another reason for not leaving Las Vegas is we dont experience any major natural disasters. No wild fires, no tornadoes, no snow storms, no hurricanes and no major earthquakes. Helps having a peace of mind living here 😊
Yes, that was a key reason for me to retire in Las Vegas. If I wanted to stay in California, Sacramento was a viable option because its seismic risk is low, but the high cost of living tipped the scales toward Las Vegas.
I just moved here for a job from the California Central Valley. One of the things I'm excited for is no fog. The valley gets some bad fog and stays gloomy for weeks at a time. Oh and the freedom; California is so restrictive in terms of personal freedoms.
We lived in different parts of the mainland for 16 years (East Coast). We are staying in Las Vegas for a 6 figure jobs and closer to Hawaii. Per statistic/study a single person must make at least $48.00 an hour to live comfortably in Las Vegas. Attractions and Entertainment costs money. We are moving back to Hawaii when we retire 😊🙏

A few things- it’s looking like we will definitely move to the areas you mentioned due to family but I’m still trying to convince myself the move from a 4-season state ❄️ 🌞 🍃 🍁 to a scorching 🥵 summer state is “good for me” 😂 PLEASE, give me a typical day of what people (with young kids) do during these summer months there- I’m seeing it’s over 100 degrees daily & heatwaves for Summer 😭. Do you guys not go out until late evenings 🌅 to do basic stuff like gardening and grocery shopping 🛒 with kids? (I know it may sound silly but I’m not a local so…) Happy about the Brightline 🚇 as we have family in LA & Vegas 👏🏼 Will be a new experience for our kids to have (we have been away from family for many years). Last silly question- if summers are so brutal, wouldn’t it be super expensive to have a pool as all the water may evaporate (or you’re constantly replenishing it?- never owned/maintained one & seeing home listings with pools). Love your videos Kaori- we visited the areas but it was quick for the holiday so we didn’t get to look at all communities much but weather was pleasant for winter ❄️ ⛄️ (it was like sweater weather for us 😉 haha)
@@MariMari-vq8hl Hi Mari Mari 👋🏻 Thank you for your detailed comment. In the hot summer months, we usually stay indoors. We have a lot of indoor activities for families. @@droopx11 Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Education is not the best, but getting better. We have charter and private school options. Healthcare industry is booming here. We just opened the 15th hospital off of St Rose and we are expecting a brand new children's hospital in the SW soon.
