Thanks for reviewing these! I trim the stickers a little then place them on the bottoms of the pans for ID purposes in case they fall out of the tin and get out of order 😊

The clarity of those pigments is gorgeous! Good, clear (non-chalky\opaque) watercolors make art glow!

Thank you Kristy for sharing your talent and wisdom...I love what you said about not stopping at the ugly stage of a piece...I can't tell you how many pieces of art I have that are still just sitting at the ugly stage...guess I will have to go back and just push through...lol. Yes go back for sure!! I like to keep my uglies in a pile in full view so I always have something to grab and try when I'm feeling uninspired!
Kristy, if anyone is concerned about the price of paper, especially if they are just starting their journey with watercolor, on Amazon I saw watercolor paper, 200 sheets for a very reasonable price. True, I don’t know much about quality of paper, and the paper isn’t the “normal” size paper, but I painted my first sunflower on it and I really love it!It’s very much worth the price and practice I’m getting from it. You’re my mentor, you have taught me to be frugal and experiment with my supplies. It’s all about the journey. I have every brand name you’ve given as well as knock-offs, in paper and watercolor paints. And yes, I have your set of brushes and your books, ALL of them.

Lol!! I am laughing out loud at how you’re deliberating dirtying your palette. I always try to wipe away mess so i dont pick up the wrong hue later 😅
There is only this old palette available in my country, not the newer 4th & 5th gen ones. So i was desperately searching for a review. Trying to spend less than a w&n set.
I dont fearlessly use thick paint tho it would be so much fun… but I am always scared of running out of paint quickly. I ran out of my cotman half pans really quickly… it made me think twice if I can keep up the cost of this new hobby! But you sold me on mixing on paper
P.s. That was a fun session! Loved the chat and galloping free artwork!

Ohhhh you'll have so much trouble reordering the individual pans without the stickers. I usually make a swatch page with the stickers. Paul Rubens is my favorite brand! I always order from the actual store in China. Great service and full catalog that way.

What I noticed, the bounce on the #6 Round Princeton Neptune, is that if it's dry, it's very springy. As soon as you hit the brush with water, it immediately forgot what its job is!!! LOL...

Thank you for this review. Actually watercolor is one of my favourite medium though it frightening me. I have a huge amount of palette but my fear keeps me from enjoying the gr8 medium. The way you paint encourages me to jump in and practice, explore

Hi Kristy! I have your books and enjoy painting in them. I have to admit, I do let fear get the best of me when it comes to watercolor. I think it's because I expect too much of myself, rather than really relaxing when I sit down to paint! And the funny thing is I do it because of the joy and creativity! @@KristyRice I’m not on any Social Media so I’m not sure as to how I’d do that. Otherwise, I’d be happy to to share some and even get feedback from you!
I have the larger tube set of Reubens and it does have pink blenders. If I had my pick of one brush I would pick either a short dagger 1/4” or angle 1/2”. Agreed. You could get way more use out of either because of the ability to use the whole brush flat or the tip or even the long or short edge. Both are the most versatile.

Will the gesso stay white? I never saw that before.
Yes gesso dries bright white and super opaque when layered or applied heavily
It's gorgeous🌸🌼🌻. You always paint from cups with à large palette of colours. That s great and easier, so far I was using tubs. Don't you ever use tubs? Sorry for my approximate english😊😊
I use the the tubes to make palettes! :)

Yup just reswatch and don’t sweat it too much! Been there soooo many times!
@@KristyRice I'm so glad I reswatched. I haven't used the paint since 'the incident' and I couldn't remember what was what. I rediscovered some great reds and purples.
