So I bought your book from Amazon after watching this video. I wasn't expecting much because I've seen lots lots of youtubers put out books that just seem like they are trying to get a little extra money. But I don't hate on that and I like your stuff so I thought I'd just get it hoping it would at least help you out. Boy was i shocked when it came in! It's amazing. Super high quality. Worth every penny. The best lettering book I've ever seen and I've been through a lot though I still suck at writing. But I'm confident after reading the beginning of yours I'll be a lot closer to where I want to be after I finish the book.

I really like pen only planning. Stickers are so expensive and usually the spreads look so loud and busy
I like the idea of stickers. After several years of trying to make stickers work, I decided that stickers are for people who don't have a lot of things going on and need to fill up space.
@@lisaleone2296 I think it depends on the type and amount of stickers still. Icons or tiny doodle stickers work for me when I have nothing or a lot going on because it either draws my eye to an important thing (icon), or makes me feel less negative about a thing I don't want to do so that I actually get it done (doodles). Sometimes I use them like you would with a child, I don't let myself use the sticker unless I do the thing.

This is very helpful, you make tutorials easy to follow. I learned a lot. Thank you. Please could you do a tutorial on how to learn/practice cursive. I didn't learn it at school and even with cursive practice worksheets online it didnt work for me. Btw of all cursives I've seen on YT, I admire yours the most. ❤👍🏽

I have gotten more comfortable with pen only with accents. I enjoy trying some lettering as well. I have also learned to enbrace mistakes and move on. My planner is not for instagram worthy shots but for me to keep me organized.

Love this vid! This is an area I deal with when teaching sketchnoting. I guess I am what they call a "font doodler". I bring variety & accent to my handwritten documents via the manipulation of text instead of adding images. So, I've really enjoyed your "Pen Only" vids. Along with text, I also use a lot of containers, dividers, & arrows in my writing (teach notetaking skills). Thanks for spreading the knowledge!

Your comment about uppercase cursive letters being awkward as fuck made me feel so validated because when I was trying to learn brush lettering, the uppercase letters were the fucking worst. Now whenever I brush letter, I just do everything in lowercase 😂

I went through a phase where I was experimenting with making the first letter a big thick print letter with serifs, and the snuggling the rest of the word next to it in cursive. It was a look!
Also, I relearned cursive by just starting again in my planner 18 months before my wedding so it would be legible in time for thank you notes. 😂 It worked!
