    Y’all missing the point saying how it’s so expensive to start and he’s not even working. All I know is he took a hobby he liked, found a nitch, saved, worked and made more money than I’ll ever get flying drones. Then is kind enough to share the information for free on how to do it. Also he never once said the word easy in the video. Keep up the great work man!

    So I guess on job1 (2 days) to pay for itself and then on jobs 2 +♾️ you will make profit 😁

    • @IndianaDrones
      @IndianaDrones  Год назад +1

      That is very common! If you already have the work then this math works really fast! But if you don't, all hope is not lost. There is a large surplus of survey firms that want to do this but don't have the youth with the passion and attention to detail to help get them going. If I was starting today, I would go watch all my video - ask me to make some more tutorials. Then go to a survey firm - say that you want to become a Drone Party Chief - get a job for 80K a year... then learn all the survey stuff on the job. Then Boom - you too will get the 45K per 2 day jobs!

      Yes you can, there's a decent commercial market for visual drone inspections, and you can do them with something as simple as a mavic, And if you don't wanna pay for schooling, if you're a highschool student, some community colleges offer classes to get a commerical drone liscense, all completely free.

      @@skidhvh np, I took one of those free classes myself last year at Ventura college (in California), and I can say they're really helpful, completely free, and teach you everything from legal requirements, to communicating with local ATC to get special permissions, to keeping logs and planning out inspection flights (required by law if I remember). They also teach you about all of the different carreer options for you (including what this guy did in the video), and even how to fly different types of drones and give you hands on expirience with flying some fix wing and Mavic type drones out in a field. They pretty much hold your hand the entire way up to yourself official certification test.
      I would've gotten my liscense too if I hadn't dropped out early due to personal reasons
      But even if you're not a highschool student joining some free program out there, paying to take a class to get your license isn't that expensive. The biggest cost would definitely be buying a drone in the first place lol.

    Well, with a 13k drone, and as an example, let's say 7k of additional expenses for software and peripherals. They would only have to do 5 jobs at the same rate to recoup experience. After that the the only major expenses would be upkeep and marketing costs.
    And a small business loan would more than cover that small of a startup cost.
    I would think that the hardest part of all of this would be finding a consistent market for it.
    Great job to the guy for turning a hobby that they obviously love, into a potential career.

    I did some 3D mapping 6 years ago with my $800 Mavic Pro. Started with some autonomous missions, traveling over mountains where you would lose connection if you were flying by remote. It's crazy how good the quality is now. Mine was just using the built in camera, this thing has some crazy custom lidar cameras. This is possible with a $600 setup, jsyk. Quality won't be as good, but it's possible. The program I used for the 3D mapping is for DJI drones. You could get a setup like this guys for probably 10k less than he spent, he obviously wanted some good equipment, but you don't need lidar to make 3D models. I made a 3D model of some buildings, and an apartment complex, just messing around. It's interesting to me. That was 3 drones ago, I've got the DJI Mavic Air 2 now, haven't really flown it that much lately. It's fun to fly every now and then though. Wish I was making some money with it.
