This is a complete CDL Class A pre-trip inspection with air brakes.
To pass your CDL license this is one of the major components.
The purpose of a pre-trip inspection for the purposes of a driver's test is NOT to determine if the vehicle is safe.
Rather it's to demonstrate that you know the names of the major components of the vehicle and whether these are working and not damaged.
Because most of the components of the truck have either air or fluid in them, your mantra is: “secure, not damaged, not leaking.”
And no, you don’t get a checklist for this exercise; it must be done from memory.

If i had to do this inspection every morning before leaving the yard I'd find another job!
It's only for the license test. Once you start the job, you do it over the course of the day. And no employer is going to pay you to day a 45 minute pre-trip at the beginning of the day. See this video: ruclips.net/video/_9H3EWVRyQc/видео.html All the best, Cheers Rick

A doubt:
In the day to day work, should I carry out this inspection before any trip? before the first trip of the day? or every certain number of kilometers travelled?

Before the first trip everyday. Then do your post trip everytime you park the truck for the night, to drain your tanks and check for other things.
In 2012 when I did my Class 3 and Air Brake Tests in ALBERTA, we weren't required to demonstrate/check pushrod travel with any hand tools...
Is that something required for Class 1 only, is it State or Province dependent, or is it a newer requirement for the test ?
I'm currently upgrading my license to a Class 1, road test booked for Aug 2 / 2022... Three days of training booked this week.
Just trying to watch & learn as much as possible. Not sure if I'm required to redo the air-brake portion. I have a $100k oil-patch job offer riding on me passing the road test.
Hi John - yes, it's changed my friend. You'll be required to do the pry-bar method for your pre-trip inspection. It's what you see in the video my friend. I just took the pre trip test they don't honor damage no more to vague of a word the tester said it has to be from the cdl manual word for word nowadays.
