The reason for the no stick drift is that there's a built in deadzone same as the victrix gambit that you can't remove, makes it a real shame because other than that the controller feels pretty decent, I've also noticed around 90% input it registers max input which makes your overall aim a little bit more twitchy, i hope they address it and bring in some software to calibrate the sticks properly
I have the Fusion Pro 1 and Pro 2 and love them both. I just got the 3 and the buttons on the back are awesome. But I noticed when aiming small movements felt very twitchy and I felt I couldn't aim as well as with the 1 or 2. So I kept swapping back and forth between the 2 and the 3 and sure enough, there is definitely something wonky with the sticks on the 3. I was really disappointed because I like the back buttons so much better than the paddles.
I returned my Fusion Pro 3 not long after my previous comment due to the wonky sticks, it was a deal breaker compared to how nice the sticks worked on the 1 and 2. But when I saw recently there was an Xbox app for PowerA controllers and that there was a firmware update for the 3, I decided to buy another one and try it again. I don't know if it was the firmware update that fixed the stick problem, because the firmware update said it was needed to allow the controller to work with the Xbox PowerA app and nothing about any fixes, (the firmware update has to be applied via a Windows computer) or maybe my first 3 was just a bad one, but this new one has none of the stick problems the first had. I am really digging this controller because I am so much more comfortable with the buttons on the bottom instead of the paddles. My only complaints with the 3 are it not having the weights inside and the cord doesn't have the quick-release thing like the 1 and 2 have to avoid them getting jerked loose at the Xbox USB port. I really liked how the heavier 1 and 2 both sat in my hands while playing and the quick-release was nice when my goofy dog would walk by sometimes and catch his paw in the cord. But since the cord from my 2 fits, I just use that cord instead of the included one. The weights aren't a deal breaker and I'm sure I will get used to the lighter feel.
@@okmike87 so with the firmware update, you're saying that it no longer feels twitchy? Because that was my main problem. That and it wasn't very accurate when slightly off centre plane. Just say if I pull down and to the right about 3 degrees it won't register the right movement at all just straight down until I get to about 5-6 degrees
@@bahgoesthesheep I don't know for sure if it was the firmware update since I didn't try this new one in a game before I applied the update. But I can say for sure this one has none of the problems I experienced with the first Fusion Pro 3 I bought a few months ago (which were the same problems you described).
@@okmike87 yeah I'd say it was included in the firmware. I've had one friend and seen a couple of RUclipsrs say very similar things. It's a shame because I purchased it when it first came out for me in Aus used it once and it was unplayable and it's been in the cupboard ever since. Cheers man I'll give the update a go tomorrow morning.
Great review, man! I had both the PowerA Fusion Pro 2 and a Scuf, but took a break from gaming for a year. When I got back, I saw the Fusion Pro 3 and picked it up last August-no issues at all. It works like a charm! It's not quite a Scuf, but for the price, it's an amazing controller with the rear buttons, etc. I did run into one issue when I connected it to the PowerA app on Xbox-some buttons stopped working, but a quick reset fixed it. Overall, highly recommend!
The Fusion 3 is much better than the fusion 2. For 80 dollars it's a steal. Or buy a Xbox elite and take a chance of winning the lottery that it actually lasts longer than a week. Good video
@@datmandeyah_8083 I've had it awhile now and no issues. Only thing is my trigger stops work better in the middle position. The last position makes the pull shorter but in game the middle position fires quicker. The stops are the weakness of the fusion pro 3 but works just fine. It's very impressive for the price point
Months go by, and my Pro 3 is exactly like it was out of the case.i think it's been about 8 months now. I play Fortnite at 8% 1 stick and 9% for other one. Haven't touched it since start of chapter 4. It's actually impressive. Elite you have to change deadzones every few weeks. I dunno how a 80 dollar controller vs a 200 dollar one has 0 issues. It's embarrassing. I bought a 2nd one for my son and he loves it
They will be $50 new on ebay in like a month and then it'll be a no brianer. I absolutely love my power a spectra I got for $20. It's hard not having at least two back buttons once you've used them.
PowerA is solid. I have the Spectra which was 35 dollars about a year ago and haven't had a single issue with it. Very responsive when connected to my PC. A lot of reviews said they were damaged fast or faulty but I honestly think it was user error rather than manufacturing. The only reason I bought the fusion 3 is because I saw my favorite streamer using a controller with 4 paddles on the back. I have no doubt this 80 dollar controller will be a great upgrade.
As far as the controller goes, I was looking for good back buttons. Those back buttons are game-changers when I play action games like Lies of P or Elden Ring, to be able to swap and use items while still moving is great. Playing a shooter like Resident Evil and being able to use face buttons without interrupting my movement or aim is also great. Been a long-time KBM user but honestly, I mained keyboard and mouse because I used to play online competitively. Since I don't do that anymore, I switched to Linux and I'm looking for a controller again that'll help maintain a smooth experience.
I did find however though that it lasted about a year before I got stuck drift and the right stick went bad. But in all honesty for over half the price of a scuff you can't go wrong and never had a problem with any of the straight out the box like you get with scuff or the elite ones. I've had two of them about got a 3rd coming today and both where pretty solid.
Honestly imo PowerA is the best budget controllers on the market I had the fusion 2 and loved it and it lasted a good 2 years so I had no hesitation buying the fusion 3.
Best controllers for me are elite series 1 then the older model scuff Xbox controller, then power a 2 so hopefully these paddles and analogs are nice, I’d hate to spend 200 for a reflex
Awesome video as usual. Point of feedback, you were looking off screen frequently which made it hard to focus on what you're presenting, I just wanted to know what you kept looking at 😂
I very nearly just clicked buy for the scuf until I saw this I play mw2 a few times a week just for fun I had the gambit and it's just broken, all I need are fast triggers and the back buttons , 80£ Vs 210£ lol no brainer .
And by the way the victrix gambit is a very good fast controller for the same price I'm just a bit to heavy handed so I break them quite a lot, but it's a really good one and you get Dolby Atmos free for life
I've had the PowerA Fusion 2 for about 18 months and use it about 6 hours a day, just now needing a new switch plate for the back. * . it’s definitely budget, no controller is 20$ especially not one with paddles. For instance the Xbox Elite Controller is near 200 with all the same features as the fusion. This controller lasts longer and is cheaper, definitely a good option
DO NOT BUY THIS CONTROLLER!! I'm on my 3rd one now and the sticks keep drifting bad. It feels great until it stops working. Good luck trying to recalibrate it. Is the acuatation of the back buttons faster than the trigger buttons?
Probably, in the series 2 I had problems with the trigger locks, they snapped internally but the trigger still worked, they did feel spongey
