Fred really said a lot when he said “Just because you’ve experienced grief doesn’t make you an expert on mine.”
That's true
Exactly! Different people experience grief in different ways and it’s important for all of us to remember that when approaching our friends who are hurting. ❤️ But shared experience can be a tremendous way to start a friendship 😊💙🤍
That line hit so well! And the delivery and look of fire in his eyes was incredible!
A lot of prideful older people need to be told this
I literally skipped through to a random timestamp and came up to this EXACT scene...
I love that Scooby is in this, even if he can't talk. He still feels like Scooby in a way and he's treated like an actual character.
boom
Rant rawk! Raw-oh. 🐕
"Because I watched Velma."
@@Snowifying My heart goes out to you at least you didn't walk away blind from it..
I feel like his interactions with Shaggy were handled perfectly. It's how many real people interact with their pets, yet you can still see elements of how he was in the cartoons (i.e. Loves food, and is rather cowardly).
A live action Scooby-Doo series is in development at Netflix. I hope this cast gets the chance to audition.
Will it be a tv show like multiple episodes is it a adult series just like the Velma show or is it going to be a kids show 😊
@nicoledyer7276 All it says so far is that it is going to be a one-hour drama show.
@@nicoledyer7276 The new series is yet to have a rating. But the series its going to be produced by Greg Berlanti, who produced a lot of the CW shows that inspired this version of Mystery Incorporated
@@josepablodeleon6073will it arrived in 2025 is it possible that the new Scooby Doo series live action could possibly arrive on max maybe 🤔 and maybe it can arrive on dvd😊 thanks for being so kind to me 😊

I LOVE THAT THE HEX GIRLS WERE INCLUDED i really love this spin on it being much more dark and actually scary!!!!
I am LIVING for the Fred Velma friendship right now. If all the friendships end up being as interesting and well developed as the one they started on, this show is going to be amazing!!!!
Yeah, that was really done well!
I love that Fred and Velma start out as friends first out of everyone and the way he covered her when they summon the mine was proof he sees her as important enough to get his own life to defend her.
the show is not called scooby doo, but rather a "Mystery Inc." thus this is not centered around Scooby but still has him as a companion which is a nice touch, even if he can't talk.
Maybe you just can’t hear him.
i though it was a reference to the 2013 show which yeah best show of the franchise
This needs to be a full series

A fucking greed
Thanks all!! @@FreighttrainDaniel1225
indeed
I completely agree. 👍
This is how "more mature" adaptation of Scooby-Doo is supposed to be done. Unlike whatever Mindy Kaling is making now. Kudos to the creators of this show.
Yeah you really can tell that the people making this care about what they're making everything is so interconnected the hex girls the 13 ghosts van ghoul, my one gripe is how shallow Daphne is at the beginning but she does start to develop through the episode and I'm sure this will be fixed as the series goes on and the characters develop more
I can't say yet if it is better then Mystery Incorporated animated TV series (best adaptation ever made), but it absolutely should be regular TV series. Unfortunately HB suck.
@Wp9999 hey. I'm guessing she was meant to be annoyingly shallow, so her development to the end is contrasted, so it's can actually be called development. That in my book is a good way to handle it.
@@Wp-jv5ed Personally I think they are portraying someone who's controlled by their mothers insecurities. Her mom literally immediately fat shamed her about wanting frnech toast. I love the depth they have already given to each character and I hope we can get more of this great show soon.
It's not even a mature retelling. It's a middle schoolers fan fiction wetdream
This is 100,000 million percent better than the Velma spin off
thank you! :)
And this comment was 3 months ago and turns out you are right
I agree mostly because I don't like those shows, they're trash
can you compare the two
one of these (this) has great value both objective and subjective, the other one (Velma) is a completely soulless and deplorable piece of junk with no respect to the source material, no dog, no real friendly relations between the cast (why? why? why?), etc
I agree but that bar isnt too high to jump over
This is how you do an adult Scooby Doo show correctly
I was looking for new stuff to watch and just randomly thought about this show. There doesn't see to be much publicity about it anymore but I hope it's not cancelled!
They couldn’t offered to make another ep they need more people to sponsor the second ep
As someone born in 1964, I've been watching (and a fan of) Scooby-Doo in all it's formats since it first started airing. This... was... brilliant... Scooby as a retired police dog just makes so much sense... and with Shaggy as the son of the sheriff, automatically makes you aware how they must have met up. Best Fred of *any* of the series... Starting with him and Velma first was smart, too... Gave a chance for her to be a feature, and not just treated as the 'nerd girl'. Having Daphne be the 'klutz' on purpose was kind of neat, considering how she's often treated in the series. I am so invested in this show, that I'm headed over to Indiegogo to help continue it!
Likewise, though born in 1976. My favourite, was Scooby Doo and the headless horseman

This is legit better than the original by far.
They can't keep making it. It's a own property
You can tell passionate people made this show. The amount of easter eggs is insane! Especially Velma bringing up about Ben Ravencroft. Having the Hex Girls work for Vincent Van Ghoul is just awesome.
Don’t forget the zoinks and jinkies that get said
@@ChrisCreats And jeepers.

