Wow, this is so good!!! I think actually that you should drop a little bit of the Matched Play content to do more of Narrative like this ...not necessarily Apocalypse sized games but for sure battles with a strong story. Maybe a little bit of Crusade rules from a scenario to another?😅
It would have been interesting to craft a scenario rule for Lictors buying time and ground for the Tyranids, attracting additional deep striking friendly units with their pheromone trails, to build up the presence of assaulting Tyranid units before the real game...🎉🎉🎉
A delightful early Christmas present! Seeing so many different Tau and Tyranid units on the table at once is truly remarkable. And being assigned to The Decapitator is 💪. Thanks to Luke, Jay, and Josh for putting this all together--you guys rock!
“Tau don’t stand a chance against the Tyranids, so they had to make a few phone calls for help!” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 us guardmen don’t call for help, because we Cadians STAND! 🤣🤣🤣🤣GLORY!
Been busy with family and work over Christmas and New Years, finally sitting down to enjoy this. Loving the concept and 12,000 points of T’au is awesome to see! Man. Just getting into it, but these epic multi-stage pieces of the conflict are why I got into the hobby. Telling a grand story on a beautiful backdrop of that table and those models, this is peak 40k
Reminds me of a joint bfg/ 40k apocalypse campaign I ran with a mate who had a LOT of imperial guard. Bfg mission required a single hive ship to enter near orbit, then progressed with initial invasion fleet, main body of invasion missions with key objectives, followed by inquisitor retrieval, and finally 'planet cracker' torpedo detonation deep inside the planet catacombs, denying the great devourer the planet. Great campaign, but of course the tyranids won lol
“We gave the Tyranids a good chance”. Really? 12,000 points of Tau shooting at 6,000 Tyranids going across a huge space with no cover? You are surprised they got shot to pieces? The Tau castled and opened up with hundreds of guns. You should have had more cover and forced the Tau to move about the battlefield to make it fair.
You are ok. I think the same. Nids need a boost of some kind. We thought the auto regeneration for this one would be enough but Tau firepower was blistering. I'm thinking 8 more Tyranofex with auto regeneration would give the tau something to think about 😎😎😎👍
@@StrikingScorpion82 The nids had too far to go with little cover. The board and miniatures were fantastic. Force the Tau out of their castle by making them fulfill a mission like starting closer and escaping the table or having them fight over something in the center. Another thing you could do is have something effect the Tau’s visibility or shooting for a turn or two. What I like about the current system is you can’t castle and win. You must fulfill missions and take territory.
“When the call goes out for help, the tau answer that call.” “Once you join you are precious to them.” Me: awww “There is a resident etheral here.” Me: ohhhh that’s why they answered.
Love that comment “on the menu is crab or fish” Shame the points weren’t even, this would have been even more interesting. Really enjoyed the start with the Kroot village
It gave me the impression that Tyranids would have been more efficient with more small units and more flyers swarm type units. Also, maybe the heavy weapon support for tyranids was insufficient. Tau had way to much overwelming fire superiority, and Tyranids did not have enough units to somehow counter it or interrupt with close combat. Great game and James was missed a lot too. No sound effects this time :(
Was it just me or did anyone else think of LoTR the Two Towers, 'look to my coming, on the 5th day look to the East.' Where was gandalf on that battlefield with the 8 hammerheads lol. Also I love these games but may I give a suggestion, instead of always turanids what if use James Guard, chaos or anything else against Imperium or Tau etc? Not criticising, just a thought that's all 😊
@fergietowers thankyou for replying back BB 😍ive watched this channel plus James and more forest jezzz... 7 plus years. Love what yous guys contribute to. Just an idea to mix it up, I love the Ta'unars my favourite by far. I have close too 10k points of Imperial guard/ old school lol. It's channels like these that make me want to do one myself. Thankyou for inspiration xx
Do you happen to have any Forgeworld tyranid models ? I have a few Dimachaeron’s I know there legendary now but they look really cool lol Or even Hierodule’s that’s my next purchase. Your channel’s definitely influenced my 40k armies first Eldar and now Tyranid.
So correct me if I'm wrong, but 8" is a successful charge no?? You have to deploy 9" away and you are successful if you finish your charge in engagement range, aka within an inch? Is that how it works??
@zig_misa It could be argued that by definition you can be exactly 9" away, so an 8" charge would put you exactly 1" away? Or is the wording that specific??
It's definitely a 9" charge required. I think the specific wording on deployment is 'cannot be within 9" of any enemy models'. Therefore moving 8" from any point under that definition cannot be within 1" of any enemy models. The probability of rolling a 8+ is 50% higher than rolling a 9+.

