- Here’s a nice clean original West Bend based 7.5hp Commodore. Since making this video I found out from Peter Hunn that this brand engine would have been available at some hardware stores back then…interesting. This is a peppy little guy that is fun to run. I like how light and compact it is.

Awesome motor.
Cool right!?!
Very nice. Ugly as sin, but i absolutely love the retro look. Today, nothing has any character. But this ol girl has buckets of it. Well done boatie brother from Australia 🇦🇺 ❤
I covered her ears when I read that. 😂
Moving pretty good!! Nice runner
It runs like a West Bend! 😉
WOW! that little thing honks!
😂👍
You should see the little 5hp Force single go that I posted.
This is exactly like my firestone 7.5 special
Neat. I’ve never seen one of those.
Very cool. Nice that you have the Commodore version. Those are not very common since they were only made for three years. I have the 10hp Commodore. Thanks for sharing!!
I’ve grown very fond of the Commodore and Firestone varieties of West Bends.
@@GearHeadJP I like both of those as well as some of the Elgins and the West Bend branded ones. They're nice motors. Well built and uncomplicated. I wish parts were a bit more available.
Amen
Looks like something out of start trek goes like it as well
Haha, right!?!
I have a 59ish 7.5 Elgin that works the same way. It looks like a giant mail box.
😂 I have one of those too, but I haven’t worked on it yet. I’m probably going to let it go if you know someone interested.
@@GearHeadJP sadly no. I'm the only person I know who messes with this stuff around here.
Could be worse! 😂
@@GearHeadJP I can tell you one thing, this little Martin 40 I picked up is kicking my ass.
Those little Martins sure do run nice once gone through though.
Gas=Go :)
😂👍
That throttle lever is quirky
Yup