How is it that fans that can make passionate projects uploaded on RUclips are much more worth watching and better than big budget studios with professionals, experienced actors and writers, editors, etc. can't do better and always think that goofiness is what the kids these days like?
This randomly popped up in my RUclips suggestions. I watched the introduction with Fred with subs and no volume to see if it looked good. It did, so I ended up actually watching it. I was fully engaged by the time we cut away from Daphne's house. THREE MINUTES and I couldn't look away for nearly AN HOUR. Very intriguing, an amazing amount of respect to the characters, great acting, filming looks wonderful, costume designs look realistic yet recognizable as the traditional looks, and the writing is so well done.
I will say that Fred dropping that swear at the miner didn't feel right for his character even given his age and circumstances. He's just always been the one character I could never picture swearing unless he were utterly surprised by a life-threatening situation. He chose his words carefully there, though. BUT other than that, pure perfection!
I especially love how Shaggy is a drug dealer through being bullied. It ties in the common fan misconception about him being a druggy while also staying true to the fact that he never was. lol, It's like a metaphor for the character feeling bullied into the druggy persona by casual fans. 😂That's deep, dude. 😐
UPDATE : March 18,2024
" Sorry for the gap between updates. The strike threw us all for a loop and as a project under SAG we wanted to make sure we were standing in line with all of our brothers and sisters in both the SAG and WGA strikes. After the strikes, things got crazy. Our director Dante is still in Canada as the strikes delayed most everything that was in production at the time including the things he's been working on. Once we have updates on his return we'll have updates as to when we can resume production. There's also much more happening behind the scenes that unfortunately we aren't able to speak on as of yet but we are hoping these things will finalize soon and we can share them with you all. Sorry for the lack of updates, we're working as hard as we can and it can be a mentally exhausting task to feel like we are coming back to you guys with no progress when really we've been working exhaustingly fighting towards every avenue for this project. Keep up the faith! We love you guys and hope you all understand. "

And I was hoping the Netflix announcement of the scooby doo live action was you guys. Hoping you guys got a wonderful deal with Netflix to make something amazing together.
It's Netflix's loss lol
I’m glad the project wasn’t fully abandoned!
I love Fred and Velma being the first ones of the group to find and embrace each other. It brings a whole new dynamic that I think most of the original series was lacking in.
I said this too! Really enjoy seeing Fred and Velma connect before anyone else. Great job on the Pilot and I can’t wait to see more! I’ve loved scooby doo and all of its series my entire life with a passion. They nailed it with making it interesting and a bit different than what we’d expect. Thankyou so much for creating this producers, writers, actors and filmers 🙌🙌🙌🙌

Good point!
Yes! they're a very unexplored dynamic
wouldnt work really, maybe as another origon story movie.
I don't mean to sound out of my depth or pretentious but Fred's acting style is giving me major Jimmy Dean vibes and I can't escape it
and Velma is a unique kind of awkward that just works and makes her dialogue more believable
Shaggy having the cop dad and Scooby being a retired K9? genius.. adds a whole nother element to him being a stoner
Daphne leaning into that popular girl trope is so fun to see too I feel like I've been waiting for that, I love this redemption arc
and then the HEX GIRLS?? And you got Kiera Please to play Dusk??? I'm floored!! I totally underestimated this adaptation I am just so impressed

Oh wow I was just rewatching this and I noticed at 15:21, you can see Shaggy shove one of the pamphlets for the rave into Fred's hands and just keep walking. Fred's distracted, so no one acknowledges it, but seriously, the amount of detail that was put into this show is insane! I have nothing but respect for everyone involved in this!!

Speaking of details, if I may ask, what is the title of the music at 10:38 ? It's definitely not Native Sky by Lucention, like the description said
I'm still amazed this pilot hasn't been greenlighted by WB to be an exclusive in HBO Max, definitely has the quality and talent we all Scooby-Doo fans deserve. Thanks, Dade and crew to giving us a fenomenal experience, count on me as a backer!
Maybe because WB destroy everything they destroyed the matrix trilogy with Matrix 4 they destroyed the DCEU they wouldn’t see good stuff like this which would actually make them money the only good thing that honestly came out of them was The Batman movie and that was only because of Matt Reeves

