Probably not as good or intimidating but Greg Lloyd is my favorite he was the main player that brought back Steeler football. It was so exciting in the 90's to see them back to that image. I remember some years in the 80's where the Browns and Bengals would crush the Steelers.
I was playing ball during The Steelers' and the Steel Curtain's reign of terror in the NFL and absolutely idolized these guys. Thanks for pointing out just how much of what they were able to do was because of a huge amount of technical excellence. They were not only the monsters they are remembered for, and do not get me wrong, they were monsters, but they were also true craftsmen many of which defined what their positions were for years to come. Jack Lambert was one of my favorite linebackers of all time! During his playing career, I was and still is a Raider fan. During his time, I was more of a fan of Jack Lambert because of his intensity and brutality. I even have his jersey because I have much much respect for this linebacker, a man's man! Taken from a Steeler's Wire Article: John Elway describes his first ever NFL game against the Steelers and Lambert. Hall of Famer John Elway perfectly described the fear that Lambert put into quarterbacks. As a rookie, in Elway’s very first game, he had to face the vaunted Steelers defense with Lambert snarling at him from across the line. “He had no teeth, and he was slobbering all over himself,” recalled Elway. “I’m thinking, You can have your money back, just get me out of here. Let me go be an accountant. I can’t tell you how badly I wanted out of there.”

Interesting fact about the Cliff Harris incident. Jack Lambert almost got thrown out of the game for grabbing and tossing Harris aside and Lambert had to literally beg the officials not to toss him out of the game. Also Lambert is my favorite player of the 70s Steelers.
The tale behind the Harris field goal moment is when he grabbed the Cowboys Harris and threw him to the ground, no Cowboys player came to his aid immediately. Steelers players said it galvanized something in them to see that fire he had, and they became the bullies again on the field. It's arguably the turning point of that Super Bowl according to those there.
I watch that guy play live, and he was the absolute beast of a player. The Steelers were insane during that time. Watched all four of their Superbowls.

Great video. It's too bad you couldn't get ahold of former NBC broadcaster and Bengals' TE Bob Trumpy. He has got an almost endless supply of Lambert stories....most of which did not end well for him.
By the way, Jack was 6’ 4” and weighed 220 lbs at his peak. He was lean. Players today that height in his position are expected to close to 300 and well over. I thin that made him more formidable.
So my dad was personal friends with Jack Ham from their college days at Penn State. Jack Ham was an OLB for the Steelers, and quite honestly one of the best to ever play the game. After the glory days of the Steel Curtain were over, Jack Lambert started running a youth football camp, and would make appearances at local social halls to promote it. My dad and I were at one such appearance at the local Rustic Lodge in my hometown outside of Pittsburgh. It just so happened that he had cajoled Jack Ham to come with him to help him pitch said football camp. He gave a fiery and obviously well rehearsed speech about the camp and what the students would learn there including commitment and character. After the sales pitch was over, my dad went up to Jack Ham and asked him what he thought about the idea of him sending me to this camp. Jack Ham pointed out to my dad that Jack Lambert had a pint of Jim Beam in the back pocket of his jeans and was drunk already even though it was 10:30 AM. Jack Ham said “So do you really think this guy is going to teach anything to your son about commitment and character when he’s drunk at 10:30 in the morning?” Needless to say, I didn’t go to that camp. That being said, Jack Lambert is one of my favorites of all time. He was an incredible football player, and did turn his life around, get off the sauce, and become a PA game warden.
I thought this might be about Lucas Nix. Now he would be a heck of a video subject. Not only is his appearance truly shocking, but the former Oakland Raiders left guard also had the dubious distinction of finishing a season (2013) the most standard deviations below his position's mean PFF score in the history of PFF.
