Dont feel bad man. This has happened to me many times. When you are purchasing something new you kinda get a tunnel vision and it's easy to miss things. I'd say the paint issues and the stress and disappointment just narrowed your vision to the most pertinent issue.
I have taken many things home only to discover disappointing things when I have the time and clarity to properly assess them.
Dont beat yourself up, it's a common phenomena. I'd def be pissed off at the dealership though.

Second: we have had some problems with front office and back office at our local keep/ram dealership and now we call the GM directly for service. Third: they have apparently done this before and knew they would need them. I would have them get you rims with the proper offset or a credit to put different rims on.

I love the stance of this truck with the spacers, but and I don't want to swap out my stock 20's, so not sure how it would look without spacers (video suggestion). As long as your torque them and use lock tite, you're good to go. I assume the back space of the wheel wouldnt let the 35s fit. People get in trouble when they dont torque wheel spacers .. I would at very least retorque the lugs on the spacers and wheels, then wheel again in 500 miles. The stealership should have at least gave you a heads up.

Dealer says there no problem. My sister is a engineer for Chrysler for 30 years. I told her about it and she asked me if it had a DVD player, I said yes. She said do the controls for the DVD player come up on the display I said no. She said they added the DVD player aftermarket and spliced into the aux plug in the back of the radio. I get that you missed the spacers on initial inspection as there is no major stance (I might have too). That said, can't figure out the big deal. I'm assuming there are other wheels that have offsets that will give that look without spacers if they worry you that much (it's a simple unbolt and remove), but I see no issue with quality spacers (which rough country are) CORRECTLY installed. Will the increased offset put a little more strain on the front (balljoints, tierods, etc), most likely but no more than a similar offset wheel. I run rear aluminum 1.5-2" spacers on my Duramax and square body pulling truck (for over 15 years now). I tow my pulling truck on a 10K equipment trailer with the Duramax and truck pull with both. The truck pull transfer sled weighs 45,000lbs and stops both trucks dead in their tracks under full power and I have no worries about spacers on either truck. Using cheap Chinese knockoffs with sub-par studs and not checking proper torque would be a concern, but I'm hoping the dealer used quality parts and has a competent tech who installed them. Probably wouldn't hurt to re-check torque after a few hundred miles, but after that I wouldn't worry. I am COMPLETELY new to your channel, but it doesn't look like you overwork/overload your truck, so there should be zero worry when properly installed.

I work for a Toyota dealership and when we lift anything we put control arms on and everything but never allowed to put spacers on no matter what the issue is. A dealer should never do that unless they are expecting a lawsuit.

Before I got my 2nd gen, I ran spidertrak 1.25 inch spacers on my 4Runner for years and they never came loose or gave me any issues. I would just keep em just torque them like 2 times a year maybe 3. Now I know it’s not exactly comparable to your UNIT of a dodge that weights like what 8k and my 4Runner weighing in at around 5k but maybe I could just try and give you piece of mind. Also I think it has the perfect nice slightly more then flush stance, I dig it!

I wouldn't have and I'd be pissed. Sadly that dealer saw you coming they wanted it gone. I'd be raising hell.

My 14 was leveled with 35x12.5 and no rub. My 20 set the same way and rubs like crazy. But your truck looks good thinking about tossing my XD’s and going back to stock wheels and setting up like this.

Never would of noticed, guessed or questioned when sold on a dealers lot. Like you said, there have been some bad happenings when spacers are used - any warranty voiding issues?

I bought a RAM 1500 from Jimmy Britt 6 months ago with a 6” RC lift and 37” Toyo MT’s. I almost bought the truck you have. Just went out and looked. They put spacers on my truck too! Didn’t even know until I watched this video. Simple oversight. Keep making great videos man!

So how did you go with being able to remove the spacers and still run the stock black wheels with 12.5 MT, was there any hassles or was it all good without the spacers.

I have the same question! I have the same truck in gray and it’s literally in the shop getting a leveling kit and 35 Tokyo mts as I’m seeing this. I looked up if it would rub or not because I didn’t know, but I’m over here wondering if I need spacers too?

Do the carli leveling kit and method wheels combo. I believe with a little trim they run 37s

  • @davidse4486

The sales guys had no idea , they sent the truck in for wheels so they could jack the price up. The tire shop put spacers on, they likely put them on everything because they are $30 each.

After all of the minor defects you found when first looking over the truck they should have told you everything else big or small that had been done, not done or was to be done to the truck, especially since they were having to try and get you to go ahead and but it. That said it's a damn good looking truck.

I'm thinking about getting the 3.5 inch carli lift, I believe it comes with newly engineered coils, plus you can run 35's.

Don’t worry. The dealership do dumb things. My uncle bought a lifted tundra from Toyota and it had plasti dip black bumpers when he thought it had satin bumpers as a trim level or painted. It wasn’t until he pressure washed it and the plasti dip came off lol.

They didn't have someone who knows the ins and outs of customizing. They need to tell the customer of all aftermarket mechanical mods.

I own a 2019 with the same wheels but the trans force tires and factory height. I could tell you had spacers because of the little bit of stance but if you came from 14” wide tires, it’s an honest mistake. I’ve always taken my time working car deals and try not to rush. I love my 5th gen and you will too.

Unless you own one of these new Dodge ram trucks, you would have never known that truck had spacers on it from the dealer. That stance looked perfectly legit to probably 99.99% of the people that watched your videos.Don’t be so hard on yourself, do you have a sharp truck

Shit happens, dont worry about it. Was it in the half sticker to the right of the window sticker, where they add $4,000.00 for lift/level and tires?

  • @danielgardner4066

If I am not mistaken You have to run the spacers so you do not rub the frame on the inside and the crash bar on the front We have been doing that at our shop

    Love the truck! Looks great!
I don’t like that the dealership is putting spacers on a new truck. Why dont they just have more offset on the stock wheels. I was looking at getting a ram, but just ordered a 2022 tremor. Now I’m worried that it might have spacers on the stock wheels. Does anyone know if the tremor has spacers?

  • @MrKThomas1976

If you hadn’t of told me it had spaces I would’ve never of guessed, I just put a 3 inch Carli back country system on my Ram 2018 2500 with 37 12.5 R18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers, Method MR701 18” x9” plus 18 offset with No wheel spacers and about the same stance.

    I have a 2019, same set up.
No spacers, wheels rub when turned sharp in reverse.
Also, have you seen your front coils, and see how catywampus they are?
