Thank you Mr. Paul, this tomato soup recipe looks so easy, I will give it a bash. I hope you are feeling better, and thank you for keeping in contact with your followers, it's much appreciated.
this brings back so many childhood memories when I would indulge after school and dip buttered white bread into the tomato soup ..... it was delicious. I will definitely be making this on the weekend.
I only got into making soups in the past couple of years. Having loads of fun recreating old favourites. This has been my go to recipe for tomato soup since I started.
And when we have fresh tomatoes again here in Maine (sometime at the end of August and through September), this is the second best thing to do with them, after a fresh tomato sandwich. But they keep better cooked in a delicious soup!
Or soup made from sauce from San Marzano's, grown here in Maine and harvested last fall. We are trying that as we speak. If it works we will be able to have home grown soup any time of year. So easy. Just served it up,,,,,,,,,,, Awesome!!! No more store bought ever!
@@marktoldgardengnome4110 I've been trying to figure out how much canned tomatoes to use in place of the fresh ones, so I can make this outside of tomato season! Could you please share how much home-canned tomato you used?
@@cathys949 Happy to share. First, we do not can whole Tomato's. Sauce only. Also our sauce is only plain sauce. No herbs, spices, or vegetables. For us, it just makes life easier to add herbs and spices when making different recipes at time of preparation. Seems no two recipes are the same, and no two taste profiles are the same. By adding what you like it will always come out right, make it your own. We used, 2 pints thick tomato sauce 1 medium onion 1 oz butter 1 cup of hot water 1 chicken bullion cube 1 tsp dried basil 1/2 tsp pepper 1/2 tsp salt 1 tsp sugar Followed Mr Paul's preparation. Yielded 2 large coffee mugs of soup Quite honestly, best mug of soup I've ever had. Smooth and flavorful. Can't wait to try this with fresh tomatoes. 1.5 kg = 3.3 lbs I don't know how that would equate equally from whole canned tomato's. And the water content will very greatly from 1 tomato to another. If yours comes out to watery, simmer it down a bit more, too thick add more stock. (sorry, a bit wordy) Hope this helps.
I don't know what I did wrong. But the cooked soup mixture wouldn't go through the sieve. Some watery soup went through leaving most of the thick stuff behind. How did I mess up
Thank you again For taking your time to do the Tomato Soup again I will definately make this and because Tomatoes are on offer at the moment it's even better😂
This looks delicious, I have fond memories of tomato soup from childhood that my nana used to make, i've never been able to re create it but this one seems like it could be close so im giving it a go, thank you for sharing
Just made this and it was hands down the BEST tomato soup I have ever had! Thank you so much Mr Paul, wish I lived near you so I could bring some for you while your poorly x
Hi Mark, Hi Rosa, nice to hear from you as usual. My Tomato plants are about foot high at present and the rain we had the past week (Also forecast tomorrow) will really give them a boost. Thanks for watching.
Today is the fifth time I’ve made it as you’ve shown. It’s simply Delicious😋 I recommend anyone to give this quick and easy recipe a go👍 Thank you ❤️and you are very much missed x
Hi Tony, , these two were a one off, however almost everyone in my village grow excellent tomatoes. My neighbours Maria Carmen & Hubby Antonio do look out for me and also keep me supplied with veg and eggs too, Thanks for watching.
Mr Paul do you think it would freeze well? I know it’s best fresh but I’m thinking of our long cold Canadian winters when a bowl of delicious hot tomato soup would be so satisfying.
Mr Paul that's a great soup recipe and dead easy but don't laugh I don't like fresh tomatoes but love tinned ones mum used to say your just odd but I can't even stand the smell of fresh tomatoes but I'll try that recipe what tomatoes do you suggest beef ones plum ones or salad tomatoes love fran xxxx
Didn't turn out right for me. Wouldn't run through a sieve. Except very watery fluid. 90% of the solid stuff stayed in the sieve. I tried to coax it through but it was a very slow trickle. Cooked on a simmer on souse vide for the correct time.. blended for a couple of minutes 🤷♂️ Waste of ingredients
Delicious!! A bowl of tomato soup and a grilled cheese sandwich is one of our beloved comfort foods here in America.
One of our favourite comfort foods here in the UK too.
It's my favorite meal and now my children's favorite 😋🥣
Now I can see why your home made tomato soup is in such high demand! Scrumptious! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Thank you for sharing an old favorite. Glad to see you up and around. Its become to easy to open a can this is better 🙋
In Spain no one makes canned soups of any kind, so it has to be home made. Thanks for watching.

I'm not from Spain...
But, I also was raised to not open a can. ☺️
Brilliant attention to the finer details here to make a classic dish to impress!
Thank you Mikw5. also Thanks for watching.

Thank you.
Absolutely the best. Just made some using home made tomato sauce.
Can't wait to make some fresh off the vine.

I have been making this soup every week for my son. I hardly get to have a bowl as he closely guards it. He absolutely loves it.
It does look really good.
Jumbo tomatoes or what?! ☺🍅 So simple yet so delicious and easy to cook 🍅🍅🍅😋
Yes Pete, there are some wonderful tomatoes grown in the village and of course all outside too.
Yay mr paul

Yum! Delicious!
It would be wishful thinking on our part to be able to buy/even grow tomatoes like that.

Miss Mr Paul. I used to ask Mr Paul questions when I got stuck
Great recipe thank you!!
Mr Paul do you think it would freeze well? I know it’s best fresh but I’m thinking of our long cold Canadian winters when a bowl of delicious hot tomato soup would be so satisfying.
Yes it freezes well as it has no thickeners, that's what splits a lot of frozen tings like gravy, soups etc. Thanks for watching.
@@MrPaulsPantry Thank you Mr. Paul.
I miss you Mr Paul 😢
