Hes a great actor but even so his plan is still bad in my opinion It would not stop the war at all instead the Paradis will slowly die and the descendant of Ymir will perish. Eren's "friends" don't deserve Eren, why did they betray him? He was literally fighting for THEIR survival. The scouts joined the military for what reason again? To fight for their survival right? Or to become Avengers one day? So MANY people died for what? So MANY soldiers gave their hearts for what? They couldn't achieve ANYTHING. The scouts went from "let's fight for our survival!" to "Let's fight for the world's survival!". The power of the founding titan can rewrite the DNA of the Eldians. So instead of doing the rumbling in the first place, wouldn't it be better if Eren fully utilized the power to change the makeup of the Eldians such that they have the powers of the titans without actually turning them into titans. The regenerative healing would make them essentially immortal and the hardening abilities would be very useful for defence and since Eren freed Ymir (if you don't count the 139 retcon) the 13 year curse which means that the Eldians will outlive the rest of the world (immortal due to the impressive regeneration) plus the history of the events cannot be disputed or relegated to myth as the Eldians who experienced them are still alive. If they can turn Eldian people into giant monsters that don't need to eat, breathe or sleep to stay alive (as the derive their energy from sunlight) plus creating millions of colossal titans that can harden to from the walls, then what I stated above should not be impossible.

I think Eldians being free from the rest of the world should have been what broke Ymir's curse and got rid of titans (without having introduced the damn worm bc that complicates things) So Eren could have killed 100%, lived afterwards, and would not have died 4 years later. He would've been truly free. Same with the other shifters. That would have made more sense than the curse being broken by Mikasa and titans not even disappearing for good😐
The titans disappeared because Eren freed Ymir and that means with his death would cut the connection between the Eldians and the paths off completely, not allowing them to turn into titans.

I love how in that video he says that people who didn't like the original ending will hate this one even more when in actuality most of us still feel the exact same, it's just that now the things we didn't like (eg Paradis being doomed) are made far more obvious for the people who somehow just couldn't come to those conclusions on their own. The audience who feel like the alliance "saved the world" even though 80% is dead (which is extremely laughable to me). Why does the 50-year plan need to sacrifice Historia? A modified 50-year plan might be the best option. Protect Paradis using the Founding Titan and the colossal wall titans. Have Zeke reproduce to have more persons of royal blood. After Zeke's death, Historia only needs to be in contact with the Founding Titan so it can control the colossal wall titans. The Founding Titan and Historia don't need to be in the frontline of the battlefield. Paradis can continue with technology development.
A late reply but still: 1) zeke didn't want to have children as it would go against his ideology 2) this plan is fake. He didn't intend to go with it at all 3) historia needs to become a shifter to make the founder's power work and that's what eren wanted to avoid - to prevent her from being a titan

It was better if eren destroyed all his enemies but there will still be conflict inside paradis. Paradis leaders are all dead because of eren and Zeke so it's obvious that it will happen. But probably not that big that it will destroy themselves.

This might be a long one, but stick with me, I think I'm order to understand this ending, we need to take a look at the what ifs, specifically, what if Eren finished the Rumbling. Had he finished it, Paradis would be safe, no enemy nations would be left to destroy them, so Paradis would never get nuked. On the other hand, Armin, Mikasa and the others killed him, stopping the Rumbling and leaving the remaining 20% alive to come back after Paradis years later. So putting it in a certain frame, the story ends with Eren being a potential hero in some regards, intending to save Paradis from the world, so in some ways the real villains of the story are Armin and Mikasa. Even to think of Erwin and his methods, he was only able to be the leader that he was by getting blood on his hands and look at how far he brought the Survey Corps. At the end of the day, I think the ending does require some different perspectives to be considered, especially the what ifs and the characters themselves.
I mean technically he didn't even have to die if he really wanted to play hardball he could have just took away their Titan powers Considering he had that ability and then they wouldn't be able to do anything to him he would have got his 100% and he would have lived at least the 4 extra years until the curse got him unless he was able to break that the same way he was able to break the vow to renounce war.

