Great video! The 22000 Class used to be formed in sets of 3 and 6 coaches, but in 2014 were changed so it's now a mix of 3, 4 and 5 coach trains. This means there is more capacity because a maximum 8 coach train can be used. This is useful when they are operating long services such as to Cork. New coaches of these trains are coming soon so 6 coach 22000s will return! Unfortunately, the First Class on the 22000s is pretty much Standard Class with the addition of a lamp and a sticker. At least the bays of 2 seats get a proper table rather than a tray table. Enjoyable content, would love to see more!

Not at all obvious what advantage this first class offers other than perhaps less crowding than in second class and a bit more leg room. The 2+2 seats look the same. Worth it if the price difference is small. A real first class would have 2+1 seats. The lack of on-board catering is very disappointing compounded by no coffee for sale in the station. In the old days you could have a meal cooked on board. Catering would mean adding a car with kitchenette. Other train operators have such but sadly few offer more than snacks. Long gone are the days of linen table clothes and food cooked on board.

Irish Rail are tendering consultation on the new rolling stock to replace the Enterprise Fleet. They'll probably be multimodal and will have to support both 25KV AC and 1.5K DC. It might be the first InterCity line to be fully electrified.
The Dublin Cork line probably needs both Dart + South West and the Cork Suburban rail from Mallow electrified first. I think that's 2045.

@@jgcondron Nods re the Enterprise should be the main target for a faster express train linking the two cities as the present average is around 60mph which is pitiful compared to other countries express services! One of the main problems in NI rail has been its always came second to roads when cash was given out and not helped by politicians who only respond when a bribe is attached. If you have a look at the closure of the “Derry Line” shows how criminal elements where used to influence its closure. In reality a joint approach to all major rail routes in Ireland should be the modus operandi for all future plans re the railways in Ireland. This should be totally devoid of all political goals and propaganda used for a so called inured Ireland
