Tesla's website is intersting. For example, if you look at what's available in N.J,. they sell demo vehicles or new vehicles for thousands more that is advertised on their website.
I’ve been thinking about this for a while now, if FSD learns by watching “good drivers” handle certain situations is it possible that it will also learn from seeing “bad drivers” on the road corrupting the system over time ? Or is that not considered by the software?

What’s “funny” about the FSD test videos is that here in the UK, I would experience almost none of them. Literally all these “failed” cases that I see are non-existent here. Which means, the UK is ready for the FSD as is! 🤞

Emergency is flashing blue.
Attention is flashing yellow/orange.
Green is - "beware the sign will switch to yellow soon"
I have not seen flashing red in Europe traffic since 1984.
Typically it is an emergency setting when there is a problem with the system controlling traffic lights

Hi, I am a California driver and I have been watching Tesla for years. Not able to own one due to my financial condition. Anyway, I drive the I-5 highway from Redding in the North to The Inland Empire (Riverside Co.) several times a year. When I was in school we started counting VW bugs, calling them Slug Bugs as a pastime to while away the hours on the road. Since VW bugs are no longer that plentiful, I started noticing truckloads of Teslas on the highway so I started counting them. Funny thing, this year they are not so common, however, this last week I had a trip and I saw 3 truckloads of Cyber trucks traveling North on the I-5 between Bakersfield and Centinela while traveling South. Nine days later on my return trip North, I saw three more truckloads in the same area only this time I caught them and passed them. The one most further North took the turn to head Northwest to Halfmoon bay area. All these trucks were loaded similarly with 4 Cyber Trucks each. Some were carrying an additional Tesla passenger car. I'm assuming they were all being carried from the Texas Gigafactory.

FYI been driving FSD beta in Pasadena TX since late 2020, V12.3 just dropped into car over night.
As regards the flashing red lights & the overhead string of red lights, keep in mind that just a tap on the brakes or moving the steering wheel will disengage the FSD so that the driver can take control again and mitigate the situation.
I’ve been driving for over 40 years and I can confirm that no one knows what to do when there are flashing red lights. It turns into a game of chicken. Right of way becomes the rule but if someone doesn’t TAKE their right of way all bets are off. Can’t blame the computer for stupid people.
Flashing red is NOT a game of chicken. It is an all-way (usually 4-way) stop. I would hope that you know how to navigate one of those.

During down times for the stocks I've owned, I just quite watching. Sometimes for as long as 2 yrs. I've never regretted that because they've always come roaring back. Elon's advice for TSLA stockholders not to watch Tesla stock this year is good advice, IMO.
This is a real world tests, the more it is exposed to various situations, the more it will be improved.
FYI, my wife’s Tesla was eligible for the 12.3FSD update on Saturday the 16th. We are located on the East Coast (Virginia). We use Tesla insurance and our safety score for our last premium was 99… perhaps that’s why we have it early for the east coast?
I installed it that evening and took a quick drive today. It did well and the most striking difference for me is that the car slowed down on some twisty roads. Historically FSD would take those curves faster than I would.
It hugged the edge of an unmarked road a little too closely, but otherwise did great. It’s not at human level yet, but this is the closest it has ever been to a human driver.
I'm not sure what to do with those flashing red lights at 0:30. Are they traffic controls or decorations? If it were just on the right or overhead I'd think "Four way stop" but when it's on both sides of a two-way street, I'm confused.

I am nearing retirement and am heavily in Tesla and under water a bit lately. It's nice to have a calming voice out there to remind us to keep looking further forward and focusing years out, not short term.
5:56 I think you want to say “i.e.” (Latin: id est) not “aka” (also known as). The Latin “id est” means “that is”, which is a good intro for redefining something with a different or more tailored explanation.
Also google “i.e. versus e.g.” because those often get used in each other’s place mistakenly.

If Sandy was this jazzed about the M3 Highland, just wait til the next gen vehicle or Model Y goes to steer by wire and 48V architecture. A smaller vehicle with steer by wire is going to be bonkers. The Cybertruck is the test bed to bring out the good stuff.

I gave up on rotating tires because they want to charge me for 2 new tires. I've had the tires they asked me to change for 3 months and they don't look peeled.
The TSLA stock performance is only frustrating in light of the fact that the market overall is reaching new highs over and over this year.I agree that any dips, especially if they reach close to one's average purchase price should be used if funds are available, but it cannot be denied that the forces that do everything to be negative about TSLA and try to push it down, if not outright shortsell are having a hay day for the second year in three years.
Iust did first v12.3 drive and it was my best fsd drive ever by far. It didn't try to park, but did pull over in parking lots. It was superbly human-like and it passed the Wife Test! Should have been called Future Self Driving, but the future is close.

