Awesome piece of history! You don't have to worry about that cowling sinking/floating away, but that gas cap situation is not ideal. I wish I lived in a place where people would just leave old outboards on their sidewalks or have access to scrapyards full of them! In central valley California that is a $150 motor without spark! I suppose we do have boating season all year.
