Hi Becky, here's my french grandmere's french salad dressing. Use 1 teaspoon of Dijon mustard, mix in a half teaspoon ground sea salt add a couple of twists of ground black pepper. Next add 1 tablespoon of red wine vinegar, then add 2 tablespoons of the best olive oil. I make this in a jar which I shake until its an emulsion. Bon appetit! Hugs Anne in France x
I was visiting a girl in France with a friend of hers and she took us to a restaurant and we had, as a starter, a lettuce salad on a plate with this white looking dressing. Well it was one of the tastiest dressings ever, sorry lettuce with dressing. It was a white dressing. Do you think this was the the same dressing?
@@gaymccoll9309 A home made dressing that's white is often make using white wine vinegar instead of re wive vinegar and the all the ingredients are whisked with a hand whisk or electric whisk. And a pinch of sugar is added. Also there is a recipe using a little mayonnaise and adding a lot more oil and some water. Or there's also a type of green sauce made using only mustard and oil salt and pepper. Once it's all mixed, add lids of chopped parsley and chopped sorrel, this mostly used for fish. Anne in France 😌😊
I am not from france, but I am French Canadian, and we often make homemade dressing with sour cream as well. I dont know if this is an old french recipe that made it's way to Canada many moons ago, but it is common here. It's very good. Sour cream, a little bit of milk, salt and pepper. Some add mustard to it as well. Yummy.

Made the BLT salad. I used a rotisserie chicken from Costco, it worked out to just about 6 cups of shredded chicken/Costco chicken. Because one of the people I was fixing this for, doesn’t tolerate onions well I used about half the amount of green onions/scallions and replaced the red onion with finely diced celery. It was a hit with both the onion and non onion lovers in the group.

With Everything that is going on in the world its just really nice to watch someone that makes me feel like I've learned something and gives me the strength to get off my butt and be productive!!! Your just wonderful Becky!!!❤❤❤
Hi Becky. There is a lot of flavour that can be found in the cilantro stalks. If you just cut off the very ends, the stalks can be cut finely to add to your salads. Alternatively bag and freeze them until you have enough to chop into cilantro lime rice - or put them into processor with garlic and butter to top garlic bread. Another use is to process with lemon zest, seasoning, chilli flakes and butter to make a log of flavoured butter to top grilled chicken.
OMG! I should not have watched this at dinner time without having dinner or any of the ingredients in my fridge!! You should leave a warning like "Do not watch this video if you are hungry and don't have the ingredients to make any of these salads!" 😍😋😩
I went through a lot of the comments and I didn't see this so here...tip on Chicken. You can prep it the night or day before by putting it in a crock pot and even using frozen breasts. Frozen takes about 8 hours on low, or 4 hours on high depending on how much you cook. For easy shredding, right in the pot use a hand mixer and take the beater to it. Quick and easy without adding a lot of liquid to the chicken. I just let it cook in it's own juices but you can add seasoning right at the beginning and the flavor really gets into the chicken. It's pretty much the same as poaching but I find it easier when I need to do a lot of chicken or don't want to heat the house up in the summer by using the stove.
Please, please, never put frozen meat in a slow cooker!! Always defrost it first. My former housemate put frozen chicken in his crock pot and a few minutes later we hear this loud cracking sound. Salad 1 looks so fresh and delicious. I live by Temecula California. Now known for many vineyards. But now it also has olives. And a olive oil company with many very tasty olive oils. Small batches and a tasting room that rivals the wine tasting rooms. Especially since I'm not a wine drinker.
The Thai Chicken Salad with Peanut Sauce is the 1st one of these I'm going to make. I don't normally eat peppers, but with the dressing and everything else, I think I'll like them just fine. I'm also going to put some cucumbers in it as you suggested. I enjoyed this video so much...I love salads too!

