The nice thing about GM parts is that they go together like Legos. The other nice thing about GM vehicles is that everything you could ever want to do has already been done with extensive notes on how to do it.

I was very proud of that too. But I had to remove it because I had to start uploading out of order due to press cars, scheduling, etc. so it would go review #1001 then #1013 the #998 so it would confuse people more than anything.
Although I've never had the pleasure of driving one with a V8 swap, I used to drive a company 4.3 V6 S10 as a patrol truck back in the days when I was a security guard for a gated community of millionaires here in Texas. The neighborhood was incredibly hilly, but the 4.3 could push the truck up those hills very nicely; certainly better than the 3.0 V6 used in the usual Ford Rangers! Do be careful about the accelerator cable link to the gas pedal, though: I had one break on the patrol truck, and really didn't have a non-awkward way to get the truck back to get it serviced (remember the hills?)
I had a neighbor who had a V8 S-10 drag-racing truck. Thing was loud. He did quarter-mile racing but I forget how fast it was. He was just a redneck working on his truck out in the open because he didn't have a garage.
the 2.2L is one of the same motors theyve put in the grumman LLV (mail trucks) supposedly, they will last forever!!! so, next time you hear an s10 with a 4 cylinder in it just close your eyes and listen to that distinct reliable sound people have heard from almost every mail carrier pulling up with a package to thier mailbox. it gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside 😂
@@DaInfamous0ne correct, the ecotec is a really good little motor but the cool thing about the older 2.2L engines in the cavalier and the S10 is that they are pushrod!
some years I put a volvo b230ft (turbo volvo 2.3l) into an '88 s10... got it mounted and running on megasquirt... didn't have time or $$$ to finish it... only big thing I had left was the driveshaft... I wish I would have finished that thing... would have been an interesting thing.
The steering wheel was accidentally put upside down, probably with the engine swap. I believe you can flip it right at the rack and pinion or a knuckle. I don't remember.
Sleeper to the extreme 2.2 sticker on the window. That little beast probably loves eating new Tacoma's like tacos…. Legend has it someone put a rotary in an old Mazda-B/Ranger once and it was madness too…oh wait think that’s on RUclips if you search.
Not sure who you are young aspiring video guy but a BBF or BBC into the s10/s15 or ford ranger platform is much more impressive. I have seen many and have done many v8 swaps over last the 30 years. Maybe I should have you fly out to Cleveland to film the next car I v8 big block swap to show just how extremely difficult it is compared to small block swaps. You sound like Jack Black the actor and will watch more of your videos. 👍
You didn't even do any acceleration runs, and to be fair nobody really gives a butt about if your thermos fits. Other than that, I still like the concept of this channel.
I’ve seen LS swapped s10s that look stock under the hood. Making a fuel injected vehicle carbureted is going backwards. I’ve seen swapped trucks actually go backwards in power by removing that vortec 4.3 and putting a stock tbi 5.7 with a carb . I’d bet this truck still has the 2.2s rear end too. I like the distressed look but the powertrain swap is lazy af and botched imo
Ive been an s10 lover for over 25 years. And I’ve never seen anyone flip the steering wheel upside down before. Looks unattractive and j don’t understand why anyone would want to do that.
Really not my cup of tea... How to ruin a good car for no reason at all... And that "petina" trend is... Ughhhhhhh... "Unique" doesn't really always means good, usable, smart or anything positive for that matter...
one thing i hate about my s10, got the 2.2l 5speed, there are only 3 cupholders, two in both doors and one above the shifter. the door cupholders are small and get in the way of the windup door handle if you have anything bigger than a can, and the one above the shifter is so shallow that it doesnt hold any drink, and even if i could get a drink to stay, would just be in the way of my shifter. Definitely something im going to change in the future

0:53 "Not for fuel" printed directly on the fuel line. Classic project car stuff
I expect nothing less from Chevy people. Low class
You gotta love that Mazda 3 intro. The music is the cherry on top.
im pretty sure zach payed someone to make the theme, ive been watching for a few years!@@Brian_Eugene_Lee
The rust is just too much. Growing up in the salt belt , i cant believe people actually think rust is stylistic or something. It's corrosion. Its rot.
No really?🙄
It’s not rotted, in this instance it looks interesting.
@@dave11686 no shoot it ain't rotted... It's painted to look like rot. Read the comment I said. Seriously.
@@bldontmatter5319 it’s called “patina” and it looks good in this case. I’m fully aware of what rust is.

I love the Mini Truck scene & I SO love this truck. The only thing I'd change about this truck is the name on the ownership papers!
4.3 V6 with 5 speed manual is fun
the automatic really quick
I miss the review number counter that would be in the top right, it was cool to see how many you’ve done

Steering wheel upside down?
I love the s10s and the v8 355 chevy is great in that tiny truck. Great stance and i love those style wheels/rims

My 97 Sunfire coupe has the 2.2L LN2 Engine. It's a fantastic engine. Noisy and buzzy but ultra reliable.
The Rebellious Chevy S10.

Chevy still makes the 2.2. They just put it in cars now and call it a Ecotec. My Chevy Cavalier has a 2.2. A lot of GM cars and crossovers have it.

Not diggin the flipped steering wheel but no where near as bad and ridiculous as these squatted trucks.