Unity is our strength human!😎😅
Cadia fell. Even with plenty of help. The imperials did well but If they had more unity cadia prob could still be standing
So much fun to be a part or this, thank you again for the invite to zero in a few Tau big guns “For the Greater Good!” (….and guardsmen smell 😉)
APOCALYPSE Battle Reports are so enjoyable to watch
Don't let James anywhere NEAR that bell! He'll use it in his exhortations to the Emperor, and probably wake the big guy up with it, too!
Oh this is BEAUTIFUL! Never get to see big Tau matches that often outside of this channel, and I'm so here for it!
Always love seeing the bugs in apocalypse’s games. Though I think you might need to invest into some Tyranid super heavies.
Impressive array of T'au! Can't wait to get my army completely painted for an APOCALYPSE game! Thanks for the Apoc fix!!!

This has been one of the most fun matching I've watched in awhile! Love to see my Tau and Bugs going at each other!
Great scenario here, great video. I'd love to see Tau Vs Guard. Guns on gun, no respawning lets see who wipes who out!
I loved the gradual build up and the terrain was beautiful
Striking, there are rumors that new Kroot releases will be coming…do you have any painting vids for your Kroot? They look amazing
Sorry no tutorial yet for the Kroot:)

Love seeing your apocalypse stuff. Would love to see some 30k on this scale and on your boards
I am beyond exited.
Like with two Taunars. Awsome.
Enjoy the battle🙂👍

By the way, I love everything you post. Being a Tyranid player, I am a little biased.

Stoked for this. Love all the Forgeworld Goodness. Its always a pleasure to see peoples collections etc.

Really enjoyed the start with the Kroot village
In the initial skirmish what is the difference in points between the kroot and the nids?
It gave me the impression that Tyranids would have been more efficient with more small units and more flyers swarm type units. Also, maybe the heavy weapon support for tyranids was insufficient. Tau had way to much overwelming fire superiority, and Tyranids did not have enough units to somehow counter it or interrupt with close combat.

The Tau have the Greater good
The Tyranids get the Greater food
👍🙂😅
So… the Tau are here to protect the ethereal. It’s not about the Kroot. Emperor’s teeth they’re lacking honour those Tau!
I gotcha back James!
No apocalypse without the imperium… glad we have nothing to do with this fight…🤣🤣🤣🤣
The Tau challenge you next!😎😅🙂
James is probably sweating looking at his astra militarum, wondering if his army could survive those tau shots 😂
Looking forward to this one!! 💥💥Have a good weekend fellas 👍
Thanks Mitch👍🙂
Nice one to finish the year with. Great battle report. Thanks ❤
Looking forward to this one. The Hive will devour!
Cracking game, loved seeing the scale with 2 xenos armies for a change. Amazing fun
Kroot definitely need better rules and stats - I think it’s overdue that they get an update come the next Tau codex.
EPIC doesn't do this justice. Love this.
I’ve been waiting for a battle like this!
Enjoy🙂👍
Great game a great idea for a scenario. All these factions that have their own titan models, Hierophant for Nids when ? 😆

Last year I had my Chaos Marines vs James’ Imperium in Apocalypse. Warlord titan making an appearance in that one 😁

love the build up and narrative!
Heard the words Tyranids are outnumbered and did not even bother watching knowing the tau would win hahah. Still love the channel
Yeah, lot of Tyranids are wayyyy overcosted rn
looks so good on the table, awesome
That was just epic, best one of the year
why no wolves i would love to see a space wolves vs (any) APOCALYPSE 9000pts game man
Just wondering what is the new rule for advance for tyranids?

@zig_misa Hmmm. I'd love to see an FaQ on something like that. I personally agree with what you're saying, but my son keeps insisting it's only 8".
"and theres a Tau Ethereal diplomat in the Kroot Village"
Ah... so there WAS a secret side reason why the Tau came to defend the village ;P
It's a seafood platter lol
For the GREATER GOOD!!!
What’s the name for the music used
Seriously Why no Bio Titans?
I play my Supremacy Suit at 2,000 points :D
Wow
