That recipe made me hungry. As I don't do butter, mayo, sour cream, etc. I alter most recipes, usually with a German spin. Perhaps I'll make some cabbage cakes with chopped bacon, vinegar, sugar, paprika, salt and pepper. (Gee, John, can't you ever 'leave well enough alone'?) I once took some of my favorite pizza for lunch at the hospital. One of the nurses said, John, that pizza smells so good, will you share it with us? I said, no, but I'll tell you how good it tastes! Rather cruel of me, like when I asked for a day off work. When I awoke on my day off, I called our secretary at work. When she answered at 7:15 am, I said, Mary, do you know how good it feels just laying here in bed?.....
I make these all the time and I love it!! The darkened crispy bits are my favorite parts! I know I use too much garlic but it just taste so good i can’t help myself! 😁
This is such a great recipe! It tastes so very good! You can also cook cabbage in the frying pan with some olive oil, onions, soy sauce, salt, pepper and jalapeño.

Do you guys do any fermenting? My wife and I are just getting in to making our own sauerkraut. So far it's turned out really well. Fermented vegetables are very good for your body and delicious too.

Cabbage is my most favorite. I like to quarter a med size cabbage A few yellow potatoes quartered too. Put into a baking dish. Crumbled bacon on top, salt/pepper. Add 1 cup of chicken broth. Cover with tin foil tightly. Bake at 375 for 1 1/2 hours I like to use the red taters so I don’t have to cut them. Enjoy
Lovely! Do you guys grow your own cabbage? When my dad and I tried to, we had so many worms and other bugs in the heads...plus they we're never tight, always had loose leaves on them. Any tips if you grow cabbage?
We had the same thing happen to ours this year, because I was working 7 days a week, and we simply didn't have the time to devout to doing all this properly. You and I will both have better luck next year, let's hope.
