He's a good player, but can't blame teams for being hesitant in January due to his injury history and Dortmund's asking price. He will have to show he can be healthy and wait until the summer.
He should honestly be looking for a move to La Liga as I feel his style of play could benefit a lot of teams in the league… if there’s any team that’s interested in him. It will be very difficult for him to join any elite club at this point with his fitness problems and barely any game time. BvB will have to let him go for cheap for sure.
He did go to Nottingham Forest last season and managed to score zero goals in ten matches. Not sure who is really interested in him with his injury record anymore.
@logirex he only went there because of his crooked agent's relations with nottingham forest, they didn't actually want him. lol, just as you stated, *nobody wants gio reyna.*
Just because he isn't starting for one of the best clubs in the world doesn't mean he couldn't start in a top five league, just needs to play for a smaller club than Dortmund.
If he can't get time in this Dortmund side which is consistently struggling to get results, then maybe he's just not fit for this level of football. I'm sure they'd happily sell if anyone wanted him, but Dortmund would have to cut their price for a lower side to gamble on him.
I am always sort of amazed about how some of these better than average soccer players get on these clubs and dont play. I would think as a competitor you would try and get yourself on a club where you play. It's really different than any American club sport. It just seems nuts to me how these guys sign to big clubs and barely play. Go find a place that will play you for cripes sake.
Agree, but gio was looked at being the future of bvb. But his injury problems have really regressed his development. He looks like a player that hasn't played in years. Lost in every aspect of the game and not physically up to a high level. I have hopes for cavan Sullivan too but him picking man city is just dumb. They never give young players consistent opportunities. He chose them over bvb, which does give minutes to young players. Just did it for the recognition. Dumb decision
Maybe he has the same case as Christian bench players aren’t warm and are prone to injury look at pulisic now playing well and consistent minutes and only gets minor injuries
Come to rangers Gio, play for a few years then head to the prem in england once youve shown how good you are playing week in week out for the team your dad played for.
He's a good player but not a star like the US fans treat him. He needs to play and time to develop. Right now, he's not good enough and consistent enough to start on a top team.
This is endless. Reyna should have gone to a midtable Serie A or La Liga club in 2023. Now it's just an agonizing endless story here. He has needed for years to take a paycut and take a step down to then take 2 steps up later. Go now, get out of Dortmund Gio!
Pepi, Turner and Reyna need to move asap and start for a team. Mm tbh there's only 10 decent clubs in Europe. The rest are trash and don't have the budget to compete with teams.
Hes 22 and hes not good enough to play a starting role in the bundesliga hes amazing for an 18 year old but hes not 18 (he couldnt make it at forrest either)
It happens all the time. A player looks great at 17 and people overexitedly extrapolate where his future ceiling may be - but then he does not get there. Surely Gio Reyna's development has been hindered by injuries but we do know that there have been issues with his attitude as well. People need to come to terms with the fact that he'll probably never be as good as they hoped he would become when he was 17. There's a reason he's a squad player at best in Dortmund. It's unlikely that all it takes is another move for him to suddenly bloom. If he wants to join a team where he is the focal point, he needs to cast his eyes down. Get to a weaker league, like the 2nd Bundesliga or the Austrian or Swiss League or the MLS. There is no Bundesliga or Premier League or Serie A team in which he would be the first name in the line-up.
Be careful, they'll soon come for head. They need to lower their expectations for him right now. Also, if you compared Pulisic, Dembele, Bellingham, and Halaand to Rayna, the aforementioned players always wanted to take the game buy the scruff of the neck.
Lmao still talking about the Attitude issues Myth. Literally no one in the German media said anything about attitude issues. Also 2 Bundesliga? Are you daft?

What a legend best commentator to ever live, szoboszlaiiiiii
wth are you on about?
Dereck rae when he ust to commentate on szobo was fun
@@kingu0121 oh...you might want to be more precise in your comments, because there are three different commentators in this video.
Highest ceiling, most technical, is most optimal in the middle of the park lol Gio is definitely who the USMNT is built around

It's hard being a fan of young Gio.
Patrick agyamang is taking over the league today and the whole world believes in this star to watch dude..
He's a big body some speed with hold up play but he's one dimensional. Better defenders at the national level will figure him out
lol, it was time for gio reyna to move two years ago.
He did go to Nottingham Forest last season and managed to score zero goals in ten matches. Not sure who is really interested in him with his injury record anymore.
@@logirexdude hardly played. What are you talking about. And out of those 10 matches how many starts and minutes?
@logirex he only went there because of his crooked agent's relations with nottingham forest, they didn't actually want him. lol, just as you stated, *nobody wants gio reyna.*
@@tacticalmanagerbabymommaak5825 about as much or little as with Dortmund. Clearly neither Forest or Dortmund want anything to do with him 🤷♂
@@logirex so you can't really judge him for results when he doesn't play much. But I blame him for signing and extension with dortmund.
Yes , he have to leave, the problem is that nobody want him . At least no those teams that he expected . It's time for him to accept his reality .
Just because he isn't starting for one of the best clubs in the world doesn't mean he couldn't start in a top five league, just needs to play for a smaller club than Dortmund.
He already tried that with Forest. He should play in Portugal or Netherlands for a few years then move back to a top 5 league

Funny that they want so much for him. Seems like they would be looking to unload him or play him.
Hard to find teams that need a 10
Why doesn't his Mommy go complain for him and get the coach in trouble like she did at the WC....
Didn't realize Dortmund's coach was a wife beater?
Fresh take, not tired at all
A good Eredivisie club. They develop and sell to top clubs.

Bro needed a move two years ago.

"The US team is built around Reyna"?!?!?!. No one challenged that??
Huh? Herc did, he said it’s Pulisic.
@chuckobscure5622 I said that before he answered. To clarify, I was asking why no one challenged that ridiculous assertion immediately.

He’s not a great player. Derek clearly sums it up . He’s a squad player who can’t stay off the treatment table.

Reyna sucks. Always injured, inconsistent.