You’re amazing Becky! You inspire me to want to be in my kitchen and prep and cook for my family (after retirement), so cooking is new to me since I’ve been head of household for five decades. I enjoyed watching you make all of your salads, and they look fantastic and easy to make. My very favorite meal that you made was your Mediterranean meal for some guests that were visiting you and you serve them baklava, and the most delicious Mediterranean meal I have ever seen anyone make. Thank you for inspiring me to wanna eat healthier and to enjoy my garden. Lastly, I also loved your soap making and lip gloss making content. You are so creative and enjoyable to watch. Thank you for putting so much joy in my life and in the lives of your viewers.
Had to come back and say I made 2 of these already and they’re very good. I added pasta to the one with the Italian meats and beans. Tomorrow I’m making the Thai salad and I’m cutting wonton strips and frying them to top of the salad for extra crunch. I like adding this on Asian salads.
Hi Becky. Hi friends! I want to do more salads, but I'm not a fan of any type of lettuce or kale, so these sound yummy. I don't mind occasionally but not everyday.
Couldn't get the BLT salad out of my head until I made it. Happy accident: I didn't get my red onions in the oven with the chicken (I think that was the instructions). So, I fried them in the bacon grease until super tender. Drained and patted well. May do it that way every time! Delicious! Can't wait to try the others. You're a joy and inspiration to watch.
These are great! We've been having daily heat index of 43C (109F) or higher in the Philippines right now and I've been stocking up on cold, protein rich salads. Bonus for me is the carb content for most of these are manageably low which work for people w diabetes. Thanks for posting!
Baking cubes of yam, seasoned appropriately for your salad, extends and fills bellies and adds tons of nutrition. For the cowboy caviar I would probably season yams, while baking, with chili powder or cumin. I make a black bean, yam, mango, red pepper salad with lime and jalapeño dressing. For that I roast the yam cubes with coriander and olive oil, salt and pepper.
FYI, including the stems of the cilantro is not only frugal it adds a bit of crunch. No need to toss them. Also, no need to peel onions or shallots when making stock or broth. Lots of nutrients in skins. I too love shallots as a base for broth or stock. Just a hint more sweet!
Since you buy corn on the cob in bulk from a local farmer, l saw this & thought of you. They took the cobs & made a corn jelly. They said it was absolutely delicious. Maybe try it for us. Yum. God bless you all and many prayers 🙏🏻

Whoohoo! Just finished in the garden and walked the dog. Relaxing now and Becky’s pretty face pops on! 🎉❤💪🏼
Yay! I've got some new salad recipes to try! I appreciate that none of these included pasta.
I'm near Canyon Lake, I lived in Temecula from 89 to 98. What is the olive oil company called? I would love to go there!!
Totally Awesome Salads!!!
👏👏👏👏 Let’s not leave out the beautiful, my favorite purple friends in the background!!! 👍😎😎😎
Aren't they pretty!!!!!!!
Thank You Becky. After a hard day at work you are part of my distressing. You help me refocus on what's important.
I hope you were able to discover that label on the red pepper before you diced it up :).
I saw it too. I was saying take the sticker off before you loose it in the salad .
The stickers on vegetables are eatable. They use paper made from vegetable oil. It will not hurt you. It's not very pleasing to the eye, though.
I was thinking the same thing!
@@TracyShead-Stamey They may be where ou're from, but not where I am. Get rid of the stickers!
@user-gw8wy4ij6z I am in West Virginia, one of the poorest states, so if they are here, they are everywhere.
I love your videos both from a growing, using, recipes and freezing point of view. Live in Scotland and love to cook anf grow my own vegetables and fruit so its great to see what you can do with them. Your enthusiasm is wonderful to see.
Yeah Becky Time😊
You’re amazing Becky!
Heck yeah, cold pickle juice is awesome
Had to come back and say I made 2 of these already and they’re very good. I added pasta to the one with the Italian meats and beans. Tomorrow I’m making the Thai salad and I’m cutting wonton strips and frying them to top of the salad for extra crunch. I like adding this on Asian salads.
