V12.3 downloading right now. So my last report on 12.2 is that it still cannot park in a marked space 3 out of 4 times. HOWEVER, SOME BEHAVIOUR CHANGED ALMOST AS IF THE SYSTEM WAS LEARNING. There is a marked shoulder in front of a fire station that serves as place for a queue to turn into the station driveway. There are no signs or markings. On the first trip by the station the car moved began to move into this short dead-end strip of pavement causing me to take control. There was not traffic ahead or behind and nothing parked on the shoulder. On the next and subsequent trips past the station the car made move at all toward the paved shoulder. On a very complex intersection with diagonal crossings and some street furniture at the gore point of a right turn only lane. v11 always tried to move right. v12.2 did this once and not again. However, the voice prompts for navigation called for a right turn rather than continuing straight and it misidentified the cross street. It was as if we were traveling on the cross street rather than continuing across it. I planned to check that tomorrow, but now it will be with v12.3 😁

No, I do not like getting wet in nice clothings and have my car seats wet or with other than Tesla Superchargers need to search for one of felt 20 cards standing in the rain! This is a no go and therefore with my over 300 miles Kia EV6 AWD I home and destinations charge in 10 seconds to get a climatized car next morning. I look only for hotels with a reserved garage parking with charger preferably all inclusive! So why not every charger is covered by PV solar roofs? It’s time to accept that people want some comfort when still paying exorbitant energy prices on the road. At home I nearly charge my own energy for free to become free from stupid new slave systems. I have a Tesla with the shifter and i prefer to keep it.
      Why might you ask?
Because the shifter does NOT require me to take me eyes off the road. Using the Touch Screen requires a person's attention to be focused on the screen with additional visual confirmation monitoring to confirm that the action you committed to the touchscreen was processed fully.
It is not to dis-similar of a issue to the intermittent wipers. The fact that you have to take your attention off the road to change the wiper settings, where before it was just a control stalk that didn't require a individual's attention to be removed from the road.
It is the overall problem with going with a buttonless/control stalkless design. Yes, makes sense in a Full Self Driving future. But we are not in that future yet.
If i had a the shifter-less, then i would be using the manual input buttons more then the touch screen. Because those i can feel and can locate without having to take my attention off the road for longer then necessary durations.
But do we have a problem where some people shouldn't be driving excessively powerful vehicles, yes? Does your grandparents need a vehicle that goes 0-60 in 4 seconds, NO! Does the soccer mom? No. So you run into people that are driving powerful vehicles but do not either have the settings toned down OR do not understand how to drive them properly. So yes, as the article implied, the vehicle went backwards fast. But it doesn't naturally just propel you without you pressing the pedal. If you are panicking, then you are going to press it harder then you should.
How many accident have been caused by this situation alone?
How many "autopilot/FSD" blamed accidents were caused by pure user error?
I enjoy my Tesla. But i also make points to understand the vehicles i am driving to ensure i am driving it safely and within acceptable limits while understanding what those limits are.
How many people do you feel take the time to do that?

Figure is more likely a scam than not. The founder's prior companies were either sold off before making actual profit or are still in limbo. To me, Figure seems more interested in impressing investors. Adding human speech with speech tics when it can barely walk makes little sense. When asked to throw away trash. It automatically knew the paper was trash without being told. It reached for the basket(unprompted). Not a normal place for trash because of the shape. It tilted the basket when it was not necessary. It pushed the basket at the control guy. There was no command to give it to him. It used two hands to give the apple when one could have done it. It used one hand for the trash. The control guy knew the bot would not reach out far enough with the apple and it would quickly release the apple. There is more. The control guy eating the apple reminds me of Trevor's arrogance.

I find it fascinating that people are making an issue about the falling prices of used Teslas over the last 2 years. Since it's only been 5.5 years since the introduction of the Model 3, and it is the Model 3 and Y that are the high volume sales units, the used price of a Tesla in the last 2 years has been influenced more and more by the less expensive cars (as opposed to the S and X). If any of these reports were showing the falling prices based on each model, then there might be something to address.

