This is a sexy man, ok? Time could not defeat him. Age could not diminish him. He just has "it" and always has been one of the greatest musical performers of all time. He deserves all the credit in the world for his incredible contributions that have spanned several decades. He is not slowing down. If anything, he is just getting warmed up. He still has a long way to go and there is so much magic and creativity inside of him. He is the eternal "Golden God". VIVA ROBERT PLANT!!!!
@@joannlabbe3437 Also, what is the point of your hateful, shaming, back-handed compliment? You would have been better off not writing anything at all. You are an uniformed Zeppelin fan and you tried a low down shaming technique on me. BAD MANNERS, LADY!!!!!
@@joannlabbe3437 Oh, yes, I am quite serious! You did not give me a "compliment" at all. You gave me a snide, passive aggressive, backhanded, shaming "compliment. Every true Zeppelin fan knows that Robert Plant once called himself the "Golden God". Stop saying rude things to total strangers on the internet. If you want to give a "compliment" make it a straight forward, genuine one. Not one that ends with a low down shaming tactic. You are RUDE!
His respect towards his fellow musicians always caught me and that he is so much in what everybody does on stage. Lovely person performing from the heart. Beautiful energy this artist is radiating
GREATMUSCLESMAN Maybe the right point is: his voice does not sounds like it used to as may be hapen with all of us but i'd say that an artist is not something you can discard just because he got old. He still rocks and it is a quality that does not depends on his age. Excuse my bad English.
Further proof that Robert Plant's uncompromising forays into his own musical journey has never ceased. Since his first solo album, he has never stopped searching. Poor, sullen, Jimmy Page never was able to forge ahead in any meaningful way as his lover (no homo LOL) created a whole musical universal for himself and others to explore. Jimmy blew his creative wad with Zeppelin and remains fixated with that legacy instead of building upon it. HIs last and only solo effort, since the break up of one of the most influential bands of the 20th century, happened 35 years ago. HIs best output in the 6 years between 1994 and 2000, was with Robert Plant and recapturing his youth touring with The Black Crowes. Outside of that, he's just been devising ways to incessantly remix and remaster Zep's catalogue and releasing demos of unreleased, half-finished songs from the archives and charging a pretty penny for the luxury of owning them. "Sad" doesn't begin to describe his downfall. Meanwhile, RP has built a vibrant, musically daring, experimental, dynamic body of work that continues to grow to this day.
Love seeing Robert Plant performing Led Zep songs, especially the accoustic songs. What a great artist! Wonderful that at this mature age he still performs beautifully! Any negative comments, please be thoughtful that this man must be in his late 60's.... not bad.... don't think other professionals could perform so well. Love you Robert Plant.
Hello. When is jazz festival?????is it same place every year. ??? How much was it. How u get tickets. ??, please answer if u have time?? Ty was it in new Orleans. ?
My dad who is retired, and wheelchair bound from 40 years of hard work in the construction industry, often jokes about being too old to cut the mustard. I remind him that there are guys like Robert Plant, Gene Simmons, Ozzy Ozbourne, David Bowie who are all the same age as he is who refuse to let that get the best of them!
It's my first time hearing him w/The Sensational Space Shifters and I'm pleasantly surprised. The only thing I'll say is I wish he'd do more of his 80s and early 90s songs because they're just as good as the Zeppelin songs he insists on singing. I know in some circles it's cool to knock the 80s but, I've been listening to his 80s and 90s albums lately and they're pretty damn good. I remember them from my childhood but, I was too young to appreciate them. They still hold up and he should be proud of them. And yes, it's good to see him in his elder years still rocking and looking like he's enjoying it instead of being there just for the paycheck.
Principle of Moments and Shaken Stirred are my favorite 80s Plant records, they're so melodically great. Wish he'd reshape them for a modern set. Plus the loads of songs off of Manic Nirvana, and especially fate of nations. I'd also love to see Robert do White Clean and Neat from Now and Zen.