Hi Becky. Hi friends! I want to do more salads, but I'm not a fan of any type of lettuce or kale, so these sound yummy. I don't mind occasionally but not everyday.
Broccoli salad is awesome if your not a big fan of lettuce or Kale
Couldn't get the BLT salad out of my head until I made it. Happy accident: I didn't get my red onions in the oven with the chicken (I think that was the instructions). So, I fried them in the bacon grease until super tender. Drained and patted well. May do it that way every time! Delicious! Can't wait to try the others. You're a joy and inspiration to watch.
I so love salads 🥗 and I watched this video all the way through. 😊 thank you for sharing this beautiful recipes Becky
These are great! We've been having daily heat index of 43C (109F) or higher in the Philippines right now and I've been stocking up on cold, protein rich salads. Bonus for me is the carb content for most of these are manageably low which work for people w diabetes. Thanks for posting!
Excited to take these to the beach with me next month...
I love cilantro too. I drank pickle juice as a child and I still do sometimes.
Since you buy corn on the cob in bulk from a local farmer, l saw this & thought of you. They took the cobs & made a corn jelly. They said it was absolutely delicious. Maybe try it for us. Yum. God bless you all and many prayers 🙏🏻
I made some a few years ago. It's delicious and sweet.
Fresh corn polenta…labor intensive, but soooo good!
I did drink pickle juice as a child and I still do. Both of my sons also love pickles and pickle juice.
I couldn't get the description to come up. I will try again tomorrow because I really want those salad recipes. They all looked so good. I can't wait to get them in my frig.
Be Blessed, Debra
My father-in-law drank a small glass of pickle juice every day. He lived a very full life. I think he knew it was good for the body!
Pickle juice is great for heartburn.
I have the cowboy salad with a lime base dressing and they use black eyed peas so good with the lime
The view of that big bunch of fresh vegetables by your cutting board is pretty & inspiring. It’s a good personification of your channel! Homemade, home grown and fresh.
I LOVE adding cowboy caviar over eggs in the morning or in breakfast burritos and also on fish tacos! It’s delish with everything!! Making the grinder salad for a pool party next week thank you!!
In my country we are getting into the soup season 😂 its finally getting colder here, but salads are great for any day imo ❤
All those salads look FANTASTIC!! I can hardly wait to make each one of them!! Thank You!!
Hi Becky! What brand of olive oil do you use? I looked in the description but didn't see a link. Thanks!❤
Here it is 10pm. on a cold winters night in southern Australia,…..
and I’m making myself an inspired salad!
Thanks for cranking up my salivary glands!
🙏🏾💕🎶🦋🐸
Provolone would be good also. This looks like chopped anti pasta. That is popular in my area.
Thanks again Becky, I love your shows they make my day. I love salads all year round, in winter I leave them out to get to room temperature before I eat them.
🎉Becky time
So far I have made the grinder salad and the BLT. So good! Keeping them in the recipe rotation.
Roasted red pepper in your bean salad instead of cherry tomatoes.❤😋
Oooh, perfecto!
I can’t wait to try all of these salads! One looks better than the other. I also love salads when it starts getting warm!! Thank you for sharing!
Ohhhh, I loved pickle juice as a kid & now. Everyone thought I was nuts! 😂
My daughter like her dad they would drink it out the jar. Yes we had ours
@@nanfaircloth I'm 61 and still do!
❤ 😂 How she says a few teaspoons of honey and you see it flowing and flowing and…..flowing. At the end it all it’s the individual’s preference of taste. I commend her for all she does. She’s a wife, mother, daughter, gardener, RUclipsr, and editor among other roles we are unaware of 👏🏽😊
Becky, We have not seen your CHICKENS in a long time. Miss them while you are gardening. Love your videos!!!!!!!
Those saladas look so delectable! As you said, perfect for a nice cool meal on a hot day or for a potluck or last minute invitation to the neighbors'. Thanks for the recipes.
