    It´s much easier to handle the naked cb 650 than the CBR. On the naked bike you sitt more straight up and can move yourself much easier to get the balance.The CBR are your weight on your arms and that limits the freedom to move your body on the motorcycle. I would recomend the Naked bike for a driverslicence test.

      Have you noticed how much Supercar Blondie has boomed in the shortest time (growth exploded since June this year)?
      I subscribed to her like when she was at 30k subs? And that's not even that long ago (like 2 years or so). Now she's almost beating Shmee150's 1.8M subs! Crazy.
      I guess 'hot blonde' and 'cars' mix well to get subs. She does occassionally have some exclusive access to events and vehicles, I'll give her that.
      She does seem lovely, is quite pretty as well and all that, but she isn't particularly automotive excellence. Neither is Paul. :P And he ain't no hot chica either.

      And me kinda turning it into the topic of 'sex sells' and other strategies. If he'd get a chick to be in the video and thumbnail his subs would probably go up.
      Or... he'd have to actually make solid automotive journalism happen, with more exlusive access and in-detail looks.
      Still though, he's ahead somehow of both MrJWW and Seenthroughglass, so he's done something better than them although I don't find that reflected in the content.

    Just a quick tip for next time. A U turn is best done by slipping the clutch whilst using the rear brake. Use the revs against the rear break. Hope this helps.

      @TS-jd9qs Год назад

      What does slipping the clutch mean?

    • @andrewdent696
      @andrewdent696 Год назад +2

      @TS Don't let the clutch fully out. Hold at a bitting point with a few revs. On a powerful bike, and you want to hard accelerate from a standing start, you need to slip the clutch, or you would flip it.

    • @TS-jd9qs

      @@andrewdent696 thanks! What does using the rear break do during a u turn?

    • @andrewdent696
      @andrewdent696 Год назад +5

      @TS By applying a little rear break, it stops the bike from surging forward too quickly. So by applying a little rear break along with dragging the clutch, you have so much more control.
      So, select 1st gear, apply a few revs, let the clutch out slowly (to bitting point), and apply a little rear break. Increase revs and let the clutch out a little bit, but keep a small amount of rear break on.
      Don't let the clutch out fully, control the bike on the clutch and revs

    I passed my m/c test in '77 in Jersey (Channel Islands) which was actually harder than the mainland UK test (followed by an examiner in a car for 45 minutes) but that was 8 days after getting the bike. The key difference between our experiences is, I think, that I was on the road 2-3 hours a day, every day, until the test. It's good to have quality instruction as you're learning but it's almost impossible to get away without a certain amount of time-on-road just to get muscle memory and instincts keyed in!
    And the next VITAL component will be doing an advanced riding course - but that is better once you've put a few thousand miles under your wheels, just to have that level of machine-familiarity. I should add that an advanced course is actually bloody fantastic fun to do - it's in no way a chore or a bind - it's an absolute blast!!!

    I always recommend everyone does their bike licence. I did mine years ago, was one of the best experiences on a bike and I have had some since then lol. when I drove home after it was all done I called the insurance company to tell them I want insurance on my ZX6R and a deal was done at just £360 fully comp less than one hour after passing, complete madness but I was happy.
    I love bikes and riding but since I had my accident 3 years ago I’ve not been able to get back out. Not so much because I’m scared of it as I definitely am not as I used to ride on back wheel everywhere, Literally every where I went, but when you lay on that cold tarmac in the worst pain every with a shattered pelvis and punctured lung, bleeding out now know if you are gonna make it to the hospital.
    There’s a very VERY real thought that goes through your head and it’s one for each and every family member you have and how they will feel when you’re gone.
    Married with 3 kids, after my operation i decided to hang my gear up and I’ve not ridden since.
    HOWEVER, I had some of the best years on my bikes (lots of them) and I 100% fully recommend everyone does it, so on that depressing note.
    Paul I wish you all the best, you’ll smash it next time and I can’t wait to see what madness comes there after. Ride safe, keep it upright and have fun. Need any tips for wheelies I can help you when you’re are ready, learn correctly, as bad advice will see you picking your bike up in pieces.

    I have an electric bycycle for London city commute atm.
    How many motorcycle training hours should I book in to have a chance of passing the test for a licence that will allow me to ride a Honda Forza 350cc ?
    Or should I forget the 350cc for the moment and get a HF 125cc with the CBT licence and apply for full licence after a year or two of practice with the 125cc?
    Thanks.

    Not only spend time practising your bike skill but also your anticipation for your nerves and how you are going to deal with them. Good luck for your next one.

    I failed my first bike test by putting my foot down in the u turn. I know just how you felt! The worst thing was u turns were my specialty- out riding in my lessons I could do them so easily. Anyway, went out on my 125 and practiced u turns every night for a couple of hours, on every type of road until my next test. Which I passed 😁

    As I understand failing this test is not an issue. Most people probably already have their bike and are already on the road on L plates, so the only thing lost is the time it took to go and do it and the £15 or so it costs. More than likely pass next time and quite possibly not bother doing another u-turn for quite some time and probably just paddle the big old boot down when you do.

    I'm not a biker so I'm not sure but I have heard you can change gear without using the clutch on a bike because of the sequential gearbox. Might be totally wrong but could help while your getting used to the bike

    • @_chenn
      @_chenn 5 лет назад

      Cyapow most modern sportbikes have a quick shifter. But that said yeah you can go up the gears without the clutch just wouldn’t advise down without the clutch

    Try to stick with the same bike from before every time as because beginners will find it difficult to get the throttle control and balance of a bike they have not ridden before. Anyway keep going it took me 3 attempts before i passed the manouvres

    I don't understand how you are allowed to ride a 600 cc bike on the public roads with L plates,
    That would have been illegal,
    Max cc with L plates was 125 cc,
    Unless they have changed the law,
    Check out my ZX9 vids,
    Yes the best drivers do pass second time !!

    I hated doing a U-turn and nearly 2 years later since I passed I still hate them and still suck at doing them.

  • @Mr.M1STER
    @Mr.M1STER 3 года назад

    That was unlucky. It looks like you leaned with the bike, probably due to nerves and the 100 things going through your head at the time and believe me I know how it feels. Good that you could still smile after it though. I passed my test in Ireland yesterday and our test is slightly different. It has much if not all of the same elements but we do everything out on the road so there is just one test and not two parts like the UK.

    Tough jumping on a bike with clip ons any trying a U-turn with only a few hours on the bike. You look like you would have aced it with the cb and the handle bars. Hard luck man.

    I know this was four years ago, but one advice for anyone watching this: sports bikes and sports touring machines like the CBR650R are awful for these tests. It's not impossible, obviously, but you're not doing yourself any favors by using them.

    I have both, I hope tomorrow.

    Guys........ you gotta have confidence in your abilities, provided you've done enough training !
    The main reason for failure is due to your nerves..... & you will be nervous as hell.
    Take your time, think before you act, slow it down in your mind & have some fun showing the examiners that you're a confidant & competent rider !
    Now get out there, have faith in your abilities & smash that shite 👊🏽💩
