyone involved for this beautiful tribute to Spidey. It reminds me of my little brother from my heart, he passed away 27 years ago he had cancer, we loved the comics so much, i'm so sorry for him not being able to see our superheroes on the big screen.... I hope he is seeing all the movies in heaven; I pray for that.
Just came back here for a re-watch because I've got my own fan-film coming out soon. There were so many things that were done right with this film -- particularly the music, acting, and set design (Tim's room). It also looks very professional, and all of the technical aspects (lighting, composition, color, sound design, etc.) are on point. It's truly impressive that you were able to pull off something of this scale, especially with it being your first time and you being so young.
Hey bro I hope your fan-film turns out good and I would definitely watch tbh
The lighting was horrible, could barely see the actors in the night time scenes, colour was stupid af, did we really need to see green everytime harry was on screen? The sound were basic as hell. Acting was bland and overdone in virtually all scenes. Might have to stop re watching the movie as it probably is giving you brain rot if you think its even remotely good.
Much appreciated man! It's almost finished! @@ThePuertoRican
The only part of this that I agree with is your comment about the lighting -- there were definitely parts where the characters were too dark. I certainly have criticisms of the film, but overall I enjoyed it and think that it was an extremely impressive feat to pull off. Have you ever made a film before? @@Solarris
@@Time_Capsule_Productions No but I’ve studied it in university. I can say for certain this is a work of ass.
It takes some serious courage to work on a project with Spidey on it.
Hats off. Pulled it off real well.
After all the controversy and everything that happened during production, it's nice to see that the movie was finished, released and turned out nicely. It's not perfect by any means, but it has a *lot* of heart, you can really feel the amount of effort and passion that went into it. Good job, everyone.

I think people expected so much from a small budget film. I personally liked it. The visuals were amazing and impressive. The story is very realistic for a film with this budget, it’s very grounded, it made sense and it is really different from any iteration. It was worth the wait. Great Job Gavin. 👍

What happened in the bts of this ?💀
I really like the spiderman CGI scenes. I didn't expect this level of quality from an indie studio.
yeah nah the cgi spiderman scenes were absolutely stunning
The movies never really delved into Peter handling his grief like this. This movie done well portraying how reluctant a normal person dealing with these issues are to see the light and how one simple gesture isn't enough to pull someone through. Great job!
I think tasm 3 was suppose to but it got cancelled....i hope secret wars recast spiderman with a new actor and suit cause tom just didnt do like andew or tobey....and the the scripts for the homecoming trilogies was awful

This is up there with the last 3 Spiderman Movies! Personally though, I think this is better than all of them in terms of overall quality, the way these characters project their emotions was really impressive. If you consider the Blockbuster Spiderman Movies and removed all the CGI and Special FX, they wouldn't even come close to this.
The acting in this movie is horrible the acting on the new official spiderman movies is way better

I cant get through the scenes because all the acting and line delivery are just cringe :/
Not only that but the scenes are just dragged out way longer than they need to be. Movie easily could've been half as long without missing much
I like how people unironically think they're doing something good by not seeing this movie because they think the director is a bad person, but then they go and spend actual money to watch the real movies... by disney. 💀💀
