This video was suggested to me because of the keto diet I've been researching. I just bought cabbage today, planned on making steaks and soup out of them. You are the kind of good cook who can cook other dishes from other cultures like mine. I bet you can make good beans, black eyed peas, and greens, can't you? Americans really do rise to the occasion, we can do anything. And sister, let's pray for our nation. It seems that I stopped by to encourage a nice lady whose video of her clean, nutritious food, which looks delicious, is appreciated. Ladybug, you are appreciated. Thank you kindly.
I want to really thank you for your kind words, support and prayer. Yes, I appreciate all cultures and enjoy learning to cook with them. Food culture teaches us so much about others, and gives us new ways of seeing things. I love it. Yes, I do make some great beans, black eyed peas and greens! I wholeheartedly agree in joining you in praying for our nation. Blessing to you!
I love that you.took time to comment and to more importantly add to pray for our nation. Yes we have to eat but dont cease in praying for this critical time we are in.
Kielbasa is mandatory in our house (Suburban Detroit)...and those Cabbage Steaks are perfect....and a new thing for our family. I taught these fine Polish folks Haluski, Pittsburgh style, I think theyre gonna love these steaks!

I love the shredded 6 cheese. I used it for stuffed mushrooms with butter and breadcrumbs mixture for stuffing them. Got a head of cabbage in frig and will try this recipe. Sounds yummy!!
i have seen different renditions of this and going to try this one I think. thanks for sharing your knowledge. We all need good healthy food in different variations. the simple stuff just gets old.
After viewing a few of these cabbage steak videos you have one of the best with your spiced melted garlic butter and cheese topping.....going to try this as a side dish for TurkeyDay coming up....... : )

Great video! You talk to people like they are right there in the kitchen with you showing us how to cook. Cabbage steaks look great, I will have to try them
Helga's Pennsylvania Cooking Thank you Helga. This looks delicious and so simple to cook. The only thing I would do different is to put parchment paper on your baking sheet to capture all of the pieces of bubbly cheese pieces. Yummy.
Neighborhood meat market butcher said to put kielbasa on a foiled pizza pan and into the oven for 20 minutes then flip for a few extra minutes and do not poke them. They taste just like the wonderful sausage you get at a Polish wedding. I used sharp cheese on this cabbage recipe and it was really good. This gal can cook.
Subscribed, can't wait for more of your recipes. You're a great cook, girl. p.s. People just don't eat cabbage enough; it is such a nutritious and tasty veg. You were brilliant to put sausage with it, that combo is really good together.
I think I'm in love. Oh, and the food looks marvelous. I tried cabbage steaks once, winging it, no set recipe. They were ok, but just ok. I love cabbage. I will have to try it this way though. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Helga! Thanks for the great idea...I am going to try this using asiago and parmesan! In the past, I have made kielbasa with cabbage stir-fried with roasted red potatoes with butter and parsley on the side...can't wait to try this!!
I shall be making this on Sunday together with grilled salmon, potatoes, carrots, and asparagus. Thank you for sharing your wonderful recipe; God bless!
Thanks for this video. Just went to the market and butcher to get some cabbage and Kielbasa specifically to make this after watching this video. I LOVE cabbage no matter how it's made, but never tried this. Couldn't find any decent turnips, but found some great looking beets to roast for an additional side dish. So excited.
I'll be looking for it. BTW, it turned out great. Only change is I only put cheese on half the steaks because I wanted to compare cheese ones to just buttered and spiced ones, and the non-cheese ones were just as delicious. Tender, buttery with just a hint of smokiness from the Paprika. I was so full last night. 🧡
Helga, Have never tasted "Cabbage Steak", but yours looked sooo good, fixed Polish sausage, mashed potos. and your steaks for my families supper the other night...and your steaks were delicious! Thanks to you, I have a 'favorite' comfort food meal, and can't wait to make it again. Many thanks for a delicious recipe, my family thoroughly enjoyed too! :) Gretchen Belken
I made 'Cabbage Steaks' last week, and my Hubby who is not a fan of Cabbage - Loved them! I think you could add more cheese and bread crumbs and layer this in a casserole dish like a stuffed artichoke - or - top with sauce and pepperoni like pizza. This was so easy and a hit at our house. Thank YOU!
I like the fact that you keep it real thank you I like the way you said you said it's cheap it's easy and it's really good I like that I'm going to have to make that recipe one day thank you
Great video and I am going to try this recipe as I love Cabbage and clearly more ways then just boiling it thank you for sharing your brilliant video x
This makes the second video I have seen of cabbage steaks. I have never heard of this before about a week ago. But looks very good.... I do like to make baked cauliflower. Just same way as cabbage you got there. Except you cut cauliflower into florets and put into bag with little bit of oil and season all. Shake and pour on to cookie sheet. Same way around 400 for 30 mins. Very tasty
Isn't it funny how food will trend? Yes, cauliflower is great that way. I like doing cauliflower wings. Same concept as chicken wings only with cauliflower. Good stuff! And mashed cauliflower with black truffle oil, another winner!
Is the pan tuff to clean after the cheese burns on? Maybe a little oil on the pan first? Parchment paper maybe? Can’t wait to try this one. My wife and I both like anything “ cabbage “. The sausage looks good too, doing the sausage in the oven keeps everything simple. Plus it gives you some time to do some clean up and maybe a cocktail. Winner- Winner, cabbage for dinner!
No, mine aren't. I have good Pampered Chef nonstick sheets, though. Oiled lightly both sides, it doesn't stick and the melted cheese lifts right off. But foil or parchment paper would be fine! Winner-winner cabbage dinner, Love it!