People don't understand there is an entirely different way of tax accounting. Tesla has probably carried losses from earlier years (which you can do) and all these capital expenditures are likely subject to bonus depreciation (80%) which is completely different then they account for it in public records. For tax you want for financials to look as bad as possible for the government. For shareholders you want it to look good. People and corporations ALL do this. The tax code just doesn't benefit employees at all. But it's pretty friendly to businesses

It was a simple left, any normal driver would negotiate several times a day!. I would have needed eyes under the car, since front wheels curved around median curb, just to run over the rear tire, causing the blow out. Luckily, it was not bad, since I did not lose control of the vehicle. I disengaged immediately, reported the issue to Tesla, through the voice feedback. Also filed a formal complaint with NHTSA. Put my FSD testing on a pause, since I can't afford frequent replacement of expensive tires.😂❤👍

About the Tesla Semi in Europe - since our regulation is total length everyone is using cab over engine trucks.
So a Tesla Semi would be at a disadvantage since the front of the truck to the fifth wheel is longer I think.
I would hope laws are changed to allow for longer ones which can have better drag coefficient , without decreasing the trailer length.
I would help both BEV trucks but also diesel to use less fuel.

I don‘t think that the Semi in it‘s actual form will be build in Giga Berlin. It‘s simply to long to meet EU regulations. We have a limited length of about 18 m for the trailer and the semi combined, and our trailers have commonly 3 axels, with a 2 axles semi in front.
The current Tesla semi does‘t fit into this. It would need a complete new semi for Europe. But it would make a lot of sense do go into this market.
Maybe with a 12 ton truck for b2b deliveries at first, or a semi for hauling cargo between delivery hubs.
And we have a lot of sprinter class delivery vans here, which are also used for medium range transportation of goods. This could be a huge market opportunity for Tesla too.

  • @BoNajdrovsky
    @BoNajdrovsky 2 месяца назад +1

As anyone who's ever been to Europe knows, ALL semi trucks there have a cab over design because of the length restrictions for the overall vehicle. I'm fairly certain that the Tesla semi has just about zero chance of making it to Europe in its current form. It would be too long unless the European Parliament passes some sort of exception for electric vehicles.

Until a presentation is done live and with random players (non-company participants), with randomly chosen activity in a given environment (it would have to be an environment that includes objects and potential tasks that the bot has learnt), no definitive conclusion can be drawn. This whole presentation is open to questioning as everything shown could have just been a preprogramed sequence. A live presentation, with random participants and independent observers, is the only forum that can provide anything conclusive. Once that is done, all our minds will be blown.

The price decline for Teslas has a significant "tail wagging the dog" component in it.
As more and more Teslas are sold there will be an increasing portion of Teslas on the 2nd hand market. Of those 2nd hand Teslas available there will be an increasing portion that are older vehicles and hence will sell for a lower price.
This process will continue until an equilibrium is reached.
My gut feeling here is that the chart in question has been selected and formatted in a way to drive a narrative.
To be meaning full the chart would need to be broken down into the age of each vehicle and the numbers sold over each time period.

11:40 Other luxury cars have them for sound proofing too--but, alas, media only cares about Tesla because Tesla/Elon get clicks.
I can attest to their rigidity, some people up to no good snuck into my apartment's parking garage a couple years back and tried breaking into my car: they cracked up the outer glass pane of the driver's side door pretty good, but the inner remained intact, and then they smashed at the top glass above the driver's seat and also only accomplished cracking up the outer pane. Then they gave up without getting in and went on to break into other neighbors' cars instead--somewhere between 5-9 additional vehicles all of which were successfully broken into. Fortunately, I have no deductible glass protection and it was fixed completely for free (actually ended up making a bit of money because my auto insurance estimated the cost to replace the windows more than Tesla charged to fix it).

The Tesla tax stat is so ridiculous it almost doesn’t deserve any comment. Still, some stats:
    - Tesla accumulated ~$15 billion in losses before they made they made their first profit. The tax code rightly allows companies to write down those losses against profits over a certain period of time. That’s why Tesla paid less tax in its first 3 profitable years.
    - All those executives pay very high US taxes every year. The US has an insanely progressive tax rate where the top 1% of earners now pay ~80% of the taxes. Maybe that’s OK, sure. But then don’t complain when companies need to increase pay checks to attract the best talent.
    - Elon Musk personally paid the largest single tax bill in US history for fiscal 2021 (~$11b).
