Lol….Wow I just had a Memory flash back. The commercial you mentioned was actually about a cassette tape sold by Memorex. The slogan was “Is it live or is it memorex” the singer recorded voice that shattered the glass was Mrs. Ella Fitzgerald. I’m new to playing bass and after finding your Chanel and watching your Beginner videos “what bassists should know & Working in Minor scale” it all started to make sense to me. Thank you for being such a great music instructor. Your lessons are so easy to follow because you explain everything in a way I can understand. You are the Mr. Miyagi of the bass!
Was it Memorex? Was Memorex also the one where the guy is sitting in a chair and turns on the stereo and it blows him backwards? LOL! They made great commercials back in the day. Hey, glad you're enjoying the lessons. Have fun!!
So glad to hear from you again. I was contacted by one of your students and said that you guys were without power and internet for quite some time. That storm wrecked havoc on so many people and communities from Florida all the way to West Virginia. I was worried about y’all. For some reason your videos have not been coming up into my feed. I have been checking your channel for activity but somehow missed this one until this morning.
Yeah brother, I was thinking about ya yesterday. I haven't seen anything come into my feed from you. You still posting? I responded to the coffee you sent, don't know if you got it. We were without power for a week but everything has been back to normal for some time now.
@@stevekonbass oh wow. Yes, I am posting. Not as much as usual though. I am not sure about the coffee thing. I sent it but I lost the link. I have been really worried. I’m glad that you guys are safe. It’s so strange how I never see your post and you haven’t seen mine. Not sure what that’s all about. I am subscribed to so many different channels. Some are not even active anymore.
Glad it helped! Your ears will develop in time. You can practice on bass, guitar, piano, etc. Play 1 note and then play the 2nd note higher or lower and let your ears get used to it. When you listen to music, make an effort to hear what's going on within the song and listen for the chord changes.
Thanks so much Mr Steve. Good to see you and Thank You for the lesson. Now....homework to help us sharpen our ears and improve our pitch sense. You are the best. Cheers my friend!
Hey Gal- Good to hear from you. No, it won't take years. It comes pretty quick. Whenever you hear a piece of music on the radio, in a movie, on a commercial, etc. just make a conscious effort to listen to what each instrument is doing.

Nice to see you again Steve. Thank you for the good lesson. I guess you need years of practice to develop your ear. No short cuts
