I'm in awe of how many Termagants and Hormagaunts you've painted in the past (before contrast paints, no less). It's taken me two weeks just to speed-paint a unit of 20 Termagants. 😵

just a littel reminder that the anti-x rule triggers critical wounds on the required roll. So anti-vehicle 4+ and devastating wounds means wound rolls of 4+ cause mortal wounds. The was relevant on the Hive Crone shooting the Valkyrie.

In the words of James the battle report was GLORIOUS. How could I not watch it again at a higher resolution.
Also the guards defensive line was insane. Medals were earned I'm sure.

A question for the Tyranids: have the Carnifexes ever used the Blistering Assault rule? I surviving to a shooting assault that caused wounds they could surge up to D6+2" inches, even vs Overwatch!!! Another thing for the Militarum: Heavy Bolters have sustained hits 1, so even on overwatch, a 6 hits, wounds and scores an additional hit.
For the Swarmlord: vs an army of tanks, maybe rising up the cost in CPs of the Smoke Strat would be good...
This is, however...EPIC!!!!

@@StrikingScorpion82 another thought about Carnifexes: as the can be a unit of 2 models (they don't have to split in single models after deployment) it could be very good to keep them in pairs, so that if one is slain, the other caan still make a Blistering Assault...

Really I think that GW messed up with Tyranid rules. The Crusher Stampede for example: a monster has to be damaged to be +1 to hit and half dead to have +1 to wound...is it not better to choose Invasion Fleet and select Lethal Hits vs Vehicles? 😢😢😢

Would love to see you guys use a dice roll box/camera... Sometimes it's really hard to see the rolls amidst terrain, and was so nice every time you use the craters, keeping it compact and easy to view.

Is the 4-D6 damage, hitting on 2’s with a 6+ save against the baneblade really balanced? I haven’t played 40k in a year or 2
Yeah was fair in this game. Was about the only decent bit of shooting available to the nids!:)
I play Tyranids as well, and the T-Fex is one of the only long-range anti-tank units we have. They're not cheap, and if you move, it makes them more unreliable. I feel like it balances out decently against mechanized forces.

With how much time and prep work goes into a game like this I'm assuming this was filmed before you got the new mini's finished and if so how do you think stuff like the new norns and the neurolictor would have affected the match?

Keep watching...one of the big new models makes an appearance. I think the new models will help a bit but more potency for the nids will come with the new formations 👍👍🙂

aah great to see your apocalypse games, I love your tables. I'm in a local crusade at the moment and in a few months we'll have our final big battle and I'm building some terrain based on your glorious tables (well it's mostly styrofoam packing but I'll try to fancy it up a bit). James's army (and Mordian glory) were also my main inspiration on starting guard and going for a big army of em, so it's great to see them out in force.

T'au and Astra Militarum have worked together vs the Tyranids as well.
A Feldmarschall out ranks a general. So the General in the command banbelade cant lead the army group. one star general then up to 4 star and when you get your 5 star you are a Feldmarschall or the general of generals.

Carnifex come in unite up to 2 and don't splite like in v9 , so you could have put them in pair

Oh wow! I had a Forge World IG Laser Tank Destroyer, but I fell on hard times and had to sell my Guard army. I wish I had kept that one model. Fantastic!

I was really enjoying it until the genestealer bomb. It just throws the game off and I lose interest as it feels everything up until that point is irrelevant. It just immediately tilts an otherwise tense game in to "already decided" territory.
Fun other than that, though.
Really a reflection of the lore. Plenty of unfair moves so to speak that the tyranids pulled when invading a planet. But yeah if we were playing relatively comparatively this move would have been unfair for sure lol🙂👍😎
