    What a coincidence, I searched for Mercado de Lisboa on RUclips today but found 0 videos about it. You're the very first RUclips channel that presents this game to all of us congrats! Because of you two I'll definitely back this plus add 2 more Lacerda games in the pledge manager. The most complicated game I've played is Terraforming Mars so I probably shouldn't get On Mars based on your earlier Lacerda video :-D I consider solo mode as well so I'm thinking to get Vinhos and the Gallerist or Lisboa aside Mercado de Lisboa. Are these good choices? Thank you and keep up the fantastic work

    • @marcosoenke
      @marcosoenke 4 года назад +2

      We just started our Lacerda collection with The Gallerist, which is great. A lot of people recommend this as a starter. But I would say every Lacerda game (except Mercado) is probably heavier than Terraforming Mars. But don't worry: In our young experience with boardgames we learned: The more heavy games you play, the easier it gets. And the great videos of these two guys definitely help (one of our favorite channels). We will also back this one in september and go for Lisboa and On Mars next.

      @@BeforeYouPlay Thanks a mil! No never, I've never played a Lacerda game before, that's why I'm thinking carefully which 2 games I will add to the pledge aside Mercado. Probably Gallerist en Vinhos though...although the theme of On Mars and Lisboa appeal more to me..tricky tricky!

      @@marcosoenke Thanks a mil for your comment Marco, it's good to know that the more you play heavy board games, the easier it gets! I understand it's ambitious to jump from terraforming mars to a Lacerda game, so I think I will follow your advise by adding the Gallerist to the pledge. The other one will probably be Vinhos? I do like the themes of Lisboa and On mars though...Kanban looks interesting as well. Which one is your favourite so far?

    • @BeforeYouPlay
      @BeforeYouPlay  4 года назад

      Yeah the most wonky part is calculating the coins when scoring customers. We found that If you analyze each stand individually when scoring it makes it much smoother.

  • @davidtheriault5014
    @davidtheriault5014 3 года назад

    Excellent play through and tutorial. A few observations about the board though. I wish the developers has placed a small box showing the restaurant->stand examples to ease the scoring, especially for new players. A quick glance to see, for example, pizza benefits the tomato, etc. would be nice, but an easy to make player aid fixes that. You guys produce high quality videos that really help new players grasp the concepts and rules of games. Very enjoyable to watch.

    This game looks very interesting, and I think I will back it when it comes to Kickstarter. My only gripe is that the board looks unnecessarily large with a lot of space being taking up for the roof aesthetic. I think even without it the theme would still carry through or at least make it a little narrower. Just my own opinion. 😊

    • @BeforeYouPlay
      @BeforeYouPlay  4 года назад +2

      It is, but fortunately it's not a massive big box like other Eagle Gryphon Games boxes can be. I believe the roofs are to simulate what the real market looks like.

    Just a small correction about the endgame (@11:07): there is nothing stating that every player has the same number of turns. e.g. in a 2-player game, if the 2nd player triggers the end-game then the 1st player would have an extra turn and then the game ends.

    Interesting. The whole time I was waiting for that one additional layer of complexity. I mean it is thinky as it is but somehow I thought there will be that one element that's not initially apparent to elevate the game. Looks solid though.
