I'd love for more Space Pirates Content. Star Wars has so much to offer and it's sad it mainly sticks with Jedi and Sith, even worse a lot of Fans don't understand there is more to Star Wars than just them.
All the factors that made it really hard for the Empire to fight the Rebellion (3-dimensional nature of space, limited hyperspace tracking) made it near-impossible to stop piracy. IRL, we only really got rid of it in the 1800s, and it started to make a comeback in the 21st.
I was wondering if anyone else remembered Crimson Jack's original appearance in the comics. The issue he first appeared in was one of the first comics I read that wasn't a "kid's comic" (Richie Rich, Scrooge McDuck, et al). Looking back on it... they had no idea then, but today I giggle at the unintended foreshadowing. Han and Leia have each been captured by Crimson Jack in separate attacks. Han to Crimson Jack: "What isn't told about that tale is that a certain Rebel Princess... fell in love." It's an attempt to let Han and Leia pass a whispered conversation - through a kiss - and after a fashion it works. Afterward, while staying "in character" Leia gets a bit of revenge... =grins=
Thanks for bringing up the main cause of piracy - poverty and desperation. Not many others do. There is a sci-fi franchise where piracy, bounty hunting, smuggling etc. Is very much reduced, and the main practioners of piracy in particular treat it more as a cultural tradition than being an actual threat. I wonder if said galaxy's protagonist factions policy of space socialism - providing for ALL its citizens to the extent they don't even use internal currency - has anything to do with that?
“Poverty is the soil in which crime grows; crime is a reflection of the general poverty and inequality of the existing system.” Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius.
You know if strar wars did crossovers, like, for example, halo mass effect and cyberpunk It would be interesting to see. All the different droids Cause undoubtedly the ones we know would look completely different with a lot of new upgrades and weapons and technology They have with them ( Not imaging character interactions Like factions from halo Interacting with the galaxy ) I mean, just think about what an upgraded general grievous would look like
Addressing the issues on the Rim would have lessened piracy. It never would have eliminated it. A combination of working to improve the Rim and crushing pirate groups would have been a good combination.
20:36 so was acolyte but they cancelled it so 🤷 I’ll watch it after it’s got a few seasons under its belt. I’m absolutely livid at the shambles of the studio that used to have confidence in the stories it told. George was unflinching in the prequel era, regardless of backlash. And acolyte deserved the same attention and confidence
When I grow up I wanna be like Hondo. He reminds me of myself a lot and actually his accent is very similar to my own father’s. I don’t mean the criminal stuff just the speaking softly and driving a big tank part (for legal reasons)
I find the idea that just the lack of resources leads to crime/piracy insulting. I was poor most of my life, I never turned to crime. No, what really causes an explosion of organized crime/piracy is poverty PLUS a power vacuum. You can see this all the way from ancient times to modern day. Mediterranean piracy was rampant till Rome filled the power vacuum. The "Age of Piracy" during the age of sail happened because the navies of Europe were too small and poorly organized to patrol the oceans. This led to an explosion of piracy. Once the navies of Europe (England in particular) got their act together it filled the power vacuum and the age of piracy ended. The Somali pirates existed because their government had no power to stop them. Large scale organized crime ALWAYS exists because of a power vacuum. The Star Wars galaxy will always have a piracy problem simply because of the way hyperspace works. You're not exactly on rails, but it still results in restrictive navigation. Its not like a warp drive where you simply set course and go. The hyperspace trade route system leaves too many nooks and crannies of the galaxy that will always be in a power vacuum. The empire for all of its grandiose bluster never, even at its peak, had enough force projection to eradicate piracy. Star Trek and other similar settings that have unlimited navigational freedom (within reason) don't have this problem because warp, or slipstream or what have you. allows nowhere for the pirates to hide if they're pursued by a competent navy.
Skeleton crew was ok but it should have stayed as a kids show rather than now its some high stakes drama. If the story was kids reading the story of Hondo decided to go for his treasure having an adventure. Sure it would have been a stupid kids show but the kids watch with their parents who remember and like the old clone wars lore
Exactly. Heaven forbid the company that is supposed to be a children's entertainment company actually focuses on shit for kids instead of grown ass "Disney adults" Pathetic.
Bro... nobody gives a shit about Skeleton Crew. Even less people watched it than The Acolyte lmao. Disney SW is done. Focus on legends and George Lucas's canon. I stopped watching half your shit because you started making videos on Disney slop.
Skeleton Crew is a garbage show. The most messed up thing I saw was the creation of a fan group called and I kid you not, The Brutus Beatoffs. Furries obsessed with Brutus. The creator of this group was given a Skeleton Crew gift basket from Disney.
As Hondo always said: Speak softly, and drive a big tank
And "If one hostage is good, then two is better, and three? That's just good business"
And his mood is based on profit
@@isaackim7675Nice, fat, warm, juicy profits!
this endeavor is no longer profitable!
THIS EFFORT... IS NO LONGER... PROFITABLE!
Few characters from the series had *so* many iconic one-liners quite like Hondo

Hondo Ohnaka: I have the jar of spices!
Nute Gunray: It's just... good business...

True, space pirates in Star Wars really do be so freaking
Ikr, so freaking
"Melg, why did you do it? You're not a hero, you're a pirate like me."
THIS VIDEO IS NO LONGER *P R O F I T A B L E*
2:10. We really need a series about this pirate group. They only got like one minute screen time in the sequel trilogy

Imagine being a crime apologist to shill for your failed ideology. There are many poor and desperate people who don’t become criminal.
11:52 What? The best way to get rid of pirates was just to give them jobs? No way! 😂

Good to hear you're liking Skeleton Crew. It's really enjoyable.
Justice for Hondo, forever the best pirate in the galaxy

I hope we get a live-action miniseries about Hondo someday
You guys should do a video explaining the corporate alliance tank droid or the snail tank!! Please love you guys btw

La MEJOR serie de star war y la mas creíble y sería no las otras porqueria conveniente para que los protagonistas ganen siempre de forma inverosímil
Hondo lost his gang to the empire.
What if the covenant from halo and unsc existed in star wars
256th like!👍
Awesome video!🤘
Keep up the awesome work!🤘😎🤘
You gonna do any videos on skeleton crew?

Well it’s not like there’s anybody with more than two brain cells to run together in the higher positions of Disney.
Ok

So what exactly makes it a garbage show? I don’t see how you hating furries correlates
@ It’s Disney Star Wars.
@@AOT_HxH95 ah right so you haven’t watched it and therefore opinion is irrelevant
@ I don’t need to watch it. It’s part of Disney canon. All roads lead to Jake Skywalker.
