    This video is to bring you a closer look at the Alarm Lock PG21 Key Activated Door Alarm.
    The cover has a spring loaded operation which turns when you rotate a root cylinder from the exterior or the mortise cylinder.
    That aspect allows it to be auto self arming when this is rotated and it snaps back you can pull the switch and it will automatically re-arm. The PG21 is an incredibly capable alarm system that does more than goes off. There are four siren sounds that gives you the ability to change the jumpers that are on computer boards. Modifying the jumpers will give you different siren sounds such as a sweeping sound and a siren with a two minute timeout. A link will guide you through this process.
    There are four different alarm modes for a variety of applications. There is the factory default which will be the highest security monitoring a single door. Features such as a two minute siren timeout, key required to exit and turn off the alarm, opening the door without a key will make the siren go off automatically. Modifying the jumper settings will allow you to have variations on the highest security settings such as entry and exit without the key, delivery mode which is the instant non-latching mode. Siren turns off and alarm resets when door is closed. Two minute delivery mode with non-latching alarm, no key needed to open the door without alarm but when the door is open for more than two minutes the alarm sounds. This single unit can monitor multiple doors at the same time by monitoring the jumper settings, also giving you different sounds per each door you are going to monitor. There is a jar mode that allows you to enter and exit without a key per the setting of jumper settings. If door is left open then sound will alarm. Manual arm and disarm mode. Manual arm mode would mean you would have to manually remove latch. You can use as back door for use with the on off mode when disarmed without a key by beeping for two seconds when open. This is a versatile unit. The parts list allows you to wire the terminal switch and add a relay alarm by terminals 1-3. Terminals 4 and 5 allow the inclusion of reed switches which allow you to modify a series of doors. Important note, 50 feet is the maximum length of wiring for the unit to work. You can hard wire the unit by considering how to run the power to the door unit. You can have a door bell with unit 8. If you have a strobe unit then you can have a strobe application. As you can see, this item does more things a single person can use them for. The jumper has to be set so the magnet is on the opposite side. You will get proportion the strike portion which is called the magnet housing. The magnet itself and the threaded collar for the installation of a standard mortise cylinder. Mortise cylinder and room cylinder for outside control is not included. The screws to install it are included. A tamper switch and a tamper screw are included. The tamper switch directly is in alignment with the body. You will get four overhead machine screws. When you install the tamper screw it takes the unit from magnet alignment mode to the normal standard mode. You will want to test this to make sure it works when getting it installed to make sure this works, that the magnet is the proper distance away and proper distance between the two arrows. Low battery that will last two years. Includes battery and decal. This product, although a lot of money is well worth the money due to incredible amount of details and incredible technical support.

    When I put a new battery in the LED turns on and stays on until it kills the battery. No noises are made when I turn the key or open the door.

    If this lock works using a reed switch does that mean it could be bypassed with a magnet?

    • @absupplynet
      @absupplynet  5 месяцев назад

      I don’t see how. What would be your approach to bypass that when the doors in the closed position and what would be your approach to bypass the unit when the doors in the open position?

    People forget to push the blue button inside on the left corner before putting it back in place. The brand ones don't have that button anymore.

    Since this is the only video out, let me make a few comments that might save you hours of pulling your hair out. Got a call that someone replaced the battery on pg21 and now it does not work. Make sure you you put the long screw back in the bottom left hole so that it can catch the contactor!! I had no paperwork, and no where does it say that on the inner panel. That's all it was! Putting the freaking long screw back in the correct hole!!!

      It would be very helpful if you were to make about a 30 second video of this condition and send it to us and in the meantime I would review the installation instructions as seen here: s3.amazonaws.com/s3-absupply-net/pdf/alarmlockpg21installation.pdf on page 3 and in particular the references to the annunciator.

    Hi there. Tried to replace the battery in one of these today. With a brand new battery installed, it still makes the "low battery" chirp. Do you know why this might be? Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

      +ProphetClaudia Have you eliminated the possibility the replacement battery too is old, used and unfit for use?

    • @ProphetClaudia
      @ProphetClaudia 8 лет назад

      +RICHARD HOWARD Thank you for your reply! It was indeed a new battery. I think I actually resolved this issue a few hours ago. I had left the screws loose in case I had to take the unit off the base again, but as soon as I screwed the tamper screw all the way in, the beeping stopped. I didn't know it would beep w/o the tamper screw! The locksmith who installed it in the first place threw away all the accompanying paperwork. Thanks again!

    We have two that have been chirping. After changing the batteries and making sure the tamper switch screw is secure, they still chirp. In addition, now neither of them alarm when the door is opened. The alarms were install prior to us moving to the building so we don't know who installed them. How can I find someone who is knowledgeable in this product to service or repair them?