There's no getting out of this plot hole and I would argue that they would have had a much harder if not impossible time if they didn't have the shifter powers regardless of if he could change the biology of them to that extent or not. Furthermore that's not even getting into his memory manipulation powers and the ability to straight up force somebody not to go to war using them. The only reason why Eern gave up on his full plan was not because of his friends Considering how many he had killed throughout the series plus his parents and half brother I would argue he never really cared about them all that much he only really cared about freedom but rather it's because the auther needed a sequel so he pulled it straight out of his ass at the last second with no rhyme nor reason. At the cost of a fulfilling ending mind you and now he has hell pay for it and rightfully so. If eren was serious he could of took away their titan shifter powers at the beginning of the rumbling and they would never even of made it to the plane then there would have been no way whatsoever for them to fight him.
His whole plan would have the opposite effect. He would be saving his people by doing any of these because the fact that an eldian almost ended the world is yet another excuse to keep them suppressed.

There can be conflict inside Pradise, Eren knows that conflict is going to exist if humans exist. Eren removed the curse of Ymir so no more titans left and there's no difference between Eldians and other humans. Now you guys will deny as Eren's tree had turned in Ymir's tree but it's due to another such worm has generated over the centuries. Armin(titan) and others had a long and peaceful lives even their grand kids had. Zeke's plan: to euthanize all Eldian women and such a bullshit will completely wipe out all the Eldians(but even after war some % would still remain). The outside world can anytime attack Eldia so no guarantee that Eldians would have a peaceful lives over the years. Armin and other of the 9 titans would live for a very short period of time as titan curse(curse of Ymir) not removed and Eldians would still be called monsters and hatred will remain and also Eldians would go into a verge of extinction within 60-70 yrs. Some say Floch should be the real MC but Floch was not at all right. If Eren did manage to wipe out the rest 20% then the hatred would take on Paradise itself resulting the united island to get divided into various hostile nations.
there is no evidence that it was centuries before Paradis was attacked. People assume that they nukes is when the attacks started when in actuality it could have been way before that. A lot has to happen before you just start bombing people.

This is what I have been explaining to people who love 139 but they kept saying that: "oh, no, 20% will surely make peace with paradis! He saved paradis and as much people as possible!" And the leaks just nailed the coffin.

The power of the founding titan can rewrite the DNA of the Eldians.
So instead of doing the rumbling in the first place, wouldn't it be better if Eren fully utilized the power to change the makeup of the Eldians such that they have the powers of the titans without actually turning them into titans. The regenerative healing would make them essentially immortal and the hardening abilities would be very useful for defence and since Eren freed Ymir (if you don't count the 139 retcon) the 13 year curse which means that the Eldians will outlive the rest of the world (immortal due to the impressive regeneration) plus the history of the events cannot be disputed or relegated to myth as the Eldians who experienced them are still alive.
If they can turn Eldian people into giant monsters that don't need to eat, breathe or sleep to stay alive (as the derive their energy from sunlight) plus creating millions of colossal titans that can harden to from the walls, then what I stated above should not be impossible.

I think Eldians being free from the rest of the world should have been what broke Ymir's curse and got rid of titans (without having introduced the damn worm bc that complicates things) So Eren could have killed 100%, lived afterwards, and would not have died 4 years later. He would've been truly free. Same with the other shifters. That would have made more sense than the curse being broken by Mikasa and titans not even disappearing for good😐
The titans disappeared because Eren freed Ymir and that means with his death would cut the connection between the Eldians and the paths off completely, not allowing them to turn into titans.

Why does the 50-year plan need to sacrifice Historia? A modified 50-year plan might be the best option. Protect Paradis using the Founding Titan and the colossal wall titans. Have Zeke reproduce to have more persons of royal blood. After Zeke's death, Historia only needs to be in contact with the Founding Titan so it can control the colossal wall titans. The Founding Titan and Historia don't need to be in the frontline of the battlefield. Paradis can continue with technology development.

Eren's "friends" don't deserve Eren, why did they betray him? He was literally fighting for THEIR survival. The scouts joined the military for what reason again? To fight for their survival right? Or to become Avengers one day? So MANY people died for what? So MANY soldiers gave their hearts for what? They couldn't achieve ANYTHING. The scouts went from "let's fight for our survival!" to "Let's fight for the world's survival!". For so long they didn't even know that humanity actually exists outside the walls, but look at them now.