The sheer amount of references in this episode is actually insane! I've decided to make a list of the ones I saw.
1) Shaggy's dad being a cop as he was in an episode of one of the early series.
2) The dealer's joy juice is a reference to Flim-Flam's lotsa luck joy juice from 13 ghosts. The dealer also wears a yellow hoodie, like Flim-Flams yellow hooded jumpsuit.
3) The book Fred and Velma find in the bookstore resembles Sarah Ravencroft's spell book from witches ghost and the chest of demons from 13 ghosts.
4) Velma references Jonothan Jacobo as being haunted by the pterodactyl ghost. Jonathan Jacobo was the original pterodactyl ghost in monsters unleashed.
5) Velma also references Ben Ravencroft, a character from witches ghost.
6) The hex girls. This goes without saying.
7) The hex girls sing the song 'hex girl', from witches ghost. Again this is obvious. (Also the actresses absolutely nail the song!)
8) The 13 pillars Velma mentions are likely a reference to the 13 ghosts of Scooby Doo.
9) Fred deciding to split up with Velma just as he does in most Scooby Doo media (also they make a great duo in this)
10) Miner 49er is a classic scooby doo where are you! villain. Another obvious one.
11) Shaggy making a giant, multilayered sandwich toward the end of the episode.
12) Thorn speaks of 'high priest Van Ghoul', a reference to Vincent Van Ghoul from 13 ghosts. (Also the person on the phone to Velma's mother sounds somewhat like Vincent Price... coincident?)
13) The black knight ghosts brief cameo at the end.
14) As suggested, his lawyer is Harvey Birdman (how did I even miss that?...)

They actually managed to impose the ideas and characters into real life, while keeping it both realistic and in character. Not only that, they actually captured the high school aspect of in a realistic and adult way, without coming across as cringy, trying too hard or cynical. So many great references for fans as well.
My only critisism, if you can even call it that, is that it has been nearly two years since it was uploaded and there has not been any more. I really hope that this can keep going. Does anyone know what the situation is on production? Any socail medias that post updates? If so, I would like to know.
I was just asking the same, came across it, watch it and thinking there's more following
@@user-ty3sg8fo3s and it had the Hex Girls....
Nice, i hope we get ep 2
I am BLOWN AWAY. The ghosts are actually creepy as an adult. A lot of shows lately have tried to bring back monster shows and none of them are scary, (are you afraid of the dark) but this is actually really good.
Man, research was done, Harvey birdman, hex girls,13 ghost, ravenloft, props to you and you wrote an updated story that works well!! So dope, more I watch more I love! Seriously well done
dont forget the mentioning of johnthorn jacobo lol
@@Badfumcace aye caught that, hope it's foreshadowing for later
@@shanegibbens same but honestly I like this. Just imagine if we have gotten a dark live action sequel of the first two live actions with the original cast or even better the R18+ live action james Gunn was originally had planned
coming back and re watching this, I have reason to believe that this is the rumored live action scooby doo Show that netflix supposedly picked up. If so, awesome. If not, that sucks cuz this was still very good to rewatch
I absolutely love the callbacks to past lore, the Easter eggs, and the possibilities of supernatural elements in the show. I hope we see more in the future.
I haven't seen much of this yet, (I haven't even reached the 2-minute mark! XD) but I can see early-on just how much of an absolute LOVE LETTER this pilot is to the original series! What I watched so far has given me tingle and I'm completely ecstatic to see where this goes. I'm a huge Scooby-Doo fan and I 120% support this project! Keep up the awesome and stellar job, guys! 😉
I was NOT expecting this to be network quality or better. As a huge Scooby Doo fan, I LOVED all of the references and the fact the characters still feel like themselves! ALSO THAT MAKEUP?? IMPRESSIVE AF
Thank you so much!!! That’s all thanks to Angela Santori our makeup artist! 🙌

I am in disbelief. This concept is far-better than anything Hollywood could crank out, and does the Scooby Doo series the justice it deserves. I see some comments saying this should be picked up by Netflix or another streaming service, but I think not. It deserves a higher budget but the suits need to let the director and writers keep full control of this. They know exactly what they’re doing, and they’re doing it right.
GREAT JOB!
CW
@@timtorgerson2216 Great choice, as long as they gave it the flash treatment and not the supergirl treatment
I don’t know the acting is not the best… still enjoyed it for what it was
@@timtorgerson2216 it's already shot like it wants to be on the CW, but with 99% less cringe than current CW fare lol

This showed up in my home page on Halloween and I am so glad it did, I absolutely am in looooovvvee with this adaptation of Scooby Doo! Really brought the spooky vibe and was hooked all the way to the end and hoping for more.
i've seen this and added it to watch later its now been a year and wanted to see how you guys were and decided to watch this masterpiece for the first time and omg the story telling and the characters and the setting is so good!!!! I do hope you guys continue your efforts and I will wait as long as it takes for more episodes keep it up guys!
I was beginning to worry that this would never become a thing, but the 2 year wait was worth it! As someone who's been a Scooby-Doo fan for as long as they can remember, this is a concept I've always wanted to see and it works so well! I can't wait to see more!
The actors were incredible! Aside from them looking to be in their late 20s, which may be the exchange of having such a phenomenal cast, it was so spot-on. Especially, thinking of the Riverdale cast. 😂
Honestly, the way they incorporated "zoinks" and "jinkies" makes my heart so happy.
Here's waiting for "jeepers" and Fred lamenting his lack of a catchphrase.