The collapse of the Hertz deal is a huge Tesla miss. They should offered to amortize over time Hertz's losses due to the Tesla price drops. Future discounts, etc... I'm sure Hertz's customers loved renting the Model 3s. I know someone who rented a Polestar from them (they were hoping for a Tesla.) Very nice car until they tried to charge it, then endless frustration. Now with the NACS that problem will be solved, but there won't be any Tesla's to rent. Am I completely wrong? Or did Tesla just miss this? Even GM probably would've handled this better.

I don't get Rohan's take on the NEVI specs. According to the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), which Dillon showed, the charger "*must* support voltages from 250-920 VDC." If superchargers can only support up to 500 V, then they don't meet the requirement.

They were talking about v4 superchargers which go up to 1,000 volts. The Cybertruck has a 815 volt battery pack so it would be silly if Tesla didn't support higher voltages. The v4 will also have longer cables so non-Teslas can park next to Teslas when they charge.
@@scottmcshannon6821 Yes. Some non-Teslas like the Lucid Air and the Porsche Taycan have 800+ volt battery packs and there are existing chargers that support this, just not Tesla chargers. The Lucid Air is dog slow when charging if the charger doesn't have enough voltage output to charge the battery directly.
Be sure that dealer has a huge list of EV inconveniences that he uses to sell the ICE bangers on his lot. Another major problem for the legacy makers, dealers actively undermining their EV efforts.

Isn't reselling the Cybertruck risky? If the agreement is found to be binding, then the terms are pretty scary: "$50000, or the value received as consideration for the sale or transfer, whichever is greater." That latter term means "the amount of money or value exchanged for the transfer of ownership." So they could be out the entire amount of the sale, in addition to the original $100k they paid Tesla....which would put them $100k in the hole.
They will approve some sales but you have send a letter to ask for approval and they do not have to respond. It doesn't say they criteria.
The cost over 7 years for the Ford 150's make no sense. The difference should be much, much higher.

Most of these "Analyst Finance" businesses insist their analysts canNOT own stock in the businesses they comment on - supposedly to project the image that the "analyst" is objective. Objective - and broke. As soon as a quality "analyst" gets some money and recognition, they say. "Frunk that requirement. I'm quitting. Going on my own and BUYING Frunkin' Tesla!"

I would feel better about the stock if the whole macro was down like it was at the end of 2022 because I would know it is not Tesla specific thing but the S&P reached record highs while TSLA is down 30%. I lived in India New Delhi for 2 months... Pretty sure Tesla wont be able to do FSD there, their driving is insane. Cars often go the wrong direction down a road, you have people walking, bikes, and all sorts of contraptions on the road with Trucks and buses. Basically there are no laws, roads are often bad, and the amount of traffic will at best create a unique challenge for FSD. It'll be their final boss!
In the end, Tesla will find that putting production in Germany will turn out be a bad, bad idea.
Tesla should not build more giga factories until the demand problem is resolved. Now the supply is already higher than demand no matter whether Elon admits it or not.
So that person is losing money on the cyber resale, right? If founders is $120k+ for delivery, tax, title. Then you have resale expenses for listing and transport, plus sales tax. Selling for $130k doesn't seem worth the effort/risk.

I'm not seeing much with that incentive from India. You're talking about a FIVE YEAR limit that equates to a few DAYS of Shanghai production for a market in a country with more people than China. That's a pimple on a flea. But I might know where the number came from. My back-of-the-envelop calculation says that India is giving up anywhere from $250M-$350M (depending on the price of a car) in import duties for a guarantee of a half billion in investment and the ongoing revenues that the state will see from that.

Give it up. Cars need to “talk to each other.“ Until they do, until that’s regulated mates that are like seatbelts are, we’re not gonna have FSD. For a lot of reasons.
Even in that scenario, FSD can serve as the backbone of the communication and control of the vehicle for far less than what the competition is doing. If all cars have FSD, autonomy would be solved overnight.

Peer-peer communication is for low latency response and neural network, which helps traffic planning and conflict resolution. Until sufficient volume of vehicles are so-equipped, uploading video to enable Tesla’s (and others’) end-to-end autonomy will still reduce accidents and save lives.

From a little bit I read , India will only allow 8000 cars a year for the first three years under a lower tariff , and Tesla would have to invest at least $500 million dollars to start building a manufacturing facility. We will have to wait and see. On the face of it it sounds promising for Tesla.

I think Tesla will faul in India because people in Indi are incrediy cheap and will not buy expensive Tesla cars. Ford tried for years with their subcompact which failed so Ford left India. Only the tiny minority of rich people will buy them. The only reason Tesla should consider a plant in India is if labor is less than in China, Vietnam, or Mexico and then ship to to countries where people cab afford them.

Tesla will have far more trouble in India , the problems will never stop, Thailand is an infinitely better choice.