This might be a long one, but stick with me, I think I'm order to understand this ending, we need to take a look at the what ifs, specifically, what if Eren finished the Rumbling.
Had he finished it, Paradis would be safe, no enemy nations would be left to destroy them, so Paradis would never get nuked. On the other hand, Armin, Mikasa and the others killed him, stopping the Rumbling and leaving the remaining 20% alive to come back after Paradis years later.
So putting it in a certain frame, the story ends with Eren being a potential hero in some regards, intending to save Paradis from the world, so in some ways the real villains of the story are Armin and Mikasa.
Even to think of Erwin and his methods, he was only able to be the leader that he was by getting blood on his hands and look at how far he brought the Survey Corps.
At the end of the day, I think the ending does require some different perspectives to be considered, especially the what ifs and the characters themselves.

Considering the euthanasia plan was literally making them unable to breed and Zeke was absolutely confident that it would work. There's no getting out of this plot hole and I would argue that they would have had a much harder if not impossible time if they didn't have the shifter powers regardless of if he could change the biology of them to that extent or not. Furthermore that's not even getting into his memory manipulation powers and the ability to straight up force somebody not to go to war using them. The only reason why Eern gave up on his full plan was not because of his friends Considering how many he had killed throughout the series plus his parents and half brother I would argue he never really cared about them all that much he only really cared about freedom but rather it's because the auther needed a sequel so he pulled it straight out of his ass at the last second with no rhyme nor reason. At the cost of a fulfilling ending mind you and now he has hell pay for it and rightfully so.
If eren was serious he could of took away their titan shifter powers at the beginning of the rumbling and they would never even of made it to the plane then there would have been no way whatsoever for them to fight him.
His whole plan would have the opposite effect. He would be saving his people by doing any of these because the fact that an eldian almost ended the world is yet another excuse to keep them suppressed.

1. When you say that for killing 20% more of humanity would have saved people in is absolutely worng! You say it yourself! There can be conflict inside Pradise, Eren knows that conflict is going to exist if humans exist. When Eren erradicates titans he makes eldians no different to other people (meaning that he saved humanity from titans by killing as few people as possible as he needed Mikasa to kill him for Ymir to end the titans).
2. Eren doesnt have a super special preference to save Paradise but to be free and make his loved people to live happy long lives.

I think that was Eren's original mindset, we could see him tell Reiner that people outside the walls were just like the ones inside. We also saw him breaking down when saving that kid (very enjoiable scene).

Eren's plan:By masaccaring 80 of the global population, he was certain that the outside walls can't immediately attack Eldia(Paradise) as all major nations are devastated. In the extra pages it is clearly shown that war happened but many centuries are passed before that. Eren removed the curse of Ymir so no more titans left and there's no difference between Eldians and other humans. Now you guys will deny as Eren's tree had turned in Ymir's tree but it's due to another such worm has generated over the centuries. Armin(titan) and others had a long and peaceful lives even their grand kids had.
Zeke's plan: to euthanize all Eldian women and such a bullshit will completely wipe out all the Eldians(but even after war some % would still remain). The outside world can anytime attack Eldia so no guarantee that Eldians would have a peaceful lives over the years. Armin and other of the 9 titans would live for a very short period of time as titan curse(curse of Ymir) not removed and Eldians would still be called monsters and hatred will remain and also Eldians would go into a verge of extinction within 60-70 yrs.
Some say Floch should be the real MC but Floch was not at all right. If Eren did manage to wipe out the rest 20% then the hatred would take on Paradise itself resulting the united island to get divided into various hostile nations.
there is no evidence that it was centuries before Paradis was attacked. People assume that they nukes is when the attacks started when in actuality it could have been way before that. A lot has to happen before you just start bombing people.

1. Temporarily safe includes the long life part
2. Eldians can't have kids is essentially saying the same thing. Eren doesn't like killing 80% or 100% either.

4. 100% plan does not require Eren to kill his friends. The titan curse could be removed by Eren allowing his friends to kill him after 100% is complete.

Well his goals really do matter for this. Eren was the one who chose to do the rumbling. I'm saying he wanted to do it, because he wanted his selfish dream of freedom. When he saw the ocean with Armin for the first time Armin thought Eren had the same dream as him, but then immediately realized that erens dream was not the same as his when he didn't react with positivity. That's when Erens dream of freedom became an obsession. Like Kenny said a slave to your own dream. Eren never truly looked for peace his true goal was to experience that dream. That's why he did the rumbling because he wanted to. He in a way is like a serial killer "if someone tries to take my freedom away I won't hesitate to take theirs."