Robert sounds fantastic! What a treat this is. I know people talk about a LZ reunion etc, IMHO Robert is enjoying performing with these guys. I think it's a more personal setting where he can just hang, relax, and just have fun without all the pressures of performing with Led Zeppelin.
On 9/28/2014 NPR did a live broadcast from The Brooklyn Music Institute. I was lucky I was able to catch the show on line. Robert Plant and the Shape Shifters put on one briliant show. A little of the new and old songs. Roberts voice has not changed one bit. Justin Baggets and the rest of the band were is such fine form. I just cannot say enough about Robert Plant. He certianly knows a thing or two about music.
One , I was standing up for in in all the negative comments posted below mine. Two , peoples voices do change are we grow older. Please get off my back. I am a big fan of him.
Awesome, Incredible , Always will be Sensational !!! ROBERT ALWAYS WILL B EVOLVING !!!!!!!!!!! He's a gifted and intuitive man , frontman , musician!!!
Tons of respect for Robert....he could tour with Zep, rake in the cash and live in the past like the Stones, Rod Stewart and such but instead chooses to live in the present and make music which is relevant.
Plant has still got it. I was peeved at first when him and Page couldn't work it out but if he can still jam like this with a band like that then that's great also, and I understand not really wanting to play Zeppelin for the rest of his career.
I will be rocking out to this man next week for the first time, I'm so excited to finally see one of my rock Idols...DANCING DAYS ARE HERE AGAIN AS THE SUMMER EVENINGS GROW!!!!
I dig this band...their renditions of the songs written long ago are cool. I am not sure why people keep talking about a Led Zeppelin "reunion" as there can be no such thing...They would be a great cover band...but to be anything more they would have to collaborate and bring NEW music to the game. I happen to enjoy Robert's farkin' around with the old shite...don't like it...nobody's forcing you to turn it on.
this is perfect and great ! people don't realize howmany times he's sang some of these tunes so so many times and he's guetting old, give him a break don't over judge the goodness of Plant Page and the rest of the groups and musicians they work allot allot so hard;, wish the hell I was jamming with him .
Was not seeing that Im in the Mood out of nowhere ! :-) Good stuff. This song live sounds so much better than studio. Never really liked Plants solo albums until the past 20 years or so with his work with Krauss and Band of Joy etc. Thanks for posting this :-) Last time i saw him was 08 @ Mohegan Sun with Allison. Great show.
The amount of respect I have for Robert Plant is tremendous. And I know it's his right to perform Zeppelin tunes with whomever he chooses whenever he desires, and I'm grateful to be able to see and hear him perform anytime, anyplace, as opposed to the alternative. But there's still nothing that compares to the energy of Led Zeppelin performing Led Zeppelin tunes. Whatever his reasons for not wanting to participate in another Led Zep reunion are his and his alone, and who are we to say what he should or shouldn't do. He's obviously doing what makes him happy and feels good musically, and I respect that. But we can hope....and by God I would sure love to see Led Zeppelin with Jason just one more time as opposed to never again.
It is basically his old Strange Sensation band with a new drummer. The two albums they've done together are excellent....with a new one out shortly. A Zep reunion would be a backward nostalgia money-spinning con-job. Would that truly satisfy us fickle fans? I think not, if we're brutally honest. Besides, Bonzo is gone and its not Zep without him. This here, is moving forward. That's what its about at the end of the day.
If he doesnt need Led Zepp why do he performs songs of Led Zepp?...Bonzo is gone, but there is son of him, Jason. Simply, he ows to Page and Bonzo for his solo career...but he turns to be one of you, EGOIST.
Really? Someone complaining about his voice? Plant has never had what would be called a pure perfect pitch. That's whats so great about him and thousands of other artists. does he scream like he did with Zep ,no, where you been the last 30 years of plant? Sounds great.
I think most of the screaming was over the top anyway. Robert is no frills now, which you can't get anymore rock and roll than that. In my opinion, he's never been a better singer. The new Plant/Krauss record is a testament to that.
This is a sexy man, ok? Time could not defeat him. Age could not diminish him. He just has "it" and always has been one of the greatest musical performers of all time.