OMGGG did you guys got associated with Netflix??!
I can't wait to see what's next and I'm so proud of everyone who worked on this project ❤❤❤
This is the Scooby Doo we deserved
So many references, Miner 47, the demonitise, the hex girls, harvey birdman, The Pterodactly Ghost, The 13 Pillars seems to be 13 ghost related, "Imma Hex Girl" song from the witches ghost, and from the sounds of the phone call Vincent Van Ghoul. Super interesting to see the 13 ghost be represented by past Scooby villains, The Black Knight is next, would love to see The Creeper, and Charlie The Robot
Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law
Edit: And the school was established in 1969, the same year the show started.
And Ben Ravencroft got name dropped and Buck is the Deputy’s name like from the original mystery inc
I wanna see the Ghost Clown.
@@GrandpasGirlKimWillbee326 They must have Captain Cutler aside from the creeper And maybe mire 49 he’s one of the most famous. And the shadow phantoms
Jonathan Jacobo from the movie 2
I really like what you’re doing with Daphne’s character. She’s not acting like her true self because her Parents are like “You’re a Blake and Blake’s Do This” and that just pushes her into the popular/mean girls group. I really liked that scene of Daphne basically protecting her competition so the one girl wouldn’t get in trouble.
Basically I really like the direction you’re taking her character
Yea I can’t wait to see her character growth, I am so glad she helped the girl. At first I was worried about her characterization but it looks to be going in a good direction
It’s because she grew up in that lifestyle of the rich kid. It’s like the live action show is based off of the animated Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated series. Trust me, I really liked the cartoon series and Daphne and Fred are the best couple. I can even relate to the live action characters, especially Fred.
to be fair young Daphne used to be like yeah I am a Blake all the time
They ripped that plot straight from riverdale
We were never in school. We were always in the van driving thru the repeating forests or solving a mystery and shaking a leg at a party or bonfire!..
I'm 74 years old. I remember when Scooby Doo first aired. Still has the magic combination. These continuations must be done with love and seriously performed. No farces will be tolerated. 😎 THE most favorite disc jockey in Los Angeles...Casey Kasem...was the voice of Shaggy. It was perfect.👍🏼😍
I really hope this project didn't stall. I am soooo looking forward to an actual season of this show. I know its fan made, but man it is done SO well.
I’ve been saying this for years. Scooby Doo needed a live action reboot. A serious one for those that grew up with the franchise and are now in their late 20s-30s. This almost has that 90s scream vibe! Can’t wait to see more!!
And for those of us who grew up with the cartoons and are now in their late 50s-60s.
@@davidcheater4239 Or late 40s-early 50s🤣

@Kai Kai That's your opinion.
This feels like something between a CW show and Buffy, and I am all for it. I've never been a big Scooby fan, but this has me vastly interested. I'm also loving the nods to the old shows.
Welcome....get ready to get hooked :)
I find myself watching this episode every few months, I literally watch it over and over again. Hoping episode 2 comes out soon
Same :).
I really hope this doesn't get abandoned. This is seriously the perfect "mature" mystery inc.
When the Hex Girls hit the stage, a wave of nostalgia ran over me! Such a great addition to the show. Hope we get more episodes soon.
Lol, me too. I started singing along.
@@Joutja123 fucking same lmao
Except they were not really bad where as this makes them bad so they ruined them. Also, this is not scooby doo, scooby mysteries incorporated or any other association of scooby doo. Dafiny easnever a mean girl, Fred's parent never died, Velma's mother was never bad or an alcoholic and shaggy wasn't a drug dealer or doper. The most he did was pot. And scooby always backed up shaggy. They never opened any porthole to h*ll and the miner and the black night along with the pterodactyl guy were just people in masks not signs from h*ll or pawns of it.
This completely ruins what scooby doo actually is and if you get any form on nostalgia from this then you have no real idea what scooby doo and the mystery gang really are. This doesn't deserve to de associated with mystery incorporated or any scooby doo brand!!!
@@jessicapearson9479 u know I know what u mean but this is a different retelling so things are a different story It doesn't have to be the same exact story tbh
Hex Girls' words about 1 got caught and there are 12 more made me know which specific Scooby-Doo cartoon this show is inspired by. Aside from the types of ghosts we know from Where Are You Scooby-Doo? and later seasons, so to speak.
Loving how easily Fred and velma fell into that friendship. That's beautiful
